I think this is a really good idea. You could make them specific so as not to be an easily-gained exploit: For example, 'Master Thief' could give you a stealth/speed boost during Heists.

This is a pretty terrible idea tbh. Titles are not account wide and some of them are quite challenging/time consuming to get even on one toon. The idea of NPCs reacting to titles is kind of cool however and non-combat buffs wouldn't be gamebreaking but I don't really see a point tbh.

Nah, thanks. But I'd rather see them add more titles like Pyromancer, Cryomancer, Stormsage, High Priest, Summoner, Architect, etc. You know, to show our personality and interests.
Aside from Executioneer and Master Wizard I don't even use them, since they sound not appealing.

That would be... not good, to put it mildly. Power would get concentrated at the high end, or to people who a) are achievement hunters or b) have been here forever. No newer players would have a prayer of catching up. Altoholics would also end up behind the curve.

That would be devestating for PvP, and probably higher end PvE as well. Who would want to queue, knowing they'd be at a huge disadvantage?

I would say no, it seems like a bad idea to take a feature that's historically been cosmetic and attach any kind of specific buff or benefit to it. People who are using the titles as bragging rights or just to enhance their character name will be upset if they feel they need to use another title to get a buff that they'd like to use. And we will all have to look at the same titles over and over again since there will be BIS buffs.

Master Thieve with a bonus to pickpocketing. Silencer with a bonus chance to not get witnessed when using blade of woe. Anything not related to combat, and maybe auras/additional idle poses so we could mix it up with the personalities?

Auras sound interesting though probably taxing on frame rates still interesting.

If every title had a different 1% bonus that'd be fun I guess. Emperor and Flawless Conq. can get a 2% bonus maybe. It's not going to happen but sure I suppose it could be fun?

Actually I have an opposite thought. Titles usually serve as a sign of accomplishment. A character with title is rather good character of a dedicated player. A player who would more likely than not say that the content is easy. So give a debuff with the title. Do you really want to show off how strong your character is? Take a minus 10% to crit or minus 2000 to primary resource per title, something like this.
