Small man groups seem to be what everyone wants or maybe even duels, but not everyone clearly does. Some people LIKE playing with all their friends, (and I have A LOT).
Small man group complained about ball groups in pvp so battlegrounds were made.
Gankers complained about ball groups in pvp (only when they can't kill them all) so behold! Imperial City ... a gankers paradise.
Then solo folks wanted to duel, so behold! The duels were introduced.
That is 3 places that small man and solos can have a blast doing what they love. They've also been welcomed into cyro because it's kind of fun to have them around.
HOWEVER, now the small man and solos don't want ball groups even in cyro. So where will the people who like that kind of playing go? Many people like the big group on group play. Where are they supposed to get that if you take that away from them as well?
Remember ... small man, gankers, and solos have FOUR AREAS TO PLAY IN.
RAIDS have only one ... Cyrodiil

Probably you did not notice it as a constant ballblober, but it is.
Every time lag starts people complain in chat about ballgroups
, and these days when cyro works fine in primetime ballgroups are offline.
Second fact - during bugged group invite for TWO DAYS cyro does not lag at all full locked.
Now, when cooldowns are not shared we have 3x ballblobs in the same time and the lag is RIDICOLOUS comp to previous week.

1-2 people organizing, the rest as long as have ability to press button and can listen. If all the people in the group have their own move then its screwed.

If my time in Cyro has taught me anything it's that most folks will follow the path of least resistance. If that's all it takes to run a proper ballgroup, everyone would be doing it.

I found being in a ball group incredibly boring. Running back and forth, around and around only using your assigned skills.

The contrary is true: if just one player doesn't make the right decision on their own positioning at a critical moment the group may wipe (so the statement '1-2 people organizing... screwed' just proves how right the previous quote 'many ppl think they know how organised raiding works... literally not knowing what theyre talking about' is )
In a competitive organized group the raid leader decides and communicates the general tactics, but in a fight each group member has to constantly make split second decisions on their own positioning, and on the prioritization of the different functions that he or she is responsible for.

You know it's funny, the term "Ball Group" has been conflated to mean something it used to not mean. I can't count how many times I have seen somebody complain about there being a ball group and showing to find out it was just four players peeling and working together in a group. It really has become a catch all boogyman term. In the end a Ball Group is just a highly optimized large scale group.

Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
