Was tanking fungal grotto normal with a a group finder group two days ago... one dps who came in as a healer (which we didn’t need but he still did it just to get in faster you can already see what kinda player he was and no not a smart one)... ran ahead of the whole group and beat the final boss before we could catch up with him cause the other two players were low cp ... so I wanted to make sure they weren’t dying ...

He beats final boss we didn’t get credit ... no gold plunder etc..

Bottom line people are jerks ... Wish more people who joined a groups would understand they aren’t the only one there

When people run ahead the only reasonable thing to do is to kick them
I simply must protest. There are no Penguin avatars for me to use in the forums.

    BTW, I use arch too

Eww. I always follow the big dps who just solo everything. If that guy kill boss fast and don’t need me to taunt at all. Great, less work for me, time to read news on Reddit XD.

My experiences have been vastly different than mentioned here.

I've had people who've helped me be a better tank, told me my role, etc.
I've had people stay and help lower levels do quests, often quite difficult for anyone who doesn't have CP at all.

Overall, most people I've played with have been informative and quite helpful in the community.
I even had one guy who had like 800 CP tell me,

"Tank, you got a bright future ahead of you" as if he were like this really old car mechanic, and I was applying for a job or something lol.

Me too. I started as a healer years ago and 3 ppl from mechanically challenged carried me through vet ruin of mazz. I truly believe higher skilled players are nicer and potatoes are a lot meaner.

I’ve been “kicked” for being a dps who runs ahead and kills everything in a normal dungeon.

I’ve been kicked for a being a dps who wasn’t dps enough.

I’ve been kicked because I didn’t say hello when the group first formed.

I’ve been kicked right as we begin fighting the last boss for who knows what reason.

    I cried every time.

You should be kicked for running ahead. The other players didn't join to be your cheerleaders they joined to participate.

PuG is the perfect environment for the chaos of 4 people 'Playing Their Way". If you want to play with like minded players, create your own group. If you join a PuG, you are at risk of someone not being like minded, and may do things in a way you dislike.

In Non-DLC Normal dungeons (and Some DLC ones) I will happily run ahead and slaughter everything. But! I wait at the bosses. That is my compromise. I won't take away a chance at Gear from the people, and If there is a quest, I stop at the check points and wait to see if anything is doing it. But I will burn through the trash because..well..it's trash. When I can kill Trash with nothing more than 2 quick AoEs, I'm not waiting.

That is essentially my argument. You want to play your way create your own group. You wanna run ahead form a group of people that want to chase you. If you sign up to be a part of a group be a part of that group. You happily running ahead is denying others their chance to enjoy the experience. Might be time for you to step up to vet content if you can't wait for players that are not able to simply AoE trash on the way by.

Thats what I meant about the chaos of “play your own way”. I want to play a certain way, but you also want to play a certain way. The two others may want to play their way. But in a PuG, it is basically “anything goes”. Out of 4 players, whos way should you play?

The answer most will choose is, their own way.

In a PuG you suck it up and go with the flow. Otherwise you can leave and create your own group.

This is an easy one to answer. You queue as a group you play as a group. That means you do not run ahead. If you want to stand behind the healer heavy attacking with your bow fine. Just do it as part of the group. If you want to run ahead get a group that wants to follow you or solo. If you are running ahead you are not being a part of the group. Really simple. Do not run ahead. Your certain way is not group play so why group except for the bonus XP. You are ruining the experience for three others because you want a few extra points. Slow down and play with the group you queued with. Do whatever you want as a part of the group just include the group.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

just going to copy past what i just said before

how about q ppl at the same lv i am tired of q as tank for dlc pledges and ending op with a 2 cp 200 dps who dont know the mechanics and hit like a wet noodles. and this is not to be elitist but it is a wast of time to try and carry them true since thy dont have any chance to hit the dps that is needed and thy dont know the mechanics and 90% thy dont speak a word of English so you cant progress and you end op leaving
Don't worry girl I'm a Sorcerer, i got my Hardened Ward for protection

I play on Xbox, xbox comes, the base with a mic. Please tell the other to ‘COME AS A GROUP PLAY AS A GROUP’.......

Not stand in the back sniping
Not getting one shot by ice aoe
Not dpsing the add when pinned in FG2
Not getting in the green circle in scp......
    Etc etc

I mean if you don’t know what’s going on use your FREE mic and say/ask or else I’ll just carry you dead body the Whole dungeon.

PS: they do seem to find text chat, not to read my mechanics explanation, but to cry for a Rez........

Let's be real here, the problem isn't the dungeon finder. It's people. People are trash for the most part, and I can't imagine anyone playing an MMO doesn't know this. And to the OP, get over it. The playerbase is dying, and for the most part it's only the trolls that are left.

i want to see your support to this statement

??????? Maybe this entire thread? Maybe the fact that healer queues are 5 minutes? Maybe the thousands of posts from people complaining that they can no longer do trials because their guilds are empty?

I'm not even sure which part of the statement you're referring to, but any of them can quite easily be seen in game just by paying any attention at all. And regardless, the problem is still not the dungeon finder. There's no setting programmed in there saying, "Put these *elite* players with a bunch of noobs." It's just the people left in the game that make it feel that way.

As a tank with full cp... I don’t mind if the group (the entire group) wants to push a head as fast as possible and the over feared dps doesn’t mind doin the majority of the work....

But yeah if the rest of the group seems to want to fight each boss (and during an event like this yrah I want the plunder skulls) just cause they can run through it doesn’t mean they should ...

So I’m with you to an extent but I also don’t wanna see them raise the difficulty either ... people just need to communicate better ... and see how the want to execute the instance

If one guy isn’t down for that he should then make his decision stay and do what the team wants or leave ...

Can’t expect much in my scenario where the guy said he’s a healer just go get in faster

You’re at that point already working with a shady person and selfish person ... I get a healer isn’t needed but he took the place of a possible actual healer whom may have been waiting in queue

Unfourtanly the anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in people sometimes. I've been in groups where we had to kick someone and I've also been in groups where I was kicked. I understand many views and reasons why, but I don't think we will ever be able to prevent these types of negative people or actions. This type of behavior will be found in the n00bist of dungeons to the hardest of the hard vet content.

Why can't zos prevent me being put into the same group with them?
I didn't even complain about their trash dps cuz it is normal.
They have issue with tank doing nothing other than poking the boss.

Doing nothing other than poking the boss? That is the silliest thing I have ever heard. If you are DPS then do DPS. If you cannot do DPS then play another game.

80 percent of the time, toxicity comes from end-game players. Max-level or high-level. Elitists. Most toxicity comes from them. I've seen it and had guild members talk to me about it thousands of times.

As you have shown, though, and as I have already stated, toxicity in this game is from everywhere and everyone. There are plenty of toxic new players. There are plenty of toxic players with 5k dps. There are plenty of toxic tanks, healers, and dps.

Toxicity in this game is rampant. But elitists and max level or high-level end-game players make up the majority by far. The toxicity of high level elitists and end-game PvE or PvP players is disturbing

It's not "toxicity" just because someone refused to carry you.

Thank u for calling out entitled 4 digit dps.

Completely with you OP. I'm saying this as someone who is himself a potato DPS.

But that is why I switched to tank and now that I'm in a role I can actually make progress in...

    Yeah.

I think a lot of ESO's group finder problems could be solved overnight if people just accepted that they play better as tank/healer.

I firmly believe most sub-par DPS players would perform quite well in tank/healer roles, if only they were willing to make the switch.

Congrats, I agree progress pve on a tank / healer is faster. You don’t practice parse, u just progress mechanics in trial.

OK, I just want to walk through this...
If you are seeing the damage they are doing then the group has started the dungeon...
so isn't it kind of counter productive to the success of the mission if the group kicks your tank (or anyone else) at that point?
sounds like yu weren't in the Einstein group to begin with.

I was in a group the other day. Banished Cells 2 on vet. When my random popped it was a healer and dps on the end fight. I tried as hard as I could, but my dps wasn't good enough to kill the boss before the tank was overwhelmed with 8+ daedroths. I was pulling 30k - 35k which I thought was respectable for that fight. The other dps? 3k max. He was using Bandit UI with damage so I could see the exact number. It just wasn't going to happen.

35K group DPS is more than enough for that fight. You probably missed some mechanics such as killing the bubbles that heal the boss.
That's the problem with DPS-obsessed players : they don't know mechanics.

Biggest misconception ever. 10/10 I laugh every time I hear that.🙃

I truly believe higher skilled players are nicer and potatoes are a lot meaner.

maybe if you stopped calling people potatoes they would be nicer to you?

    This.

Times infinity. And a lesson worth taking into life. People treat you with more consideration when you’re not being constantly rude.

If you want to be picky about who you play with... go find your own group. It’s really not that hard and looking at some of the posts here, it will make you and the poor players you get grouped with have a much better experience. You can still get your random dungeon XP. If you’re too lazy, unfriendly or otherwise so challenged that this is beyond you, you don’t get to whine about the abilities of the players you get grouped with.

3 of 4 are valid reasons :) I personally would never kick person for for not saying hello (while I find it rude and it usually means you dont care about party members, have no emotional commitment to the team and treat them as npc - that could lead to a situation, where you leave a group without saying the word after a wipe or two, wount trade some important loot after the fight etc etc).

But going ahead of tank might be irritating for players who queue to learn tanking or group play or doing that dungeon for the first time and want to follow story etc. And if you are the only non-guild member..Easy solution.

As for low dps - perfectly normal if its a hard dung. Few things can be worse than extremely low dps from dd.

These ppl doing 4 digit dps and want tank to attack and do damage, when i tell them i am a tank it is not my job they just kick.

Srsly zos, this dungeon finder is so anti tank. Can we please have a 2 tier que so i get to play with half decent players only?

Spare me some pain, so i don't need to deal with these ppl. I don't see toxic elitist, all i see is entiled potato abuse the system.

This isnt an anti tank or group finder issue at all. This is an issue with you ending up in a group of complete idiots. It happens. Move along and direct your energies elsewhere.
