    I personally have developed a deep and heart-felt hatred for ZOS customer support. But, even I have to admit they did this one right. They brought it down for emergency maintenance. They admitted that in the first 20 minutes.

    That likely means they have no clue what the problem is and, somewhere, a geek is pounding his head on a keyboard hoping to figure it out. Kind of hard to figure out an ETA in that situation. I work in IT. I have managed hordes of IT guys. It is the best you can ask for in the this situation. I can find fault for them for many, many things. This probably is not one of them.

    If you are an IT manager and you find this acceptable, please let me know what company you work for so that I can ensure that you never support any company of mine or that I represent.

    guys, calm down, the game just came out. they have never had the servers on this long. the beta's were only 3 days long each at most.

    Actually, no. The post on the server forums saying we'd have an update within the hour was the best attempt at an ETA that I've seen out of this game. Stop being a jerk. Just because I pay what little money I have to play this game, and just want to know when I'll actually be able to play it, does not constitute being a child.

    Just a quickie; don't hate support for bring down servers, they didn't do it - you work in IT so you know the the decision/reason could come from anywhere, from game bug to broken cable or badly behaving network switch, or CEO spilling a cup of earl grey tea over an admin's keyboard while watching him play Nethack.

    Clearly you didnt do a quick research before playing this game.

    Zenimax Online is known for their incompetency on fixing bugs and for poor customer service communication.

    Dont expect them to announce an eta because they themselves have no idea what they are doing.

    Ive done my research and knew these facts but i love elder scrolls so i still decided to buy this game. But my patience is almost at limit as well but i still try to be considerate as àfter all its only a little over a week old

    Server is rebooting, login restriction has been lifted, still believe they fixed something? or that they cant provide an ETA?

    Actually there was a private test server that was up for more than 3 days at a time.

    No point in refreshing every few seconds. I was a systems analyst and department supervisor for major software development and implementation... and I understand what they are doing... it is one of those things that is operating under the radar. Their machines are supposed to be working better but they are not performing the way they should. There is a mouse in the works somewhere. How long does it take to catch a mouse? Maybe someone will have a brainstorm, slap their forehead and grab that mouse by its tail. Maybe all they can do is set out traps and hope for the best. The best thing to do is keep your fingers crossed.

    Ya the server was still up until now while they were gathering data. It easy to tell has the 5 minute login restriction implies that the server is running, will the permission thing is pretty much the generic message for server no available.

    Which is a not a great testament to the folks working on this game. Also, a good example of why longish open beta's are a great idea.

    They can't post an ETA because they've been unable to wake up all the translators to post it in each language.

    I just mean the 'account does not have permission for this server' is just a generic message for server not available.

    While the maintenance message pretty meant: the server is still up we are gathering data...please wait.

    All your excuses wont make this game work. So many MMO's have died for this same reason. Excitement killed by downtime on prime times....
