Makes you want to hurt/sue someone.
It obviously did NOT connect to the login servers and the validation of userID <-> password failed.
But we are still presented with messages telling us that it's our fault.
Just like the "issues, some player are experiencing". Which everybody experiences... except the players not attempting to play the game, or maybe the devs on their internal server -.-

"Username or password may be incorrect or inactive at this time"
is actually correct that is a HUGE problem as it would indicate a massive hack or deletion of potentially hundreds or thousands of accounts. More than likely, ZOS (as usual with error messages) is putting the blame on players instead of just saying,
"There is an issue with our login servers. Please contact support or check the forums for more information."3 -
