My ganks are just out of control.
Bold of you to assume IC has players outside of events.

This is a PvP leaderboard Grand Overlord.
Most of us, experienced PvPers aren't interested in ganking PvEers. We have a war to fight. We like fighting against renowned PvPers and have fun.
Those you met in Cyrodiil or IC who desperately pick PvEers as their prey usually aren't one of us.
Many of us rather have a shorter queue and more real PvP fights on the battlefield.

I love and hate MYM.
I love it because it's incredibly fun and I almost exclusively PvP these days
I hate it because of the seemingly never ending stream of PvE hate posts that crop up before, during and immediately after this event.

I actually learned I have gotten better at PVP. I actually got multiple kills on other players and even once won against two other players at once.
Sure there was likely a huge amount of luck in my combat but still, I could tell I actually got better.
I can usually tell really quickly by how much damage I take from a single hit whether it's worth it to even try to fight back.
Last event I managed to kill a few attackers, but this event a lot of players seem to be packing a much harder punch, so I usually just stand there and let them kill me.
If I'm finished with the daily, I just return to base, turn it in, and grab the one in the next district.
Otherwise, I just keep heading back to the same district until I finish that daily, no matter how often I get killed.
I managed to collect everything from the event on both servers, so I'm happy.
Now I'm going to head back to Cyrodiil on PCEU just to run around collecting skyshards, doing delves, and maybe clearing all of the dolmens, which is something I've yet to do on that server.

I like to PvP from time to time, but will more often PvE(I did finally try out battlegrounds for the endeavor and that was a actually a lot of fun...makes a BIG difference when its small-group that isn't pre-made and no CP...its not get stunned 20 times before you can fire off your first skill). I don't see any hate in this thread, only sad truths about some PvP players taking advantage of PvE players who either don't have the builds or the PvP experience.
Look at this from some PvE player's perspective: ZOS claims they can wear their same gear and skills into PvP zones...and while that is techincally true...the PvE player logs into the CP campaign(because they foolishly want to utilize their CP...CP that is set up for PvE) and start riding to wherever the fight is. On the way there they get ganked by some nightblade with a one-shotting snipe build....so they die and have to res at the keep...so they go back...this time maybe they are more wary and go on foot so they don't get sniped off their horse...this time they manage to get a block in and maybe heal some, and hit the nightblade a time or two. Said nightblade just runs away and stealths until they are at full resources again...then comes back and finishes them off(of course the PvE player doesnt have any type of flare or magelight slotted). So the player tries again and finally manages to make it to the fight location without being ganked...this person still isn't in a group, not realizing how terrible survivability is as a single person in Cyro...but hey, they see a single player running around a tower and think "hey, I might have a chance to get a kill in here" so they go chase this guy around the tower...unbeknownst to them this is some warden with the latest cancer build that kills them in about 3 seconds flat. So, being sick of trying to do anything alone, they post in zone chat asking for a group....they are promptly ignored.
You tell me...is that an experience that would make you want to come back and try PvP again? I am by no means a good PvP player...but I do manage to go in a couple purpose-built PvP toons and have some fun and get some kills(I tend to stick to no-CP campaigns because I have no interest in fighting people that never die) but if I had just come from PvE to check it out...heck no, its a miserable experience for a first time player and the vast majority of it is caused by ZOS refusing to separate out PvP skills and sets...PvP players taking sets mean for PvE and using them to build cancer builds, causing nerfs to the PvE effectiveness of those sets, the huge disparity of PvE and PvP builds is always evident every MYM. PvP sets and skills should ONLY be usable in PvP zones and vice versa...this way no PvP player will ever have to farm PvE content for some set....ZOS could easily revisit all the tons of PvP sets not often used instead...they could nerf anything overperforming in PvP without hurting utilization in PvE, same thing with skills....much easier to balance PvP if you aren't trying to balance it against PvE at the same time.

I trimmed this quote down to highlight the 1 thing that stood out.
It's the "promptly ignored" part that stands out to me.
Even outside MYM I've been completely ignored in zone chat trying to group up, so I've always struggled and eventually just leave.
PVP is a part of the game that interests me, so I keep going back and seeing if I can group up.
