The really weird thing is, they keep trying to fix it, but its mouse steps. And behind the scenes they keep making changes that they prioritize just as much as fixing the lagg, but these fixes keep making the lagg worse. Like the removal of animation canceling that opened a brand new problem of skill lagg and desyncs wich only keeps making the actual lagg feel 10x worse then it used to be. 2 steps forward, but 5 steps backwards.
The kicker is, they refuse to revert these "improvements" that breaks the game even more and steam on ahead trying to fix problems that they create along the way, its a trainwreck thats still moving and it dont know its already crashed. Dangerous tracks..
I agree, if this game was reverted to around Morrowind it actually might be playable, everything afterward seems to be even more stress to the server
Issue is, they wont revert, they'll keep going forward, and if they do.... Then they should stop ALL content for a year at LEAST to focus purely on fixes / optimization and just stop throwing more crap out there
ZOS has decided, based on the data available to them, that bringing in new players and aiming to keep them around through grindy content loops, cosmetics, and TES nostalgia is more profitable than fixing the deep structural problems in their netcode. They are probably right, as that is exactly what has happened over the course of the last two years. The game is never going to get better.

It is amazing how many mind readers play this game. They all know exactly what ZoS is doing and what their motive is. Even more amazing is that people think ZoS has a very small team that can only work on one thing at a time.
Name any online game that doesn't have issues like lag, desyncs, freezes, crashes, bugs etc. And then go to that games forum or google it and you will see no different threads than here, "game unplayable ", " they dont know what they're doing ", " something op or broken " and so on.
