They aren't extending the early access, that is over and done with. Only the grace period to enter the box code
If you started playing Friday, were you upset that others started playing 3-5 days ago? You should just be grateful you have access to the game you paid for (which we now do not)
See I paid extra to make sure I got the game on time. You want them to punish me for that by giving everyone who did not free days. If they give you guys extra time due to no fault of Zenimax ALL of us should get extra time too.
You obviously have no idea how this works and just want to scream some feigned inequality. No one is asking for "free time" or "more time" than you. It's NOT that hard to start the 30 day free time rolling day one for active accounts regardless of when the code is entered. I didn't pay extra because I was assured TWICE by Zenimax that there would be no play interuption for ordering a physical copy from Gamestop. And here we are. They are screwing THOUSANDS of players right now, and all YOU can think about is how you're getting screwed by being able to play? Gimme a break.
You ARE asking for free time tho. Your 30 days wont start until you get your box. So you will get 32 33 34 whatever days and the rest of us do not. How is that ok? I can play because I made sure I could play by paying for the overnight shipping. I guess I should have just not paid for it then I could just get free days until it got here.
We paid for overnight shipping too... your ignoring posts. I do feel they owe us that... read my previous posts.
Well you will get overnight shipping whenever they finally get it out to you. Thats not zenimax's fault they took too many orders.

Since you ignored it the first time.
You have a funny definition of "fair". If you got what you paid for, then you have no claim to compensation. We have been wronged and we demand to be compensated. If you go to a restaurant and some one at a table next to yours finds a finger nail in their soup, they will get it taken off their bill, get a gift card, or get a free desert. How does that entitle you to a free desert??? What kind of logic are you using here?
Why are you here? If you truly are a customer who could be playing the game right now, why are you spending all this time trying to make light of legitimate gripes of paying customers? Smell a corporate plant anyone???
You have not been wronged I mean come on I ignored it the first time because it simply isnt true. Noone has wronged you. so you have to wait a couple days its not the end of the world like you seem to claim. Also none of your business but my wife is using the PC right now. Nice personal attack tho.

Are you just daft? I paid $100 to have the game delivered here Friday. I paid that money to also have access to play the game from the 30th of last month going forward. Right now, I cannot play because Zenimax made an idiotic choice to lock me out before my physical copy could arrive despite them having all the necessary proof already that I have purchased the game.
I have been wronged as has every other person in the same situation as I. If you can't see that, you are a moron. Get lost or get a damned clue!

The CE alone was $100. I paid $120 and I got it on time.

Shouldn't you wait until the is proof that ZOS did fail to produce as many copies as they promised before you start placing the blame?
That multiple retailers have issues delivering their goods on time is hardly an exception to the usual way retailers operate...
I know right? After all the online retail space in particular is a complete failure in the modern economy. This sort of thing is so commonplace, it has been years since any collection of retailers managed to fulfill pre-orders in a timely fashion. There's no reason to expect that Zenimax would have been able to pull off a miracle and somehow cause Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and all of these other failing enterprises to suddenly deliver on their promises to customers. In fact, I bet no one in this thread has had a single on-time order delivered by Amazon in YEARS.
Oh wait... Those retailers make billions and pull off successful pre-order deliveries ALL THE TIME. But you must still be right, Zenimax has to be blameless. And given that they are blameless, leaving their future revenue sources (us customers) frustrated and angry is the best plan. That way... well, honestly I don't know what "that way" accomplishes, other than a PR nightmare.

I was under the impression the code I received when I pre ordered was to let me play while I was waiting for the physical copy. I would have ordered the digital copy if I thought for a second I would not be able to play the game on release day after beta testing it for 6 months and reading on forums about it for over a year before that. I waited a really long time and was extremely active in beta. this was important to me and it seems like I'm just out of luck. I'm pretty sure all any ones asking for in this is some common courtesy.

So you ordered in Feb and expected them to ship it before release?
I thought that they extended the grace period because of downtime during the early access.
If I don’t receive my retail edition on launch day, will I be able to play after Early Access?

Following the Early Access period, players who pre-ordered retail editions of The Elder Scrolls Online will have a 48-hour grace period to enter their retail edition game codes. During this time, they will be able to play ESO as normal. After April 6, any account that has not redeemed a game code will no longer have game access, but the account will be reactivated once a game code is redeemed.

Um its not Zenimaxs fault Amazon is crap
So wait a minute, is it Amazon's fault that Best Buy, GameStop, EBGames and a bunch of other retailers are crap then?
Then maybe don't buy physical copies. The option to have the game instantaneously is at your fingertips
Why are you attacking people for buying a product that ZOS backed as a partner. The only way to get the items offered in the box edition was to order it the way that we did. The distribution problems tend to point directly at the common point, which is ZOS. They also are the only ones that can help us out. I don't care if people who aren't having issues get mad. I feel like ZOS has done me a disservice by ignoring problems that occured on a large scale and I honestly think that those of us who are dealing with this situation, and have been continuously snubbed by their customer service are owed move than even a few more days of grace period. There was a real opportunity for ZOS to come in and be a big hero by accepting that problems happen, and doing right by their customers, but they failed. I was happy at one point with the post by Alan, that our adventurer's pack codes would not expire, but now I feel like that is only a half measure for those of us who shouldn't have ever been locked out of the game for purchasing the game in the only way they offered. It is not even reasonable to say that it is our fault for ordering the physical copies of the game.

Thank you for the reply, but my issue has not been addressed. I knew all of that information beforehand which is why it was in the initial question. What I want to know is if there is if there will be any changes to the grace period or special options to maintain activity during the time after the short grace period and my shipping arrival.
This can't be an isolated problem as there are no shippers that deliver on Sunday April 6th anyway, and Amazon is one of the largest retailers. Please let me know if there is a solution because the current policy is unacceptable.

Hail and Well Met, Adventurer!
I see that you're worried about not having access to the game after the grace period if you haven't already entered your code by then?
After the initial 48-hour grace period that begins on April 4, customers who pre-ordered the physical Imperial Edition must enter their Imperial Pack code in the box in order to retain these items and to fully unlock the full Imperial Pack contents. If you don't have your key by the grace period, as soon as you receive your key, you will gain access to the game and all the perks. If there is an issue when you enter your key, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can investigate the issue and try to help as fast as we can!

I have pre-ordered TES:O Imperial Edition Boxed Copy from Amazon.com with standard shipping. They sent me an e-mail stating that I would likely receive it on April 10-12. I have heard elsewhere that there is a 2 day grace period meaning that if I do not receive it and enter the code by Sunday April 6th, I will lose access to the game. I do not see any alternatives in maintaining my subscription and the current grace period is very restrictive. If there are no solutions to this problem, then please tell me so I can cancel my order.
I should have known better when I asked about this before launch. Their customer support did not have the best reading comprehension skills, nor did they ever address my questions.Response By Email (Julieann) (04/03/2014 07:29 PM)

Guys while I appreciate the frustration I think you are taking it out on the wrong people. A lot of people bought the pre-order from places like Best Buy. This means that they where in the early access and often had not yet actually paid more than $5 for the game. You see those stores allow the game to be held and then the purchase cancelled with no charges. To give the early access a free pass for another week, lets say, means they are in essence allowing some people total free game play without ever having to pay a dime.
The system is flawed for sure but Zenimax has no way of knowing if you actually have the game you claim until the box physically arrives.
The frustration here however should be placed with the people you bought the game directly from. I now for a fact that both of our local Best Buys had physical copies in store 5 days prior to launch. I am willing to bet Amazon and other online retailers did as well.
