Either way it is not in ZOS best interest to allow this since more leveling = more potential money spent and by more customers.

It's definitely in Zos' best interest. It keeps people from quitting the game, which means they stick around and buy more crown crates and expansions.

I, also, would pay for a class change token. I have the same problem, where I have my main character I want to complete all the content on for achievements and stuff, but personally I don't enjoy playing Templar all that much. I would love to re-spec him to a different class (leaving everything else).

Of course I have other characters in different classes, but no one comes into this game brand new and knows how to do everything, learning what I know now vs when I first started out, I would've picked something else besides Templar for him. I don't want to focus on a different character as the main one because I have already completed content I don't want to have to re-do for the sake of the achievements (and no offense meant, but re-doing the main zone stories to me isn't as exciting as the DLC zone stories are, trying to drag through them isn't fun).

I personally don't get enjoyment from a class that's sole DPS focus is one technique (jabs and jabs and more jabs) and I don't want him to be build up as a healer because it doesn't fit the character I've worked on up to this point. I have other characters for that, I want my main character that I have history and friend experiences with to be the one I enjoy. At this point, I just don't.

Are you going to pay 50k crowns each time they change the class balance in one of their patches? Because even if Nightblade is currently useless in PvP (which it's not), it could easily change in 3 months, or 6 months, or a year. Look at all the history of shifts in ESO during these 6 years, it's pointless to jump back and forth in pursuit of current fashion...

I'm pretty sure that Customer Support can't. As in, they literally do not have the tools to do this. I'm not 100% sure anyone has the tools to do this on the live server. Now, ZOS might consider tasking out one of the database guys to do this by hand, but, that's outside the scope of customer support.

Does it work well? This I can't judge because I'm not that good of a player.

Class change token can mean one of 2 things:
- On one hand it will intensify ZOS to release more and more "P2W" classes (they are doing that anyway, but it may get worse).
- On the other hand it will mean that ZOS will have additional statistical data on what class is the most popular / preforms best for diffetent type of content - as people will switch to whatever the "flavour of the month" most powerful class is etc, so potentially it means that things can get more balanced than they are now.

I think it is actally worth the risk as we already have non-base game classes that... lets just say are "questionable" in term of being balanced vs base game classes.

And one thing I would like to point is it would be ideal to have account-wide achievements, but we know how it ended last time (crown store skyshards if you have skyshard hunter achievement).
So, I would expect something similar... (once you completed all zone's achievements, you can buy them in crown store / per character)...

Why not try a different race for your nb? That's what I did and like it a lot better. Granted my crafter is a nb and I wish I could switch her to a Templar instead of thinking I think nib would be best when I first made her >>

I don’t know why there isn’t a class change; surely race is the most integral part of a character and you can change that. I think ZOS should make that an option, refunds your skill points but you have to level up the new skill trees. On a max level character it wouldn’t take so long (quicker than leveling a new character, not even considering everything else you’ve unlocked on the character you want to class change) and it makes sense that a character would have to put it some time to learn new skills.

I am curious why nightblade is considered by many (all?) of you to be a poor choice for PvP unless you want to go stealthy? Asking because I want to make a new stamina character for PvP, focusing on Weapon, Alliance and Fighter’s Guild abilities and nightblade was one of the classes I was considering.

Oh mate...I spent over a year playing NB. My first year in ESO. It was my main, invested a lot into that char. I still have it even.
It was a bad decision to jump to ESO as NB so a little more than a year after I made a Templar that I still play as my main.

How long you've been playing this char?

Your class interacts with way more systems than your race does. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if changing your character class risks some serious database corruption on the back end.

That’s true; I was thinking of it more from a lore standpoint. From that standpoint, retraining in a new class makes more sense than somehow (magically? miraculously?) changing the essence of who or what your character is. It actually hadn’t occurred to me that it might not be possible for logistical reasons.
