Fishing Suggestion - Wet Gunny Sacks - Increase Items

Wet Gunny Sacks are disappointing. I don't mind getting crafting items, but it would be nice if they were buffed a little.

1. Add a chance for gold level mats

2. Bump the numbers:
  • White Mats: 10
  • Green: 7
  • Blue: 5
  • Purple: 3
  • Gold/Yellow: 1
It's not a huge improvement, but it would be a welcome one.

Thank you.

Got to love the sacks which contain a single Ta. Very generous.

    Sacks are no incentive whatsoever.

They are the treasure chests of fishing.

Both should have some serious thought applied to work out what would make them genuinely desirable.

A random motif, furnishing plan, or sought after mat could be a significant incentive. And I’d guess relatively simple to implement.

But given they almost forgot to put foul water into Summerset, it’s clear fishing is very, very low on ZOS’s just out of time delivery process.

It would certainly provide an added incentive to go fishing, which lets face it is mind numbingly boring.

I would love a chance for sacks in any zone to drop things like motifs and recipes and such. They could even add fishing-only notes and lorebooks to sacks for those who like things like the Eidetic Memory challenge.

But first I was just hoping the sacks would go from awful to meh, hence the boost to crafting spoils.

This would be a welcome change.

It would be especially nice to see some of the gamble box exclusive style pages added to them. Locking weapon/armor styles behind gamble boxes never should have happened, but for some reason didn't garner the outrage that the Pyandonean pages did. Remember that, folks? The outrage around Pyandonean only being in gamble boxes led to them being introduced in the fishing tables for Summerset. The same should be done with the gamble box style pages that have been introduced since then.

I was just thinking of this. I'm max level and max crafting, I don't need another Ta or Honing Stone. Please make them more interesting for longtime players!

I feel like they have improved fishing in the newer areas (like Summerset) but never went back and updated these. I agree that it's time. :)
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Well.... that sack came out of Bangkorai. So....

I'm ONE DAMN BLUE FISH from master fisher on my last of 4 toons. I bet it takes me another week.... and then I AM DONE.

Though I do have to say it wasn't as boring as fishing in WoW. Marginally not as boring.

Ive been fishing for perfect roe, but the time investment just isnt worth it for how little perfect roe recipes bring to the table over their purple counterparts.

    Awesome idea OP !! :)

I certainly respect anyone that has the patience to get the achievement Master Fisher and the title Master Angler.

Maybe buffs such as this would be an incentive for ZoS to
    re-vamp fishing.

It would be nice if this idea was passed on to the higher ups.

As it stands now, the gunny sack is more of a time sink than a pleasant surprise. Oh cool, what could be in this sack? Yay! A ta. :( I would much prefer the fish. Now the bottles and satchels, while still a gamble, generally do put a smile on my face. Would love to see a better payout for the gunny sack even if it is in quantity of contents.

Unless im doing achieves, summerset is the only place i fish and even then if i can clean out two holes that is a good day. Even what your offering in gunny sacks isnt enough to entice me to spend any time fishing.

What i was like to see is:
    1) After you get the angler achieve for the zone, more frequent catches of green and blue fish in that zone. Green fish updated to 100 gold and blue fish to 500 gold.
    2) Each zone you get angler in reduces your "bite" time slightly in all zones.
    3) A purple fish, worth 10k, that you only have a chance of catching after you get angler in 75% of zones.
    4) A gold fish , worth 200k, that you only have a chance of catching after you get master angler in all current zones
    5) Greatly improved gunny sack with one of the following:
*10-20 of a single skill level appropriate crafting material. Can be anything from wheat to ore.
    *6-10 green improvement material
    *3-6 blue improvement materials
    *2-3 purple improvement materials
    *1 gold upgrade material.
    * treasure map for any zone
    * survey for any zone
    * Zone appropriate motif page
    * Zone appropriate furnishing print.
    * Deed Fragment to one of the following fishing exclusive houses(BoP):
    - Angler's Shack: An apartment size shack right off the docks, 3 good sea fishing spots nearby. 10 fragments to this deed.
    - Angler's Bungalow: Small house in a marsh, 3 good foul water spots nearby. 25 fragments for this deed.
    - Angler's Cabin: Medium house on a stream, 3 good river fishing spots nearby, 75 fragments of this deed. Req: You must have angler in every base game zone for your alliance for this deed to start appearing.
    - Angler's Mansion: Large house on a lake, 3 good lake spots nearby. 250 fragments for this deed. Req: You must own 1 other Angler home AND have angler in all base game zones except Cyrodil.
    - Angler's Paradise: Huge( Notable) home on its own private island( more temperate/northern inspired than Grand Topical Getaway), 1000 fragments. This island has its own fishing holes (2 of each type) that have double the "fish" and respawn 6 hours after being depleted. Additionally it has its own seaworthy vessel. When leaving the home via exit, you will be taken to the map screen and you may pick your destination from any harbor. Req: You must own 3 other Angler homes and have Master Angler in all base game zones including Cyrodil before this deed will appear.

Overall you would still catch mostly white fish. About 4 out 5 catches would be white fish for a beginning angler. A master angler might expect 3 out of 5 white fish catches. Furthermore, a beginning angler might require 10-30 seconds before getting a bite, while a master angler might get a bite every 5-10 seconds.

Make fishing interesting and a fun mini game not some token cheese they threw in so they can check it off their " We are a real MMO!" bucket list.

I say up the table, period.

There's no reason a gunny sack wouldn't have various objects in them. You could choose the random "treasures" (essentially pre-cleaned steal-ables); various *small* housing items (dice/goblets/plates, etc.); furniture patterns, treasure maps and surveys.

They should also, typically contain grey garbage. Waterlogged/water-soaked items. Spoiled food.

I find it hard to believe that all of ESO's sailors and merchants, as a whole, decided gunny sacks were for nothing more than Ta Runes (which is almost the only thing I find in them lately).

Gunny sacks *can* be oiled canvas/burlap or made from sealskin, etc. So there's reasonable expectation that some of the things could be usable.
