No LA? That's a huge fundamental for parsing a big dps loss if you dont use it

This original post is baseless. Of course you're gonna parse like absolute garbage if your gear is not optimal and not golded out

If your weaving is non existant or too slow, your parse is gonna suffer

Trust me, I've seen plenty of max cp players with golded BiS gear who hit like absolute potatoes on the 3mil or 21mil

Gear, cp and PLAYER SKILL is how you hit well on a dummy

You can still hit decent numbers if you dont have all the requirements as long as your rotation is decent

Well, some people caught one of those uber Youtube elites cheating a DPS mannequin with a block cast macro.
This is what happens when you have a broken gameplay engine and promote glitches to game features.

My sustain is down about 80%

They literally f****d my main char up the a**e then s**t all over it for good measure

What I want to know is how are you dealing 12k nearly 13k dps with light attacks alone? I light attack weave every skill, every bar swap and still at most my light attacks will be roughly between 3-6k dps depending on the build Im using.

Iiiiiiinteresting. I personally enjoy LA weaving but for whatever reason drew the line at block weaving, at least as part of a rotation (if you've ever been in combat, started an attack, then had to stop to block or bash... Congratulations, you just animation canceled). I play on a controller and my block/bash controls are basically the same, so I end up bashing myself out of stamina.

No, no macros, just thousands of parses to refine basically every piece of the rotation. And perfected/legendary gear.

I wish that everyone could have easy access to the PTS. I think that the most enlightening test would be for newish and less experienced players to be able to go in and make max CP characters, grab the legendary perfected gear sets, then parse. What would THOSE numbers look like?

Everytime i look at parses i see light attack as the main damage dealer, i just don't see how you can do that much damage with light attack, even fully boosted

That's where mouse macros become to be believable. In order to go from 5k to 20k you MUST weave with a 10 millisecond accuracy, you must save every millisecond so that the chain effect builds up to 20k.
Furthermore, some skills cannot easily be weaved or bar swapped, so some guys block cancel, even in PvE. All of this with a true machine-precision that really makes people suspicious.

Basically, I think that Youtubers etc. don't use real macros (Autokey and similar) but do use mouse "aids" and then they tell that they are not using anything.
Unless you open their mouse setup software you cannot really know.
It's even harder to know because some high end mouses (I have some) also have pre-programmed setup and LCD display below their body.

No, we do not use aids or macros or cheat.

We've just practiced for hours on a dummy to perfect our rotation.

It's literally like any other skill in the world: you have to practice to get good at it.

You are literally one of the most trustworthy, you don't flash 100k+ damage all the time like it's water.

Don't forget you get a lot extra damage from vma staff. If you don't have a vma staff on a magicka build you will never get to 20k la dps just a little hint. And if you do less dmg check it you really hit all light attacks, it should be (sum of all lightattacks) / fightime = 0.85-0.95 if it's any lower you are missing some

vMA staff is probably part of the phenomenon. The higher your LA damage, the higher it pumps it further.
Anyway even with vMA staff, going above 10k LAs DPS pertains to the esoteric.

Anyway ppl parse quite high in the actually trials coz of some support changes and new sets. Like Warden has minor vuln now so we can wear another dmg supporting set in them healer for example

She wants footage of you... Hands, pc screan and all. Showing off what programs you have up, while ideally with like a regular £5 keyboard and mouse, Playing the game showing you able to pull the numbers proposed.

Im not sure what the point of doing parses without cp and gear accomplishes.

I cant believe how many whiners this thread has. If you set up your toons right and are practicing your rotations, it shouldnt be too hard to pull good numbers. Im not the best dps, but i still pull competitive numbers cus i put the work in. I have raid members who practice 30 min every time they log to keep fresh.

Trying to discredit by saying its their gear or theyre using macros is pretty transparent, you are hating on people who have achieved more at the game tham you.

I've been hesitant to talk about how much I've practiced in this thread because I'm sure I'll be accused of having too much free time. But since it's been brought up...

I've got friends who do mostly PvP for fun. Others enjoy running vet HM dungeons most of the time. Me? I enjoy parsing. Testing builds, testing skills, working to get skill combos down. I can generally pick up weaving on new classes more quickly now, so I don’t have to go through this with every class I try at this point, but my first character was a stamblade and I practiced every single aspect of the rotation: working on LA weaving each skill separately. Being able to chain those together while maintaining LA weaving. Bar swapping… when I’m on my stamblade, Barbed Trap is usually the first skill I cast after a bar swap. Do you want to know how long it took me to get the hang of bar swap -> pause -> LA -> trap enough to be able to do that consistently? A very, very long time. I’ve done thousands of parses to get these rotations down, and every single piece has been practiced extensively, and it took months and months or practice for me to break 40k and about that long to hit the high 40s.

DPS aside, I’m actually a really terrible player. My situational awareness is severely lacking, and apparently I can’t multitask by putting a lot of focus into both DPSing effectively and not dying. I’ve seen videos of guild trials back from when I was first trying to get the hang of DPS and rotations and whatnot, and I was clearly so focused on getting the rotation right that I’d abandoned everything else- I moved around like a cracked-out hummingbird and you can see the poor healers trying to run after me as I ran away from their heals. In addition to just enjoying parsing and experimenting, the extensive practice has allowed the rotation/DPS style to become muscle memory. When I don’t have to think much about my rotation and can rather instinctually keep up my damage, I can put a lot more focus into the whole “staying alive” thing, which is a whole lot more important than simply outputting high DPS numbers.

You do realize that the specific numbers aren't really the topic of the thread, right? It's about the effect of gear and CP, and you should be able to replicate the same tests using your own builds yourself.

1. Do your normal parse with whatever set gear and rotation you normally do.
2. Do the parse again in plain, no set, white quality gear, same rotation.
3. Do both tests with and without CP.

The OP saw their DPS halved with white quality, no set gear. What's your result: Halved, more, or less severe?

Go ahead, and don't scrimp, I am curious myself now, to see if you can do it. I wanna see you on a bargain bin keyboard and mouse, with no addons, camera showing yourself, hands screen and all, all programs shut down in the background pulling 50k dps on a 3mil dummy.

Seee I don't even class what youtubers and twitch streamers do in ESO as "thorough testing" I mean literally a monkey could do there job these days. No offence to them and all.
