Ballgroup cyrodill infestation

Small man groups seem to be what everyone wants or maybe even duels, but not everyone clearly does. Some people LIKE playing with all their friends, (and I have A LOT).

Small man group complained about ball groups in pvp so battlegrounds were made.

Gankers complained about ball groups in pvp (only when they can't kill them all) so behold! Imperial City ... a gankers paradise.

Then solo folks wanted to duel, so behold! The duels were introduced.

That is 3 places that small man and solos can have a blast doing what they love. They've also been welcomed into cyro because it's kind of fun to have them around.

HOWEVER, now the small man and solos don't want ball groups even in cyro. So where will the people who like that kind of playing go? Many people like the big group on group play. Where are they supposed to get that if you take that away from them as well?

Remember ... small man, gankers, and solos have FOUR AREAS TO PLAY IN.

RAIDS have only one ... Cyrodiil

Kind of a red herring to say group on group should be balled up spamming radiating regent and purge moving around with impunity. There are other ways to have group on group combat

If you are solo and then summon a pet....congrats you are now a Zerg.

    #nerfpetballgroups

On a serious note I just want to game with no lag and no desyncs. Please make that a reality ZOS. This weeeks test is horrid compared to last weeks.

He trully thinks Cyrodill has been made for a ragtag of aoe spammers mindlessly following WSAD addon direction and abusing heal overstacking outdated mechanic avaliable only in eso.

October tests limit the size of groups in Cyrodil I think like max is 12 people.

Probably you did not notice it as a constant ballblober, but it is.

Once again you do yourself a disservice by making a statement based on what you think is true, rather than basing your statement on any actual evidence. For the record, I play all types of PVP (solo, small scale, pug groups and large scale groups).
Every time lag starts people complain in chat about ballgroups

And this is proof of what exactly? Every time a faction goes to hit a keep and find it's defended, Zone is 100% certain there must be a spy on their faction. Every time a faction gets hit by both enemy factions, zone screams "Team [insert color here] are working together again" even if they happen to have emp, all the scrolls and are in first place. Every time a new player grabs the hammer and enthusiastically heads towards the nearest enemy keep and gets the hammer taken away from them zone is 100% certain that the player in question must have been giving the hammer to the enemy deliberately.

Just because Zone says something, doesn't make it true.
, and these days when cyro works fine in primetime ballgroups are offline.

Yet there are times when Cyrodiil lags badly with 2 bars or less population and no ball groups.
Second fact - during bugged group invite for TWO DAYS cyro does not lag at all full locked.

So was that because there were no ball groups, or because there were no groups in general?
Now, when cooldowns are not shared we have 3x ballblobs in the same time and the lag is RIDICOLOUS comp to previous week.

Here's the thing. I am not disputing the possibility that Ballgroups are the problem. However, that needs to be based on actual evidence rather than speculation.

e.g. In the post you are replying to, I questioned why it would be that when that ball group (that you talked about) came on during the first test, they would lag the server if they weren't able to cast AOEs as frequently, and suggested that this would indicate that AOEs might not be the route cause of the problem.

Someone in another thread pointed out that although they couldn't cast AOEs frequently, the rapid regens they cast were still able to stack, so each member of the group had 6 or 7 of them ticking away.

That makes sense, and may explain why that ball group could potentially cause lag when on the surface it shouldn't have during that test.

See, that's the kind of evidence I am meaning. It would be great if that test could be done again, and remove the regen stacking, to confirm whether it was that particular mechanic that was causing issues.

ballgroups are just using the mechanics and skills that the game provides, calling it abuse makes no sense at all. also calling it super easy braindead aoe spamming is just wrong. so many ppl think they know how organised raiding works, even tho they never played it themselves, literally not knowing what theyre talking about.

1-2 people organizing, the rest as long as have ability to press button and can listen. If all the people in the group have their own move then its screwed.

If my time in Cyro has taught me anything it's that most folks will follow the path of least resistance. If that's all it takes to run a proper ballgroup, everyone would be doing it.

I found being in a ball group incredibly boring. Running back and forth, around and around only using your assigned skills.

running back and forth and using your assigned skills is literally what you always do in cyrodiil no matter what you do

The contrary is true: if just one player doesn't make the right decision on their own positioning at a critical moment the group may wipe (so the statement '1-2 people organizing... screwed' just proves how right the previous quote 'many ppl think they know how organised raiding works... literally not knowing what theyre talking about' is :) )

In a competitive organized group the raid leader decides and communicates the general tactics, but in a fight each group member has to constantly make split second decisions on their own positioning, and on the prioritization of the different functions that he or she is responsible for.

You know it's funny, the term "Ball Group" has been conflated to mean something it used to not mean. I can't count how many times I have seen somebody complain about there being a ball group and showing to find out it was just four players peeling and working together in a group. It really has become a catch all boogyman term. In the end a Ball Group is just a highly optimized large scale group.

Nope, Zergs are not organized and are not optimized. What you are doing is calling well armed, trained and disciplined army, a disorganized mob. Zergs don't line up ulty rips. Zergs don't take on proper roles. Zergs don't line people up at chokes or los. In the end Ball Groups are Optimized Large (12-18) Scale Group. If a group doesn't meet this definition it isn't it.

Would believe without witnessing your smart fellas mindlessly follow the scattershoted of the wall leader.
Well yeah, maybe it's damn hard to orient when half of your monitor screen is WSAD addon, indeed.

Jesus christ, its so damn fun to read ballblob members describing their primitive aoe gameplay based on aoe healing spam as they work at nuclear power plant instead.
