It's called ESO 2 - and you have to buy it again.

ZOS has made promises about improving game performance in the past yet nothing was done. They are good at telling the player base what they want to hear.

of all things performance is what matters the most. I don't care about housing, pets, or even chapter/dlc content. If your game doesn't run properly there is no point in even playing the game in the first place.

which is why I'm taking a break. there's simply no incentive for me to enter a terribly laggy environment where frame rates drop whilst gaming on a very solid computer. on high-end machines high frame rates on high details should be consistent.

Not saying you're using a bit of hyberbole here but I very rarely have lag and/or major fps drops while playing. PC/NA The only time I ever really notice a drop in frames is super high population keep battles and even then it isn't guaranteed. ESO isn't perfect, but I'm consistently baffled by how bad it seems to be for other people when I usually have a consistent experience night in and night out.

And you might be using a bit of the useless anecdote.

    Lol what?

50 minutes of the past. 10 minutes of the future. Typical. ZOS has zero vision.

    No.

I was being facetious, ZOS said a lot of this 2 to 3 years ago. I doubt there's going to be any big changes.

5 years of nothing for Cyrodiil. Now, the problems have spread to the PvE areas and suddenly, we started to see schedules with small writings under them; claiming fixes and improvements might shift as the development continues. We know, they will shift into new content creation. Words, words, words with no concrete plan to back them up. Only 'but's and' 'if's.

If the next year game will become like it was year ago i will return to play it.

When you attack not target you target but random target, or load to location for 20 minutes, or you get loading screan in cerodil and load already dead, or can not use skills in pvp - even buffs that last 30 seconds all the time - it is unplayable.

There was no bugs 1 year ago, i hope they fix all this bad thingth.

Are "bug fixes" going to be crown crate exclusive or a brand new DLC content?
Is this a new stunt to quench the forum rage? To buy you guys more time to push more half arsed content so we forget about bug fixes? like with the spell crafting thing...like a couple of days will go by and we hear nothing.... remember that?

I don't have any cash on me but I do have souls. How many souls do you want for them ZOS?

Footnote on the screen: "Note that some fixes and improvements might shift as development continues." So Q1 2025 is my guess.

And in a year from now nothing will have been done and the game performance will be the same or even gotten worse. I don't believe anything ZOS says anymore when it comes to fixing the pathetic game performance issues plaguing their game. They tell the player base what they want to hear and that is the extent of it.

It does look promising. I hate to say that I'll believe it when I see it - but I very much hope to see it !!

I hope that there is also a serious overhaul of the Mac game client, which has been in a terrible state for many months now making the game unplayable for many people.

Fingers crossed that ZoS remains on plan and that we all end up with a better game at the end of it all.

    "Behind-the-scenes combat ability improvements"

What's up with that, did they elaborate?

Likely cleaning up and refactoring code to minimize unnecessary or redundant processing and data calls, and code duplication. It may include streamlining character models and animations. And/or other stuff that you don't see at the player end.

I agree it may be all that. Alternately, it might just be a flaming pile of dog poo.

Judging by today's guild store speed, seems like nothing good has appeared, logged out in disgust waiting for respones!

Lets hope for the best outcome. At least they're trying to work towards a better performing ESO. I know it's not perfect but its better than being completely ignored like much has been over the years.

Sure only thing optimized will be the crown crates. Have seen many promises with little results.

Well, now that they have said more than "it is high priority for us" and released a timeline, we will start to see the fruits of all this.

    They have lied before.

There’s a third option. They didn’t lie, they just failed.

I think the third option is most likely the case. Unfortunately the failures have spanned so many updates that it is overly frustrating for a good part of the player base who play regularly(like yourself and myself). I think the disdain and skepticism are warranted to a degree and unfortunately there are going to be troll that take it to an extreme in every online forum. Also, the lack of communication regarding pretty much anything that is not housing, costumes or the crown store has become a deafening presence within the game. People want to hear updates, want to know that their voice is being heard, and unfortunately up to this point the company has not proven that they can do this.

I am also in the I'll believe it when I see it category.. both from actual performance improvements that are meaningful and actual communication promised. They have until December for me to get my subscription back and then I'll probably suck up the money loss and go month to month because the intervention on the forums is only relevant and existent if its crown store related.

Well, the fact of the matter is that there is no guarantee. Some people may find significant performance increases, some may not.

I hear that. Hopefully they are noticeable in some areas for everyone this time though, those are some pretty significant changes they are proposing. I'm apprehensive personally but hopefully it comes to fruition and continues in the right direction after being live for 5+ years and 10+ of development.

While the performance improvements sound promising, the weight on the other side of the scale for me is the blanket nerf-fest coming with the new dungeon DLC.
I haven't watched the Twitch stream yet but I'm doubting any mention was made for specifically improving performance in Oceania, where Akamai adds more latency on top of already bad performance?

So yeah. I don't think I'm going to be back for anything other than the rest of the Elsweyr story, and most likely won't sub again.

It's a case of too late, I'm afraid.

Edit: with Blizzard releasing Classic WOW, I really wish we could have Classic ESO, which would be pre-resource nerf.

Playing on PTS over the last few weeks, the changes are definitely interesting so far. I'm still a bit on the fence personally. Curious what the last week of PTS will bring before it goes live. I know they have the best of intentions with all of this, but it's just so much all at once.

I really wish they would open an Oceanic megaserver, it's quite surprising after 5 years they haven't already tbh. As frustrating as everything feels right now, hope you will stay.

how will these stop the game disconnecting I cant even write a ticket in game without getting disconnected from the game.
and I'm not the only one who has this problem. there are so many bugs now, basic stuff doesn't even work like having a skill activate on first button press. It seems they create more every time they tinker with the game. I am at the point where I have lost total faith in the dev team to do anything more than add new content which doesn't perform. As for combat I don't think zos can balance pve and pvp unless they separate it completely and even then its hard.

If we are lucky, we may be able to use blastbones and syphon properly by Q2 2020

But wait shouldn't there be a new Chapter released end of Q2 early Q3 to break it all?

and most of this is so they can fit new animations/classes lol.
They did the same thing right before necro released; they adjusted all DOTs to be easier to calculate and fixed some minor performance and then it all got worse when the class released. Imagine if they didnt do all that? lol.
