Music Boxes - is there any way that they all start at the same time?

As I spend a lot of time in my house and I cant stand the silence I am a huge fan of the music boxes. As my house are is huge, I bought 3 boxes so you could hear it everywhere. There is just one thing which is annoying me. Usually at least one of them is not at the same point of the melody but slightly off.. We have tried it in three to open them at the exact same time and it somehow did work out, however, after coming back to my house from doing some stuff outside, the melodies are again off. Is there any way that the music boxes can start at the same time? At least the same set items.. I know this is a first world problem but it would make me happy to have it sound like one melody and not multiple ones.. thanks

I agree with you. I think music boxes were poorly executed. If they altered the music for the entire house zone, it would have been more in-line with what we were asking for. I think having a localised source for music was the wrong approach.
All my housing builds are available on YouTube

I am happy to share the EHT save files for most of my builds.

My guess would be that the music actually starts when you are "in range", if you use Essential Housing Tools I would suggest:

    1. placing all the music boxes together in one spot (all turned on, ignore the "desync", it should work when you re-enter the house), fairly close to the entrance.
    2. making an animation which places them in desired spots (still on). When you enter - they all start at the same time, then the animation distributes them the way you like it.

You would probably need to make a reverse animation and play it before exiting your house. Worth trying?

@Bix08 On console though you don't have he option to make animations like @bayushi2005 suggested

Sometimes you want to hate PC users even though it isn't their fault. You post a question and get "just use _____ add-on and do ______..." Except we console users can't do that! 😁😞😡

    1. I don't think that anyone was forced into playing on consoles, therefore I don't really understand why there is "hate" in your sentence.
    2. I suggested the solution after taking a look at OP's previous posts where he refers to harvest map add on PTS while being a console player. OP could try the proposed solution and falsify if the reason is indeed in the distance between the character and a particular music box.
    3. Using the knowledge from the experiment on PTS OP could try to determine the distance which allows all 3 music boxes to start playing at the same time (if the basic hypothesis is right) and place the music boxes accordingly.
    4. There is no reason to divide the housing community into "we, console players" and "you, PC players", especially if somebody is trying to help.

To 2) and 3) nope the OP can not. Even if I am from time to time on the pts, addons never worked for me and I honestly didnt bother anymore. And even if they would work I would need to download a lot of updates because I wasnt there anymore since Murkmire.

I think there should be a common solution for all... I can not jump for each thing which is not working on the pts and try it.. neither can this be done by all the other console players who werent crazy enough (like me) to pay the licence for PC too. And even if so, assuming above mentioned would work, it seems like a lot of effort also on PC.. I think it would not be so hard to let all music boxes of the same type also start at the same time.

So thanks @bayushi2005 for the suggestion but I will not jump each time I change the furnishing in my house on the pts to see how it would be possible..

@bayushi2005 I don’t think @LadySinflower was trying to be divisive. There were lots of smileys in her post. I think she was joking that sometimes us console players get a little jealous. ❤️ Not hating. After all us furnishers have to stick together 👍🏻

Then you can test it by "hit and trial":
    1. Place the open music boxes together, close to the entrance.
    2. Exit the house.
    3. Re-enter the house. Repeat few times (Animation would make it farily easy to replicate and you would also be able to check if they don't start getting off when you exit their "range" after they have been distributed). If they start together - I would blame the distance between a character and the boxes for the melody getting off.
    4. If 3 is correct - then figure out the distance by putting them more and more farther away from the entrance, exiting and re-entering the house each time.

Imho, this is more time consuming method.

I will try that once I am back at home next week. The thing is sometimes it works and sometimes its off.. thats why I do not really understand it. But thanks for the tips, I appreciate it!

If it happens that I am on PTS again, I will test it as well (don't have access to more than one music box of the same type on live server).

You're taking my post way too seriously! I don't hate anyone. I was making a joke. I'm sorry if it offended you. No insult was intended. Your solution could be very helpful to someone experiencing this problem. Thank you for your insight.

I am happy about one thing above anything else...
How passionate you all are about this subject.

If you have not voted already, I would humbly ask you to do so if you would like to see features, like those included in Essential Housing Tools, added to the base game for all players... including the ability to start/stop Music Boxes with triggered events.
