The server maintenance times have been posted in the Server Status forum:
Tuesday and Friday 8AM EDT/EST (NA server).

This is an unplanned urgent intervention. Maybe they should say so and give a clue of what they are fixing to calm folks.

Asking for one doesn't help, it requires the devs to be bothered to answer these questions when they need to fix issues to get the server(s) back up. The first 6 months of a game launch will be like this, all we can do is settle down and be patient. After that usually devs start scheduling maintenance with down time and ETA's.

That likely means they have no clue what the problem is and, somewhere, a geek is pounding his head on a keyboard hoping to figure it out. Kind of hard to figure out an ETA in that situation. I work in IT. I have managed hordes of IT guys. It is the best you can ask for in the this situation. I can find fault for them for many, many things. This probably is not one of them.
Umm no, it has been longer than 20 minutes.. Going on 2 hours

It hasn't been down for 2 hours. It's been down like 40 minutes. If you couldn't log on, and were having errors.... OH HEY, maybe that might be an issue they would have to fix. Derp.
They are here to play the game for 2 to 3 months so theJesseLSATb14_ESO wrote: »If you're not a fan- why are you here?

How about you design a game and run the company then you can do what you want, until then be quiet and wait for them to fix what was obviously a big problem.

Lol, take it easy bro, remember this game doesn't require an IQ test or common sense, but if people can't complain they aren't happy. Like i keep saying man, and i apparently struck a nerve on some of these whiners and idiots, just tell them to go create their own game so we can go whine on their forums and see how they feel. Because i bet you all the money in the world they can't do it and if they did it would fail because it would suck

Hope this helps clear up any confusion. Thanks.
At this point just assume it will be down all night. The problems that were occurring were pretty bad. What's funny is that I waited almost 24 hours to get past The Final Assault quest, only to be greeted with downtime. Ahh well..

That is when they know an eta. Not right when they down the server. Would you rather they lie and say...12 hours when they have NO idea yet?
If they lied and said 12h people would find other things to do. Right now we're wondering if it'll be another 5 minutes or not?
Guys - you are looking at this situation all wrong. This is a chance for us to skill up our forum points and earn some badges on here. Relax. As @Taven said - they probably can't make heads or tails of the situation. Give them some time to figure out "what broke this time?"

I disagree. We at least need to know if we should keep refreshing, the same page over and over to check if it's up, (which many people will do), or if we should just give up and walk away for hours. Some estimate is better than none at all.darkkterror_ESO wrote: »I think the amount of nerd rage they'll receive over not stating an ETA is heavily, heavily outweighed by the amount of nerd rage they'll receive over announcing an ETA and then failing to meet it.
