It would be a PvE Cyrodiil zone because you know the Cyrodiil ingame is only half of the province.

I highly doubt they will trade PvE for PvP. I could easily see them involving the three banner war though. Or follow some continuation of the story.

That doesn't mean PvP wouldn't get an update. I mean in theory they could rebuild Cyrodiil map/keeps <Other games have done stuff similar>.

Selling content is their #1 priority. Even BG's became Base Game and were begged to be added to it. It just isn't in their best interest to make it a purely PvP purchase. Splits communities and in the end is a worse experience for it.

Any new PvP content is bound to be a complete flop, unless ZOS can first fix most of the horrendous performance issues and bugs which currently plague PvP.

And in any case, I'd much rather have the existing PvP content restored to a playable state first, instead of having ZOS waste development time and resources on something that won't work anyway with the game in its current state.

    My wishlist PVP.
    1) medium PVP zone with hard PVE world events (like dragons in Elsweyr). You win the other groups, so you earn a chance to get some cool reward from a strong monster. IC Bosses is not hard enough, and the reward is not good.
    2) 1v1 and 4v4 battlegrounds with separate leaderboard: you lose points if you lose the match, you gain points otherwise.

There's no reason to believe they're going to change their formula at this point. It's going to be 2 dungeons, 1 chapter PvE zone with 2 public dungeons, 6 delves, world bosses, etc, then 2 more dungeons and a smaller PvE zone.

If they do anything to PvP, it will be part of the base game updates, almost guaranteed.

I can't see them doing a PvP DLC. Splitting the PvP population even further, and then gating some stuff behind a DLC, when a lot of PvPers are already talking about not buying the latest chapter or quitting? Doesn't sound like it'll work all that well.

Besides, the low PvP pop is not just because of performance. It's also got a lot to do with the fact that there are loads of casual Elder Scrolls fans who are here for the PvE. After all, look how many complaint threads we get whenever MYM rolls around or when they put leads in Cyrodiil. The major base is PvE, they buy the content right away, so they will be focused.

I wouldn't be opposed to them dropping the Q3 dungons DLC or something to do something PvP related, but that'd probably have to come as a basegame update (and imagine the complaint threads there!). But for a whole chapter? I doubt it.

However, I don't want this to end up giving us PvE Cyrodiil. I do only go into Cyro during MYM, but I don't agree that there should be a separate PVE instance. It'd be nice if people from other alliances would live and let live when they see me doing obvious PvE things like delves or story in IC, but c'est la vie.

Come to think of it: Why are the MYM tickets earned for doing PvE activities? I'd put them earnable only through stuff you have to do actual PvP for like Battlegrounds or capture quests, not scouting or IC dailies.

They still have the area north of Varen's wall in the Gold Coast (and there's a mysterious gate to nowhere there) and Colovia grounded by Skingrad, and that also includes Miscarcand for a great public/group dungeon. I could see that being relatively empty, or some legion group in Skingrad is trying to take over and reestablish the empire or something.

There is the question of the low PvP player population it is true.

But about Colovian Estates, I would say that it is a region which was extracted from the war and is controlled by the Empire. It was said by the loremasters on the issues surrounding the situation there.
So there is no chance of PvP there.

I have to agree that ZOS is focused on making money at the current time. With the COVId situation happening, they need to bring in some serious bucks and PVP does not do that for them.

While I doubt ZOS actually going to dedicate dlc, let alone chapter to pvp, it would be nice to have at least new game mode/pvp map coming with it along the way. When was the last pvp update? More than 3 years ago with Morrowind? Of course, pvp population going to decline more and more because of total neglect from both lack of new content and performance issues. And while resolving the latter (even if it's even possible) might increase participation in Cyrodiil for a while it's 6 years old map that needs new content added (achievements, titles, new collectibbeles, etc.) or the population still continue to decline because like every other part of the game it losing it's replayability over time.
Still pretty funny that some endgame pvers think that pvp should be left forgotten. The main moneymakers in this game are housing and overland. I don’t see a lot of people running dlc dungeons as well and considering how rarely I saw people gathering for new trial might as well just scrap that content for the future and drop all OP gear in overland since apparently that's the only reason a lot of players run trials anyway.
All content needs updates, not just what brings more cash.

PVP bring many new players. My friends and I started playing this game just because there was a lot of talk about eso had better pvp than others mmorpg. I will not even try FF14 because the rumors say it has awful pvp.

Right now the word around the block is that ESO pvp is *** because performance and no love from the devs. So I would say a pvp and performance focused chapter should be their top priority.

Questing, story and exploring is already overwhelming and doesn't need more attention.

Even if it is .03% of the player base, the only thing that matters is how much $ they bring in. We know the most hardcore pvpers are some of the more wealthy players in the game buying and selling gold jewelry for eso bucks.

I would love to see how much $ in crowns are made from PVPers (this would also includes crown items gifted to them via eso buck trades).

Nice, but... what is the point if PvP in general does not work 90% of the time ? Skill delays, skill not working, bar swap not working, health de-syncs...

Until Cyro works as it did back in 2014 - 2015, any new PvP content will be automatically worst content...

Besides, I think that ZOS makes most of its cash from ehm.. "casuals" (sorry for using that term). You know, housing, RP, overland, questers, explorers etc. End game players (both PvP & PvE) are unfortunately the minority. So I don't see how ZOS will go all of the sudden for a "Year long story" and all new zones will be PvP zones. That would be bad & toxic af. At best, we can get some PvP content instead of DLC dungeon, or in form of PvP Arena (separate instance in PvE zone).

Those race / alliance change tokens are PRETTY expensive. Also skill lines, skyshards. All adds up.

Oh and the mounts and corwn crates, cuz you gotta look lit af riding them lambo mounts in the only area you really get to showcase those apex.

Personal note here, most of the PVPers I know buy the above or get change tokens (and crown crates) via crown gifting, not go out and farm the above, and they do buy often for new characters based on new metas and wanting to try other classes / skills.

    It's expensive and pretty regular.

Not arguing just giving you a different perspective on how much regular PVPers may spend. Even with all the flaws that Cyro has atm, people keep going back for punishment and still doing the above. It's virtual crack.

Cinan Tharn | Imperial, Vampire - Dragonknight <Tank>
    Tyrus Septim | Imperial - Sorcerer <Lightning/Shock Damage>
Bates Vesuius of Dawnstar | Imperial - Dragonknight <Fire Damage>

    mmoRPG personal lore:
Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard Paladin and the wielder of Chrysamere; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. (not only Sai Sahan has a secret snowflake!) Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from undead, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being from Hammerfell, and a Redguard wields two massive swords in respect to the Ansei. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight.

Jux Blackheart a master thief that was frequenting the Sisters of the Sands inn for pilfering during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of this and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight and his greed. He lost two fingertips as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught...

Kaotik Von’Daemon is an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, a Breton monk and two Imperial soldiers. One of the Imperials claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (Ras Kalik's mentor in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn is really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son, that was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired battle-mage soldier and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn is also a master of disguise, and uses his disguises while he robs various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Tharn also runs an illegal gambling ring...

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a Breton and also a prominent monk of the Cult of the Ancestor Moth, was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Ancestor Moth cult worshippers wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure. Ras Kalik did indeed notice the sword however, and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Breton men have parted ways for now... While Ras Kalik is off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little does Kalik know a few people are awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The one known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons, is awaiting his arrival also.

The journey to Senchal will also put him on a path to meet a strange man which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is only known as "the member C-4", as he gave up his born name when joining the cult. Cee Fôr is on a path to spread the disease as he was infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Cee For know, the infection is tied to Vampirism, but eventually the need for blood, will take over.

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected) within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in the Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Bates Vesuius of Dawnstar - grandfather of Silus Vesuius.

Uri Ice-Heart - twin of Urfon Ice-Heart. Twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart that are originally from Markarth but are now residing on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, their younger sister Araki has also relocated but she is in Windhelm currently. The twins joined the Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed east to Hammerfell with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri sent his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety to avoid the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. (but he doesn't know his sister has moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild). After hearing of Urfon's death... Uri left the Reach and is seeking vengeance.

The fact that Cyrodiil is buggy mess and not working at prime time is not a good argument why we can't have new pvp content. Battlegrounds and Imperial city run as good as any other part of the game. Even Blackreach and below 50 campaign are usually fine. So adding new game mode would help spread Cyro population a bit more and attract more players to the game. Win-win.

Unlikely, there is a reason why ZOS doesn't put much money into PvP because only a small % of the games players do it frequently enough

Ever consider that people don't do it frequently enough because the current PvP systems are pretty mediocre? A basic PvP DLC with an arena system, better designed open world PvP zone, etc, could bring back old PvPers that quit, entice new players to start playing ESO, and encourage current ESO players to start PvPing more.
