Maybe theyll throw some new BG map or an unfun objective-based gamemode at us in the next 2 years, who knows.

What about the PvPers that buy hundreds of Crown Crates?

no more pvp please and thank you.
the taint of pvp severely affects pve.
pvp shouldnt even be in this game at all.
pvp in this game would be ok if only letting it be a tacked-on afterthought and NEVER the reason for any balancing and nerfs.
elder scrolls is supposed to be a pve paradise!!!
pvp is why we pve cant have nice things.

Uhh no, that's just straight up false. PvE was originally added as an afterthought if anything, and PvP changes rarely actually have a real impact on PvE since the skills/sets used in PvE are different.

The game is literally mostly PvE, how is it an afterthought, it's impossible to play the game without doing a little bit of PvE, it's very much possible to never touch PvP

Dont think it is likely, given that they ended up giving the last PvP additions away, it appears not to be a good ROI!

Unless they drastically improve performance in a PVP setting, they will not add a PVP DLC because it will just put more focus on how horrible the performance is for the majority of us that PVP.

If they want to loose most of the population the can place it as chapter

Maybe take the place of a dungeon pack wiuld be a better move?

Pvp isnt the focus anymore because its simply isnt as popular as pve

They gave away the last PvP DLC for free(imperial city), and still basically noone plays it. So making a year long dedicated to PvP would be a HUGE mistake. Barely anyone PvP's.

Honestly all I could really hope for is that either q1 or q3 (dungeon updates) gets replaced next year with an update to pvp and with that I mean a new bg mode and or map a rework to bg mmr system and an actual leader board that gives deceng rewards alongside some more uniqe rewards that you can get via bgs.... For cyrodil a bit of a map update.... Also update the keeps so that the current usseless keeps can be worth holding on to... Nerf the hammer and don't allow emo faction to pick it up adf more unique score stuff like thr scrolls for example and more unique rewards for pvp that can be obtained via achievments or bought with ap.... Hell give us a unique skin and or mount for grandwarlord for example.....update rewards of the worthy to be worthy of getting and update campaign rewards so factions can matter again... For ic add new stuff to be bought with telvar be it skins pets motifs polymorophs etc.... Update the existing ic armor so that they can be competitive outside of ic(but not necasarily best in slot) and give each ic set a unique aditional effect inside ic to encourage the use of ic sets in ic... Maybe add some new sets to... Update the sewers with a uniwue telvar gain buff that can be obtained once every 30 or minutes and add new rewards in sewers chest etcm.. Give molag bal some new drops and increase his telvar drop.... And maybe add a new alchemy plant that only rarly grows in ic and can be bought for 5k telvar or so.... Also add a pve player detecter so they can be smited in pvp zones so I do not have to listen to them complain about pvp existing in eso when I am doing pvp....please.....

less then 0.03% of the player base pvp's. Lol nope.

I am no fan of pvp in this game so im not bashing you because you are not pro-pvp but care to back up that claim with some sort of citation?

PvP is a snall part of ESO but I doubt it is that small.

    Never going to happen.

    1) performance can't handle normal levels of PvP, much less something focused on PvP,

    2) PvE-only players will lose their [snip] - happens every time someone even mentions the phrase, Midyear Mayhem, and

    3) casuals, RPers, flower-pickers, and butterfly -chasers spend the most money, so there's zero incentive do anything PvP related.

If this concept of mixed PvP & PvE was successful, we would have more of it at this point. But IC proved that this concept was faulty & it was not well received by the majority of player base.

Unlikely, there is a reason why ZOS doesn't put much money into PvP because only a small % of the games players do it frequently enough

If they invested to the point that performance was fixed so the game ran the way it's supposed to the PvP population would explode. For the first couple of years after the game first came out on PS4 there were multiple pop capped campaigns filled daily and those campaigns had higher caps.
But the steady decline in performance frustrated many competitive PvP players so they moved on to other games leaving behind few players from those early days. And now it's just nearly unplayable much of the time so retention is terrible for those new players who do try it.

With the state of PvP in this game, I think it would be huge mistake adding more PvP. The game does not have the PvP focused player base to make working on such things worth the effort. Heck, Zos tried to monetize PvP with BGs but in the end, they had to make that part of the base game because of lack of interest in actually paying for it.

I think Zos needs to focus on getting Cyrodiil working properly and fix the issues with BG queueing and the exploiting going on in some of the matches. If they get that done and if that draws PvP players into the game then it may be wise for Zos to try to add more PvP and monetize it. Until then I think it would be a waste of time and money. Just my opinion.

Edit: Adding that it will likely never happen that an entire year will be PvP focused. I see no reason why Zos would even consider it for a moment considering how small the PvP population has been in the game for several years now.

I am fairly certain that the "way it supposed to run" is not such that it would support "competitive PVP". They might be able to do enough performance work to satisfy the less picky among the PVP crowd, but there will always be complaints about PVP performance. I do not think that is a battle they can win.

Sure, some will be happy, but then, I am also fairly sure that there are people playing PVP today that are not really complaining, even though performance is terrible.

Anyway, I think it comes down to core server and game design. If their game was designed for high performance PVP, there would be no performance problems today. It seems clear to me that it is not designed that way. They certainly look to have software and architectural issues that keep them from that level of performance.

ESO is a "hobby" game, from a performance perspective. That is much more acceptable to a PVE community than it is a PVP community.

Don't forget about such shining examples of good sportmanship like ganking players while they are talking to a quest NPC, or camping the interiors of quest giver houses and placing large amounts of deadly AoE in there (including sieges!) to kill any unsuspecting players before they can even react.

For the record, both of those things happened on a regular basis during the last year's Anniversary Event, to name one example.

    Pretty much this.

History has proven, repeatedly, that such a "mixed PvE and PvP zone" aka "PvPvE zone" design simply does not work as a whole. Not only in ESO, but also in other MMOs.
This is especially true when the zone in question is mainly PvE oriented, with little or no PvP objectives (such as capturable flags, buildings, etc).

Even in those games where the open world PvP aspect is strictly on an opt-in basis (ie. by flagging yourself for open world PvP), that feature can be abused in various ways to grief the PvEers despite them not being flagged for PvP to begin with.

If a zone is meant to cater primarily to PvPers, then it should contain no or only insignificant PvE elements - Cyrodiil delves are a good example of this, as they serve no practical purpose beyond counting for map completion or for getting a temporary AP gain buff.

And, last but certainly not least, there's also the issue of the performance impact (yet again!) - this is already very noticeable in PvE zones where a lot of duelling happens, now imagine what would happen if there was additionally any large scale PvP occuring on top of that!

Etc etc you know it's not Baseless because you heard similar arguments from Midyear madness or from Cyrodiil "RP sessions" when they don't get to play castles anymore.
