On an typical night of playing for a few hours I’ll probably die 10ish times on average.

No doubt. Clearly there is a lot of subjectivity on this and no scientific data to use. Just kind of wondering to myself what the benefits of an all defensive strategy vs an all out offensive strategy would be. For me switching to all out offense only saw my deaths raise maybe 10%. Meanwhile I can kill all but the absolute best tanks. Not saying I will, just that I can. Many people simply wouldn’t be able to even try.

Yeah I tend to agree here. Since probably 80% of my deaths end up with me getting cc’d/dog piled by several people, I’m not gunna survive that whether I’m wearing a tankier build or damage build anyways. So might as well build for damage and get more kills in the meantime.

I try to pick and choose my battles there. Im a coward and will be very cheap to ensure I die as little as possible.

it's funny, when I'm on my magblade - not dying can almost become an issue...
can't tell you how many times I've trailed behind some ally group heading towards an enemy's home keeps (usually to retrieve or take a scroll) and that group will get all killed off, but, because I'm on a nightblade I'm able to simply cloak away before I can be cornered or killed...
i'll usually end up just riding around to do some sightseeing in an area I haven't visited for a while and take a break from fighting...
I sort of feel like there's little excuse for ever dying on a magblade...
When I play I typically do something like a 2 hour Cyrodiil sesh and end up with around 4 deaths (counted via an addon). So on average probably this.

A kill/death leaderboard is quite lacking. They should add it along with things like most damage taken in one life, most heals, most damage, even most rezzes and repairs.
