To give more insight on how accessible it is for non PvPers to repair keeps in Cyrodiil, I took one of my non PvP toons into Cyrodiil in their PvE gear. I hopped around until I found a campaign where my alliance had a respectable amount of map control, then used a transitus shrine to port to the keep nearest to my spawn in point. I bought 100 each of wall and door repair kits, ready to test how many I'd need. Turns out, it only takes 2 repair kits, tested on a door that was around 80% health and now has 88%.

As for gankers, I repaired the inner door from the inside, so there is probably <1% chance that there's someone in here with me waiting to ruin my day. And yes, I'm writing this while afk in the keep.

Because inner doors don't usually need repair, I also ran to the outer door to see if I could repair it without trouble. I did, and then ran around trying to find a wall to repair in case both doors happen to be at full. I found one in the back, repaired it a bit, then ran up to sit on the wall by the outer front door on my glowy psijic camel to write this. Tabbed back in to check: still not ganked :)

I'm hoping this post can educate people about Cyrodiil and how safely they can do simple tasks that fulfill endeavors or earn AP toward the tier 1 transmute geode with 50 crystals inside. If you still don't want to on principle, that's cool too. I have one character that will never set foot in Cyrodiil again after long ago unlocking the required skills, just because I love her too much to see her get teabagged on the extreme off chance that were to happen. But I also have those that are geared for it and PvPing for the event, and those that just run around farming mats and repairing walls.

PS: Still alive on my glowy camel :)

The crafting one is fine, anyone can deconstruct a few rings.
The world boss one is fine, there's always people doing them, but I can solo them no trouble.

I can't do the pickpocket one, I'm not a thief.

I can't do EITHER of the TWO PvP ones, because I don't PvP. Sure, I'm choosing not to do this one, but that's been covered before. I'm not going to go to Cyrodiil to be fodder for someone else's jollies. I play for MY amusement, not theirs.

    Not really, no.

I reiterate my comment from before, that the endeavours should include at least 3 generic ones that anyone can do, in any zone. I gave some examples.

I can't do heists or sacraments AT ALL, and I'm unlikely to be able to do any that require actual PvP (such as defeating X players). I'm extremely limited in my ability to do things like pickpocketing, or even survive in Cyrodiil if I'm not built FOR that.

No more than two endeavours should include such things, or it will leave many players incapable of completing three for the day.

I'll also point out that the game is largely an RPG, so it can be expected that players will play their characters IN CHARACTER, which might preclude them doing things like stealing or murdering.

It probably would have made more sense to complain about the Jewelry endeavor, since (I think) you can't even interact with a Jewelry crafting station unless you have access to the Summerset chapter DLC, which means that endeavor is "gated" behind having to purchase either ESO Plus or the Summerset chapter DLC.

That might be true, but a lot of people who value roleplaying and stringency also have several characters with whom they can try out the different roles.

Some should try to say goodbye to the idea that the endeavors are "thrown after" us. And as already said before, they should be an incentive to buy chapters/dlc (apart from their function of evading a potential ban on loot boxes) and are not meant as a gift or new entertainment feature.

I can confirm that it takes just 2 repairs to achieve the endeavor, which surprised the heck out of me. But I kept repairing stuff anyway, to earn AP. By the time I ran out of things to repair, I'd amassed 36,761 AP. If you ask me, that's pretty good for doing basically nothing-- and I didn't even have to spend any gold, because I already had several stacks of repair kits to get rid of, which I'd acquired from a combination of boon boxes and killing Imperial soldiers. (I can't resist the temptation to attack the Imperial camps that I run into while traversing Cyrodiil, since you can frequently adquire repair kits, alliance potions, and field rations that way.)

Yes, not all the endeavour quests will be palatable but this one rationalises that if doing x or x quests can mean getting that knight apparent greaves and then the chest bit the next, without buying the dreaded crown crates, then it’s worth the few minutes of thieving/crafting/lock picking.

I read a lot of statements that start with: I dont do X, Y and Z so its impossible to get the daily/weekly endeavor seals.

Isnt that the point of these endeavors, to motivate players to try more facets of the game?

Doing a random dungeon on normal doesnt mean you need to be highly skilled, its different for vet dungeons.
Also the battleground endeavors also just say complete which means you dont have to win (or be good) to complete the endeavor.

Just give different things a try, it might be more fun than the thing you're restricting yourself to.

Thieves Guild won't help you with that. You need to raise your Legerdemain skill. That has a passive that improves your pick-pocketing odds, and predates any of the paid DLC added to ESO.

In fact, the entire, "steal things and pocket the gold," playstyle is open without Thieves Guild. The biggest thing Thieves Guild gives you is +10% to your fencing prices, but that isn't quite as impressive today because we now have a Champion Point that offers +25% without a paywall.

Nah, that is Ledgerdemain skill tree domain. Thief's guild helps you only in selling loots for higher price, getting additional bonus from daily quest or manage bounty - however in CP 2.0 bonuses from green tree are Imho far better than from TG.

Pickpocketing isn't a big deal, the Heist or sacrament endeavour dailies are more of a problem if you don't own the dlc or have ESO+.
I have a thief character who also has DB on max but I am personally not a fan of both,if I can avoid it I rather do but still better than PvP.

I find that successfully pick pocketing in this game is a player skill, and it is best developed without the aid of passives.

I'm not a bloody murderer, so no sacraments.
I'm not interested in PvP, and have no interest in being cannon fodder for someone else's fun, so no Cyrodiil.

That leaves the Chests (no problem) and the Reptiles.
Interestingly, after doing Wayrest Sewers I, apparently the Alligator Boss isn't a reptile.
Neither are any of the Dunerippers in Volenfell.
Neither are any of the many Argonians I killed in both dungeons.

    Disappointing.

There shouldn't be multiple endeavors on any given day that require a particular role or guild (or PvX). No more than one from any guild or particular role, keep as many as possible as general as possible (things like killing reptiles, opening chests, harvesting materials, etc. that can be done by anyone, PvE or PvP).

I disagree with your comment. The endeavours are a very good way to explore the whole game. I play the game since 6 months and I have now 5 characters: a thief, a tank, a wizard and so on. If you are not interested in a very large part of the game you can´t expect that they will give you endeavours just for you.

I am really saddened by people who just complain about this game all the time

I'm actually glad that the daily and weekly endeavours include stuff like PvP. While I would never choose to do pvp content, since I have an absolute high anxiety problem with pvp, I feel it's a good thing that players that enjoy pvp get to do more dailies for their favorite playing style.

On the whole, endeavours are so nicely varied, that there's always something to do. I can choose not to do some, because I don't feel comfortable with them (-> pvp), but there are others to choose from.

And in the end, the only reason why we're even doing endeavours is to buy stuff we don't really need, only because it looks nice.

However (and I did say that in another post already), I do see the positive effect of revitalizing zones and content, and of adding more ways of earning loot and xp. I'm still working my way up the green cp tree, so I very much appreciate all xp making opportunities.

You do realize that the Cyrodiil quests had nothing to do with PvP right? I went and did a Cheydinhaal quest on the day you are talking about. Unsurprisingly there were 3 AD camping the quest giver site...it was really pitiful honestly since the LOWEST alliance war rank of the 3 was 27 with one of them being 50([snip] experienced supposedly good PvPers hitting PvE noobs?...[snip]). It didn't matter though, I was still able to get the quest, do it and turn it in. I was on a PvE tank so unsurprisingly I died to the quest campers but it really didn't stop me from doing the endeavor. You are not by any means forced to do any endeavor you don't want to do...and they give you a choice of the available ones to do....that is PERFECTLY REASONABLE. Would you be happy if they reverted to there being no endeavors? Then you wouldn't have to do any of it. Its optional free crown crate stuff...if you don't want to do the activities requires to get the seals....don't. If you want the seals, suck it up and deal with content you may not like. I am not always thrilled with the options presented....but its sure better than the alternative. ZOS does not need to "fix" anything about endeavors...there is nothing wrong with them to begin with. Thank you ZOS for the free crown crate stuff with no real effort involved.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I find that successfully pick pocketing in this game is a player skill, and it is best developed without the aid of passives.

I agree, assuming the emphasis is on "best developed."

Successful pickpocketing is a matter of choosing your target wisely, then choosing your moment wisely.

Each potential target has a potential success percentage that varies depending on how attentive they are, so go around and watch that percentage on different NPCs to see how high it goes. Then focus on the NPCs whose percentages go the highest, and ignore the rest. You'll quickly start to learn which types of NPCs are likely to be easier or harder than others, which will be helpful for choosing targets more quickly in the future.

Then be patient as you watch your selected target to see what their pattern of movement is (if they aren't stationary), as well as the movements of any nearby NPCs. It won't do you much good if you try to pickpocket while your target is at the highest percentage but there are other NPCs who witness your actions.

So, yes, it's a player skill, and an important part of that is patience-- more trait than skill, but still something you can develop.

I went and did a Cheydinhaal quest on the day you are talking about. Unsurprisingly there were 3 AD camping the quest giver site...it was really pitiful honestly since the LOWEST alliance war rank of the 3 was 27 with one of them being 50(I mean WTF? experienced supposedly good PvPers hitting PvE noobs?...if you 3 are reading this you should be ashamed). It didn't matter though, I was still able to get the quest, do it and turn it in.

Hmm, I wonder if ganking enemy PvE questers is how they earned all of their AP in the first place? :D But when I went there that day on my DC characters, everyone was either working together or just leaving each other alone, so it seems like it may have been a question of which campaign was chosen and what time of day it was. Anyway, kudos to you for being persistent and getting the quest done rather than giving up.

The Cyrodiil delve one a few days back did not work. Went to Lips and tarn (sp) and killed both bosses twice.

Missed it as I had no time left to figure something out. It was 10min before reset.

In the future will give myself more time or pick a delve with one boss.

The crazy thing was, people were saying they got credit for that endeavor by killing other things without even being in any of the delves. It's unfortunate that you missed out by trying to earn it "as advertised" but couldn't get it, when you could have just killed something in a much quicker and more vonvenient location.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

They are doing a pretty darn good job of spreading endeavors around multiple types of content. They are there to encourage people to play all aspects of the game. If you wall yourself off from a majority of the content, well that is on you.

You can pickpocket without the thieves guild dlc.

You can try, but you'll fail a LOT, and earn a fat price on your head.

Best is to steal loot and sell to a fence until your legerdemain is high enough to put a few points into light fingers before trying to pick pockets. The docks in Glenumbra work well for that. Put 1 skill point into trafficker and sell your limit everyday. You'll be able to pick pockets like a Khajiit in no time.

I didn’t pay attention to the daily endeavors but I’m almost at 2k endeavor tokens already. The Cyrodiil and PvP ones are pretty easy.

I log in deliberately to check & do the ones that I'm willing/able to do. I'm at around 700 so far. (missed both weeklies, and several days have been only 2 out of 3.)

    But, yeah - that's my choice. /shrug

I look at endeavors as something to do if they overlap what I am planning for that day and if not they will just sit there incomplete. With the amount of coins needed to buy any of the rewards and the pittance you get from completing endeavors I just can't get excited about them.

I hope we move past these daily "I don't like to do X" endeavor threads.

I think you either just do whatever one's are easy for you and take your lesser reward, or put in the effort/RP sacrifice or whatever in order to get the full reward.

It's random, and it's not going to please everyone all the time.

I’m waiting for the “I don’t like to claim my daily rewards so can you please just deliver them to me” post…

Believe it or not there were many people raging in the forums after they started it because they would forget to claim the daily or were too busy to log in so zos caved in and now the big reward is in the middle of the month instead of the end.

And it's 100% better that way too.

And once again, another day with only two endeavours.

    Disappointing... AGAIN.

[snip] As it has already been pointed out, 2 of them you can do easily.

    [edited to remove quote]

Pickpocketing is a base game skill that can be done by anyone in any zone.
