Except they didn't have to completely shift the meta to achieve that. There was no reason to nerf Altmer/Dunmer out of the meta.

Some adjustments to builds will be made, you’ll have three race changes to use, and life will go on.

If your servers can't even handle % changes, then we have a really big problem on our hands.

And i don;t think that they are more intensive for the server to process anyway, but honestly this should be the last thing that worries you, the first things, should be, zos servers cannot even handle % modifiers, if that were the case.

Character building is an essential component to an RPG. Even though I don't RP, I enjoy character building and am attached to several of my characters. I don't want to feel compelled to change their race because ZOS decide to change what they are good at. Even if the race change was free, it would still be disappointing to change the race of a character I've played for almost 5 years.

I agree, I'm also attached to my characters, and don't want to race-change them. On the other hand, I love end-game content and I feel pressed to have optimized characters. Even if I create a new character to go in hand with the changes, it just means my old ones will sit on a shelf. This has already happened with my magsorc due to class changes... now my dunmer magNB is next :(

    Games change.

Racial identities are mostly intact, major concerns like the Bosmer stealth angle have been talked about in the ambassador meeting notes.

Get over yourselves. You just want to be unhappy.

And the Bosmer are no longer Bosmer. I don't want to be unhappy. I want to play a game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. That means Bosmer are stealthy f'n archers.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

This is the saddest part. I've been playing my character for 4 years now as a stealthy Bosmer, and now I have to make up for it with sets if I want to be extra stealthy. It makes me sad. Not to mention, how they're peeing on the lore here.

Is it yours? Players have been protesting contentious decisions by admins since text based muds. Raph Koster and others have for years discussed the need of players/avatar rights in virtual worlds.

Changing content players have already paid for is one of the topics commonly discussed. It is very relevant in this case because ZOS stands to profit from retroactively changing player characters for reasons that are not necessitated by gameplay issues.

I've said it somewhere else already.
If ZoS doesn't want Altmer to have damage and sustain automatically at the same time, Altmer should be given increased ressource gain with heavy attacks.

This will be niche, as doing heavy attacks is often not a wise things to do. But if you take the chance, you can have improved sustain at the cost of damage.

A good general rule-of-thumb is to understand a topic before commenting on it. It helps keep your own foot out of your mouth, which would be embarrassing if you informed enough to be aware of it. The topic of discussion here is not that ZOS has fixed racial imbalance. That hasn't happened. What happened is that they made imbalance worse. They had everything fairly close in the initial round of changes, then they nerfed High Elf while buffing the others. High Elf was already very nicely situated, very well in-line with the other races before Monday, but now they're stuck us with a very niche passive that contributes nothing to PvE Magicka DPS, the number one race/role combo in the game.

"PvE Magicka DPS" is High Elf's identity and it should remain in the very top group of contenders for that role. It's fine if we're not #1 (we were #3 before Monday, behind Khajiit and Breton - which was fine because the margins were close), but nerfing us under the floor with a useless passive is an absolute no-go and if it makes it to live it'll be a relationship-ending blunder between this game and a lot of players.

I have good understanding of the topic, thats why I chose the response I chose ;) I would recommend healthy dose of not revolving whole ESO emotional identity around one class or race.

I didn't mind the changes to the race of PTS week 1. They were based on math / objective measures. But these PTS week 3 changes utter BS. High Elves become partially a stamina race now. The God-like Redguards which were supposed to serve as an upper limit are being buff (wtf ZOS, are you high? do you know what an upper limit is?). And Argonians are being buffed again thanks to forum QQ. So do many other races. It's not based on logic but simply on QQ of people wanting to remain OP.

After years I finally though ZOS had introduced "sense" into their decision making process. I took some beating on my Altmer main, but all in all the races were well balanced (with some minor exceptions). But guess ZOS, like a raging teenager, decided that common sense and logic suck and kicked them off the team 2 weeks later ...

They have to make money somehow. Wrecking peoples' characters (up to 15 of them currently), giving away 3 free race changes, and having people fork over 3,500 Crowns per remaining character that now needs a race change to function properly? That's a pretty nice chunk of change. Not everyone will do it, but I'm guessing enough will. Heck, some guildmates race changed last week...TO ALTMER. I think one of them may have suffered a psychotic break when he saw today's PTS patch notes, he was on Discord, mic is open, but there's just weird noise coming in, and an occasional F-bomb.

they are giving 3 race change tokens?I thought it was just one?Although I do admit I did not read the entirety of the patch notes.

This whole thing is a cash grab. They took the top-2 magicka DPS races and nerfed them so they aren't useful anymore, knowing full well that 95% of players use them. Now they're going to be swimming in money from race change tokens and Adventurer Pack sales. They can *** right off with this. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

This ridiculous stam nonsense on Altmer is just unreasonable.

If I didn’t love my guild and the rest of the game so much I’d probably rage quit and ask for refund on Elsweyr.

I’m levelling a Breton since last night.

I’ll never ever change my Altmer.

From my memory of the calculations, it will have no effect on performance. Still 1 addition and 1 multiplication per update, per character.

ESO is different from other MMOs. It is supposed to be entrenched in established lore spanning 20+ years of single player games.

ZOS completely threw that lore out the window with these changes.

    This.
Note that I expected them to remove most of the racials leaving the first passive and some filler like 1K resources.
Leaving the idiots to fight over the fillers, ignoring that they was hit with an Morrowind level nerf.

4.3.1 looked good. Some minor tweaks on Imperials and Bosmer.
4.3.2 Drops idiot ball down the line.

    Buff Khajiit a bit.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Simple logic man: we know what the numbers looked like before 4.3.2, and we know what the changes are, so we can infer certain qualitative facts about the outcome a priori. Why does this bother you? It is an absolutely necessary step in a testing environment. You MUST predict the logical outcomes in order to know if something funky is going on when the experimental results come in.

Honestly I think they are moving in the right direction. DPS wise it appears things are considerably more balanced.

I would really only like it if they made every race better able to perform in all roles. Let Race be more about the small subtle passives like Stealth reduction etc.
