I'd like to point out that 90% of your issues with the home would be solved if you Previewed the home before dropping $100+ dollars on it.

People being defensive about other players pointing out game issues to the devs blow my mind. They're like "DON'T BOTHER THE DEVS, THEY HAVE MY ISSUES THAT THEY SHOULD BE FIXING" and like... no ?

Also, I'm yet to see anyone blaming user yodased for daring to waste the devs' time with his own @ZOS. Better to "bother" the devs asking them to fixa genuine game issue than to bother them just to be snide, yes ?

Please, take a look at the ideas housing community managed to gather in this thread, some are really worth implementing. We would love to be able to preview empty houses and get rid of the rubble. We would like to see less bad textures but more well planned rooms.

P.S. That cottonwool water may need a fix as well

I know, anyone who has done some shopping (and has watched their mum do it, before them) gets that we have to fight for our rights, with these corporations, every step of the way.

Whereas, many people who play these games seem to be locked into the zombie-like mindset of "The devs are our friends.", or something similarly ridiculous and just let the corporations walk all over them.

You might like a dev, you might like a game, but it is just a product, being sold by a corporation, at the end of the day.

If it doesn't work you complain and you keep complaining until they make it work.

This is exactly my point. I know, that I wouldn't get much if it comes to general design, but by pointing out what went wrong with this house I could help devs avoid similar issues in the future.

On top of that we've got some really nasty stuff going on in Lakemire Manor, which needed fixing. I don't see anything wrong with putting them all in one post instead of two separate ones.

Together, we've got to really nice solutions and I would love to see ZOS implementing at least some of them.

I never noticed that wall behaved like that!

Personally though I love the roots, pillars, lake you have to swim in to get places (or build walkways of some sort).

I am also OK with the rubble but I agree that it is very inconsistent on what rubble is removable and what isn't (Pariah's Pinnacle had removable rubble and so does Hall of the Lunar Champion but other homes do not).

I like the idea of an "empty" preview so that we can all see what is/is not movable/removable before buying and that option shouldn't be THAT hard to implement.

Once you notice how crazy this wall is you can't unsee it. Sorry for that

If it comes to pillars and roots I understand that some would like to keep them as they indeed may add to their idea of the house. Thus I would rather suggest making them furniture - there are not so many to jeoparidse your item count and some people, including myself, would be happy to remove what they don't like, or what gets in their way.
Personally, I like how the pillars look but get really irritated with how they limit the functional space. (Imagine myself shouting at my monitor trying to accomodate quite complicated custom built "wall decor" in the pinnacle room and getting frustrated as ef with 6th failed attempt) I would simply make the rooms a bit bigger (without adding extra pillars) or give players a chance to remove the pillars at will.

Great thanks to everybody, who commented about my rambling, who agreed and disagreed with me, as it allowed this thread to gain some momentum! Recently added homes show improvment comparing to the old ones (removable structures), thus it keeps me hopeful that ZOS managed to digest some of our suggestions. Thank you again guys!

Well so we just had a housing event and I go to show off my xanmeer and oh look, all my candles are now all *** up!!! Awesome!!!

I don't think it's too much to ask for a warning somewhere reasonable on the forums. Now I'm having to retrieve candles and other items now stuck inside the wall.

Please let us know when things like this are going to occur in the future because this is really crappy to deal with. Thanks.

Well, the best solution is to make the house properly

No fixes, no angry people. And... there is a part of crappy texture in that house left (by the stairs leading to the "cellar" room, big, tough to miss) ... which I never mentioned to check if ZOS were actually going to search the whole house for other "booby traps". But naaaaah, why would they

@GoodFella146 I tried to give kind of a warning under my thread, but apparently it wasn't clear enough. No idea if the wall fix was mentioned in the patch notes, though.

I like to think in terms of real money, not crowns.

Of course I guess if you bought crowns on sale for 14000 at $99.00 plus a small pack for the other 1000 crowns you are looking at $110.00 so I guess it is a bit less.

but WOWZEE still $110.00 or $150.00 for a digital house. I am surprised all the devs are not driving Rolls Royce.

But I agree with your op. There are a LOT of issues with the houses we are paying extremely good money for that should be fixed.

I have this house and I agree with OP, this house could use some fixes. My biggest problem with it is un-removable debrires and some larger roots & stones on the floor. Even if you did previewed the house - there was no way of knowing that those are permanent. Take a look at the Hall of the Lunar Champion house for example. You actually can remove debries & rocks from the floor... I wish I could do the same in my Pyramid manor...

And 2nd issue is um... lets just say that this houe is expensive. And I dont have ESO+ (it is not a matter of money or something, subscription model is just super unappealing to me), so I have to work with something like 350 furnishing slots... And this house is HUGE... Right now I had to section off the "basement" with a wall and focus on the main chamber and ignore the huge outside area. Maybe 350 will enough for interior only.

Basically speaking, all crown store houses should have higher furnitute cap.

@Tommy_The_Gun I have all the exterior AND the pinnacle room cut off. 700 slots including 208 Tribunal Altars to make it ... not-such-a-huge-piece-of-rubble... 350 may be sufficient if you work with big structural items or give up on covering roots/rubble. You can always get ESO + for a month, decorate the house and then leave it like that (you will have 700 items in the house but won't be able to swap older items for new ones after eso + runs out).

I won't go for increase the item cap song here, but I would highly appreciate a well designed house for the price: where symmetry is taken into account, where it's made "fillable" - not oversized "because we can".

I have an impression that most of the houses are designed by the trainees.

@bayushi2005 This thread isn't a place I regularly look nor should I have to. Stuff like this should be made very apparent on the PTS or provided in patch notes before a patch so I can defend my house against changes like this.
