svendf✭✭✭✭Problem with fake tanking and why it upsets other player´s is that most of the time it makes the dungeon harder and even takes longer.
Player´s are also getting upset because fake tanks is doing a realy bad job most of tte time across cp lvl.
Best to do if you can´t kick them is take the penalty and leave they will end up in a que again
waiting on a new group member, who will also leave because of fake tanking - who know´s. They will end up doing alot of queing.
Remember they hate queing or getting kicked it´s a win win

Oh THANK YOU fake tank, THANK YOU for blasting ahead of the group, not taking at all or waiting for people to do quest stuff. THANK YOU for pulling is all into combat and then leaving the second the final boss is down, not stopping to see if anyone needs to finish the quest or anything. We're all so ETERNALLY grateful for you.
You don't even seem to know what "LTP" means. You're actually taking away people's ability to LTP by pulling this crap- if the only thing that someone knows is blasting through a dungeon ignoring mechanics, they're going to struggle when the mechanics matter. Which is when people like you start to complain and say "LTP"...
You say "LTP" but are actually contributing to the very thing you complain about by fake tanking. So pat yourself on the back a bit more there buddy, nice work.11 -

You are complaining about fake tanks who can't hold aggro, yet also complaining about using players using Inner Fire as a taunt in normal dungeons?
Fake tanks who don't hold aggro at all are obviously a problem.
But any player using Inner Fire, CP 200 or not, ought to be holding boss aggro for 15 seconds, unless the conditions I listed apply. Inner Fire is perfectly adequate in normal dungeons if the player knows what they are doing as a tank, or even as a tank/DD.
Something does not quite compute with your complaint.3 -

Also the problem is some bosses cannot be taunted or have charge attacks that temporarily lose agro on the tank. Players then assume it was something the tank did. I literally spent a chunk of time being knocked around by the wyrd sister with no heals except my own and waiting for them to dps the healer. She also charges. Group asking me to tank better.
What we should be complaining about is fake healers. So many times I have had to heal my group or self while tanking or I would have died. Or fake DPS who cannot pickup the trash/secondary mobs while I tank the boss. With the healer producing more DPS than the DPS.
At which point my shield looks like Swiss cheese and I have been knocked around more then a beach ball at a pool party.4 -

As to the rest : ESO does not HAVE TO work like other MMOs. I'm glad it doesn't work like other MMOs, I'm glad people can play however they want and I'm glad the system doesn't force stupid rules onto them.
Want rules ? Set up your own rules and get your own group together, don't force them onto everyone.

Multiple times I've watched a red phase Centurion target a DD and had them yell "TANK?!!!"
There's nothing I can do but say "The red ones can't be taunted, guys."

Uhm, I have news for you but if you plan on doing raids, you're going to have to tank in the event the tank dies.
My healer can tank quite well. If you're not able to hold aggro and keep yourself alive, you're not a good healer at all.
What? Trial bosses will kill a healer easily. If the tank dies, then off-tank takes over and the group tries to recover.

You're assuming far more things than you should. I wouldn't do that if I were you. Also I wouldn't point the finger at anyone. If someone wants to have their run by talking to NPC's, choosing the quest decisions wisely, take a look at the architecture and stuff, all he/she has to do is type in group chat. If he's ignored by the group then you should complain and point the finger. Majority of players can't even reply to chat when you ask them if they have the quest. So no, I won't wait for those ppl who fail to communicate. My time is far more precious. At the end, blame ZOS because we aren't given the opportunity to solo our random normal.

✭✭✭✭✭Sorry, some of us play at times where there may not be any guildies willing to run a dungeon, so it's not always possible to form a pre-made group.
I really don't think it's too much to ask for players to PLAY the ROLE that they select for. .
It doesn’t require a guild to form your own group though it does help. You can form it from Zone just as easily. Even at off hours there are people in Zone liking for a group. I also suggest friending the tanks you find along the way.
When the game launched the GF seemed to be a HS interns failed project. If you wanted to do a dungeon you formed the group or got into a group someone formed for you.
It worked great.
So take control or give it up to GF. Your choice. But if you think a thread like this will make a difference your wrong. The fake tanks could care less they hurt your feelings
BTW. Kick the fake tank. If you didn’t even try your an equal part of the problem.3 -

It would be really nice if ZOS had some kind of tutorial or message somewhere that gave players basic dungeon etiquette. Maybe in the group finder, as you sign up?

Again, very, very simple.
When a DPS does this to me when I'm tanking I simply ignore them and let them run up ahead pulling everything. 9 times out of 10 they just get slaughtered anyway which is quite humorous to watch and makes the dungeon a little more amusing than it would otherwise be - especially when they keep doing it over and over.
Had a Templar DPS doing this in Vet Volenfell the other day in fact. It was just funny watching his stupidity at work - because he would literally keep trying to rush us by running up ahead and dying again and again... and again. It was like watching a comedy.3 -

Yes I queue as tank everytime for normal because I can facetank everything without problem just by slotting inner fire and having a little bit of survivability. I dont have a tank build, but it doesnt matter. That is how easy normal is.
It is also not my job or responsibility to "give new players the best get go for the first few times", but having said that, fulfilling the tank role is really super easy for normal that it baffles the mind that there are players that fail at it. Additionally if I can see there's a player that dont know mechanics or that is dying I try to help them and generally is patient with them.

They do not know how to do the specific roles of tank or healer, but the game requires you to pick a role. They don't do much in the way of damage but queuing as a support role you don't know how to do is out of the question. So the only option left is DPS. Not everyone starts with high CP, great gear, and a lethal rotation. So would you suggest those people just stay out of dungeons altogether? Then how would anybody learn? At CP640 I've done relatively few dungeons and don't know how I would perform as a DPS. But I know I don't qualify to tank or heal. I'm not the only one who has no idea what you expect inexperienced players to do, when you complain about "fakers" in all roles.0 -

Oh THANK YOU fake tank, THANK YOU for blasting ahead of the group, not taking at all or waiting for people to do quest stuff. THANK YOU for pulling is all into combat and then leaving the second the final boss is down, not stopping to see if anyone needs to finish the quest or anything. We're all so ETERNALLY grateful for you.
You don't even seem to know what "LTP" means. You're actually taking away people's ability to LTP by pulling this crap- if the only thing that someone knows is blasting through a dungeon ignoring mechanics, they're going to struggle when the mechanics matter. Which is when people like you start to complain and say "LTP"...
You say "LTP" but are actually contributing to the very thing you complain about by fake tanking. So pat yourself on the back a bit more there buddy, nice work.

We dont speak about NEW players. Or players who cant play properly their roles. I dont mind such players. I even help them. With advice, or just ingame support. Little push here and there.
We dont mind high CP players, who can solo the entire dungeon and que as a tank/ even hes not/ to cut the 1h que as dps. But once iside, even whitout taunt, he stick with the grp and i dont mean reading notes or watching the lovely interior.
He just do normal run, runing with the rest 3 of the party, killing everything.
Even if he cant hold agro and someone die is np because overal is faster.
All we mind are selfish high CP players who once inside rush to final boss without even say hi. Dont even trying to dps mobs he pass. And let ppl behind to strugle.
We also mind the low levels queing as tanks but runing with no shield or frost staff.
I dont know which are worse, but i hate both of them.

Then either kick the fake tank, run with friends, or dont run at all

People will 'whine' about it until players actually start choosing the roles they are equipped for instead of ruining their party member's dungeon experiences by being a detriment. It's perfectly justified to complain when it's so common, whether you leave or kick, or whatever. I shouldn't have to be abstain from a whole feature of the game just because people are selfish. It's ridiculous.
