Can we have an update re: Guild History?

    As I said in my post I am personally extremely grateful for even this stopgap. I’m super thankful for any and all over time. But these are all stopgaps to rewriting the database code for so many different aspects of the game. They need to refocus from development and back on the basic structure of the game to support the additional player load they are bringing to the game with every release. That may mean not giving shareholders a profit for a month or three. But do they have any choice?

    Daily bump. At least the German fellow provided something... Not near enough. Please enable add-on API function and explain why it's disabled and exactly what you are testing with it turned off. Is it making any improvements? Judging by the front page It doesn't look like it.

    Kai schober sounds like a cross between the guy from American horror story and Kaiser soze.
    That aside, kai did what Gina should be doing. Are devs giving more or different info to the German community person? It seems like that would not be something Gina would be expected to write.

    In larger trading guilds, the game isn't supporting my ability to go back the full 10 days (to find record of what I sold at the beginning of this mess). I get about halfway through and the activity log just stops telling me anything useful. I go from seeing [username sold x number of item to buyer for y amount] to seeing [username sold x number]. When it bugs like this, I have to completely quit the game and restart because any new sales that come in retain the very limited format; reloading UI or switching characters doesn't even fix it.

    So I'm confused. Is this issue fixed but throttled.....? Because my MM data is way out, and running /mm missing is in no way fixing my view of past sales.

    It's "fixed" from the standpoint its not obliterating servers, for us plebs that use the data its probably getting 30 to 40%, maybe 60%. I've had too many cases of logging in with 8 messages for something sold.. and 3 are actually picked up.

    you need to ask author of Master Merchant to update addon, it can pickup everything, just need to be updated according to API changes

    Does anyone know precisely what they mean by "old data" and "new data"... ? (or is it "new data request" vs. "old data request"... ? In which case I don't know what this means either, to be honest... )
    I'm curious by nature and also keen to interprete my current MM results correctly.

    My understanding is that "new data" would be anything that has happened since the last time you pinged the server. This would be the most recent guild sales, or things that have happened since you logged in. "Old data" is the sales that happen before you logged in. The "new data" scans are limited to every 30 minutes. "Old data" scans can fire every 30 seconds. Further, these scans are limited to 100 records. There's a little more nuance to it, and it isn't clear what happens when your "new data" exceeds the 100 record limit, but this explains the process in a nutshell.

    Interestingly, I was able to pull down half records from the server today at a rate of 100 records about every 1.5 seconds. This is the "@soandso sold 200 ....". So, while I was able to populate my guild sales history with a bunch of placeholder records, it still took 30 seconds per every 100 records to fill in the rest of the data. I don't understand how this is supposed to positively affect server performance.

    Further, let me say this, from the perspective of a guild leader who has spent anywhere from 20-40 hours PER WEEK to manage her guild, even with the help of add-ons: This issue with our data being hamstrung is un-freaking-acceptable. We have created these tools (add-ons) as a community to fill in holes in the native UI. We use add-ons to make our jobs easier so that we might actually have time to spend PLAYING the game. These issues add several hours weekly onto what is already an incredibly time consuming and thankless job. Personally, I already spend as much time as I'm willing to managing a guild. Having these tools taken away, without so much as a heads up so that we could prepare for the havoc that it caused makes me seriously reconsider if this is how I want to continue using my free time. I can think of many less stressful and equally rewarding activities to fill those 30 hours a week with.

    I'm really getting weary of all the issues, though, and am strongly considering canceling my subs, at the very least, and maybe quitting my guilds to make space for people who can put up with all the ZOS junk, if not leaving the game altogether or at least for a few months. Might be good for me to get away from it anyway, try some new/old games again.

    @Philgo68 - you're awesome. Being able to focus a guild (and time) during a missing is pretty amazing and very much appreciated.

    It still sucks that ZOS has bottlenecked us. Either you run a 24 hr missing every day, or you have to schedule hours to sit on one character and grab all the data. We used to be able to run a 10 day missing for multiple top-tier trade guilds in minutes.

    Guilds already take an exceptional amount of time to run, and now we have to wait for MM to be allowed to grab data... My daily "chores" in ESO used to be running writs across all my characters. At least those were rewarding. Instead, my daily chore now is pulling 24 hours of data. God help me if/when I fall behind.

    There goes the precious free time I had to actually enjoy this game.

    Ok, now my MM is suddenly not updating AT ALL. If this is the new norm and no workaround around it, I am GONE. So sick and tired of this drek I can scream. All ZOS/Beths can see is raking new players in and they're doing zip-all toward keeping old loyal players. Don't they see [snip] that they're holding a sieve?
