Ohhhh boy, what does this mean with regard to ESO logs, never mind TTC/MM?There's a Reddit post discussing the new ToS and about both TTC and MM violating it. Z is probably reviewing that info.
Is ZOS violating their own ToS by including a function in their Services to collect aggregated and/or anonymized statistics of others? Not likely, as *they* didn't accept them. But are they putting anyone who uses that function, which they made available themselves, in violation of the ToS?You agree not to access, receive, play or use any Service to:

Or maybe they did it for testing purposes ?

God i hope not because if this is the "fix" we are still in square 1.

That's not what I meant.
What I mean is... the problems are due to the server load, right ? So if they have any potential fix, they cannot test it internally, they need to test it on the live servers, with addons functionalities turned ON. That's where a "switch" may come useful. Not as a fix, but as a tool for testing potential fixes.

Made sense to me.
I still think this is all very scapegoaty. We've been accessing this data for years. It wasn't until last Monday that things went spectacularly wrong. So I do hope they're looking, at least, at the combination of accessing this data AND whatever they changed in that patch.

My guess is that anitajoneb17 is correct and that you are receiving bursts of data whenever the magic switch is turned on.
Thank you for sharing.
I wish they'd at least temporarily remove the restriction so we could grab the data from the past week - we're nearing the 10 day limit as it is. That data is going to be lost to us soon.
The way I read it, mm will do maybe a request every five minutes or whatever your setting is. It seems like they queue. After thirty minutes, every thirty seconds it deals with 100 more in the old requests that were queued.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Thank you for sharing.

So it's not a "testing thing", but still a workaround - although not a hard as a complete disability.
Okay. It shows they're taking us somewhat seriously and I'm happy and thankful for that.
Does anyone know precisely what they mean by "old data" and "new data"... ? (or is it "new data request" vs. "old data request"... ? In which case I don't know what this means either, to be honest... )
I'm curious by nature and also keen to interprete my current MM results correctly.

Let's be happy that they posted something at all.
@ZOS_ChipHilseberg is dedicated to the addon community and therefore posts on ESOUI. If we jump at his throat for posting here instead of there or vice-versa, he might just as well not post at all anymore.
