Will these features possibly be implemented in the future?

1. Class change tokens, I'm aware the dev team has no interest in adding this at the moment but will it eventually be implemented in the future? I think adding it, whenever that may be, would be a good thing.

2. Character selection backgrounds, this is the thing I'm mainly interested in. The Dominion Alliance character selection background looks gorgeous but sadly Covonent and Pact don't have similarly beautiful backgrounds, while they represent each respective alliance I think it would be nice to choose between different backgrounds. Maybe choose between backgrounds that represent each zone(or a few)from a character's alliance? For example, Covonent could choose between a Glenumbra, Stormhaven or Rivenspire background, Dominion could choose between a Grahtwood, Reapers March or Auridon background and Pact could choose between Stonefalls, The Rift or Eastmarch background

3. This one is a stretch, but maybe have the option to marry an NPC? They could move in with you and could make a meal for you once a day like in TESV. This crossed my mind after I finished summerset.... I was so happy to see Darien again ;-;

4. Now this is a pretty big one so I wouldn't be surprised if it's never implemented but I figure it's worth asking. Daedra and Aedra are pretty common topics in Tamriel right? So how would a Daedric/Aedric Worshipper skill line sound? I have absolutely no idea how this would work though... Maybe have Daedric/Aedric artifacts implemented as skills?

5. Crafting non-combat pets or mounts, some pets are made out of metals or plants so it would be interesting to craft them

EDIT: 6. Dying pets would be nice

Well that's all, does anyone know if any of these are planned? I'm not making suggestions, I'm just wondering if any of these especially 1 and 2 are planned or considered for the future, even if it's a few years from now.

Mods, devs or anyone who's knowledgeable about this stuff a response would be appreciated.

I think the closest we'll get to a daedric skill line is sorcerer's summoning skill line. I mean what do daedric worshipers really besides summon daedra and cast spells, it's a pretty well fleshed out daedric skill line as is if you think about it.

I can't imagine they would ever let us craft mounts and non combat pets, sadly, as that would be in direct competition to their crown store.

    1. Not going to happen so far as we can tell, and I hope it remains that way.
It will happen. It is only a matter of time.
People were saying the same about Alliance Change Token. And what do we have on PTS ?

As to when it will happen I am not sure. Maybe 3 - 5 years in the future, when we will have more new P2W classes and ZOS will be afraid of veterans leaving the game.

Only thing on the list I'd like to see is a class change token.

If I have a concept I want to try, I give it the full shot. That is, I invest 6 months+ into bringing the character up (horse, undaunted, FG, MG, Alliance skills, supporting crafting skills to have better food/potion duration, etc. Though this has often worked well, I have a magblade and a bow/bowblade that have been given the full fair shot and I have concluded I don't want to play them. I would love to change their class to be able to save much repetitive grinding if I wanted to try another class. As things are, I simply avoid starting any new characters.

More importantly, a class change does not hurt anyone. For those who don't favor the idea, simply don't use the option. More flexibility and choices is generally a good thing.

The fact that ZoS has said they currently have no such plans means nothing. They can (and do) change on a whim rather regularly.

On the Greymoor PTS, the character screen background is of the new expansion and not the characters alliance. Someone said years ago they should allows us to change them to the homeland of our races and Zos took notice as they commented on it. This is the first change we have so maybe we will get more this year

Untrue. When you have a class change ability then players have to follow the perceived FOTM class whether they want to or not, or they get kicked from groups etc. Additionally, developers will tweak the balance of the classes every update in order to sell more class change tokens, and that impacts on all players whether they use the tokens or not.

Players don't have to follow the what "class is best at the moment nonsense" and if a group kicks you for playing a class you want to play and are good at, then you were better off not grouping with them in the first place.

    1. Never say never......people said that about alliance change tokens and well we are getting them...

2.Yes, With Greymoor we get an updated background...But as you stated people might not want that, they would want the background to fit the character maybe. can see some more being added to the game......and of course the crown store!

    3. Maybe, we know that theya re looking at making homes more alive. This might be a feature, but would be like the banker or merchant however not an NPC in game....or the might add those later...you never know.

    4. Has been mentioned before several times. Be interesting if anything like that was added, but think would be way in the future.

    5. Back to point number three, they might add this feature to put into your home.

Let us marry Darien Gautier, place him in our home, and have him wander around as our housecarl? This is the best idea I have seen in these forums, ever. Please make this happen @ZOS_RichLambert :relaxed:

I will disagree, here is my point:

If we are talking about hardest content like trials & achievement runs - you already have to be certain class / race / gear combo in order to participate. As a result, if you were unlucky to for example & rolled certain race / class when you 1st started playing the game (your main) then you have no hopes to get certain rewards as titles for example are not account wide.

When it comes to normal group content, like dungeons, dlc dungeons and some vet dungeons - people don't vote-kick, unless they will get wiped several times times. Only then, some people lose their nerves and will start blaming each-other. Also I have not seen anyone trying to kick someone because certain player was not using certain gear or was not running certain class or race. Basically - of all goes well, vote-kicks do not happen.

Besides, currently you can always create new alt that is certain race / class combo - as long as you have free character slots... and this brings us to the final, most important point imho.

ZOS does no like hoarding. They obviously try to limit our inventory space, so more people would use ESO+ for more bank & Craft Bag. So obviously, there will be a point that they will stop increasing maximum character slots - because players use those as storage space for gear. ZOS does not want you to keep "unlocked" (farmed) gear. They want people to sell nerfed gear & re-farm buffed gear (look for example at whole vMA / vDA gear drama). Basically - at some point we won't have more Character slots.

Another, most important thing is (paradoxically) Class Change token is a perfect way to achieve true class balance...
...But how, you will say ?! Players will simply roll / switch to better class, right ? - And that is exactly the point.

Imagine for example, that we have a class change token. What happens next is we have a lot of players switching classes from the ones that are underperforming to the ones that are over-performing (lest say NB to Necro etc.) As a result global population of certain class is decreased drastically, and the others are increased drastically. That way ZOS has a lot of internal statistics and will see what class used most often in certain content (PvE / PvP) or role (Tank / DPS / Healer). Basically, they will know what to buff / nerf.

Sure, you may say that there is a risk of even more P2W classes, but I don't think that will happen. ZOS usually tends to appeal mostly towards new players, with each year-long story. Imagine how it would look like if a new player was told that they also need to buy X class when they bought the game... because base game ones are "meh"...

The thing is that "P2W", happens only if you start comparing weakest class to the strongest class (Nb vs Necro.. um, yeah ; Templar vs Ncero... um, not so much etc). Also the whole P2W stuff is a bad PR for all games (games as services in particular) so ZOS will want to avoid it. Every mmo games has updates, and often older stuff gets updated to current standards to lessen the power creep. It happened in the past updates, so it will happen in future ones.

    TLDR:
Class change token will happen at some point in the future, either to sell convinces, or sell less Character slots (ZOS does not like hoarding, they want you to use ESO+), to make class balance better (more statistic data of most popular classes etc.) or (at worst) to sell class upgrades, if they will decide to go "P2W" - but it will be too obvious and many would quit.
