Whats the official word on the physical copy debacle?

I am also stuck in limbo because I wanted the physical extras. So, I paid a premium VIP price and instead of VIP backstage all access I get to lurk on my guild's voice chat and listen to them play. I, also, get to fall behind them progress wise and will most likely have to do the dungeons with a bunch of strangers instead of my friends. LAMO. Zenimax, please, reconsider doing business with Gamestop and Amazon in the future. Just because they are giant companies, doesn't ensure that they will be your best option to provide a service for your customers. If anything, it shows how little they care about your business and its success. I dearly hope your liaison with them, at bare minimum, gives their representatives a good yelling at and a threat of discontinued business in the future. This makes you look bad and your game look bad. Loss of trust and definitely a potential for lost subscribers

If ZOS had any foresight, at all, they should have anticipated this. GS policy is to not ship until release (found out the hard way). Surely some suit or peanut counter at ZOS was aware when they negotiated the retail contract. Why didn't they simply stipulate that boxed copies be shipped a week ahead of launch or you can't sell ESO??? Problem solved for 99% of us.

Well thank you Zenimax, it's now been about 24 hrs with zero response from you about our situation (although your Mods are actively answering others problems)

It's obvious now you have no plans to help us out in any way and are instead playing the finger pointing game, claiming it's not your problem. And even if it's not your fault, you could have went out of your way to help but again, nope.

Be assured I will treat you with the same level of concern you have shown us when it comes to staying with your game. And just to show how serious I am.........I have spoken with 3 of my friends who were on the fence about your game and were relying my enthusiasm about the game to let them know it's worth playing.....Well after your treatment of me they quickly became disinterested and went back to Eve and SW:ToR so we BOTH lose. You lost that revenue and I lose 3 people I know to play with. I'm now left to play TESO with strangers which inevitably means my playtime will be much shorter (and you again lose that revenue from me playing longer)

Why should they care, right? So what, we paid the most. We are the minority here. They have millions more people who got digital. To hell with us. We are a cost/benefit analysis. Plain and simple.

In reality, I'm not even sure why the game wasn't logistically shipped out weeks before the game's official release. The typical concern behind it is that they want everyone to gain access to the game at the same time. For single player games, that's shipping it out or making it available at a set time.

MMOs...are dependent on the server. One could have the game 3 months in advance (which realistically is the case for anyone who participated in the beta), and it would not matter since the server would not be active.

    This is a mess.

Maybe they're afraid that if they allow all the people with delayed copies in game, the servers couldn't take the load just yet o:)

I have been making this point. GameStop policy is to ship on release. Absurd that they are so rigid and unyielding they have not bothered to add a clause for online only.

That conspiracy crossed my mind, too...

Possible but the reality is we are a minority. CE buyers could all leave and it would barely make a dent. They have millions more that bought digital. We are a cost/benefit analysis and we simply are not worth their time, so f us.

Also they have thousands and thousands who managed somehow to get their CE box...

Official word on the physical copy debacle, you say?

Zenimax has made it quite clear that they don't give a crap about it's customers. They throw out the usual *** banter to make it look like they care, but they don't. If they cared at all, this issue would be resolved already. We have gone ignored. They don't give two *** about the minority of people that are their biggest fans and paid to prove it. They got their money. If one of us returns our game, they don't care. They got their money. GameStop won't ask for a refund from Zenimax. We just don't matter to them at all. It's a shame. This was going to be a good game. Unfortunately, it will fail because of the serious lack of customer service.

see when i ordered my physical copy of the imperial edition i was told on the phone i would have 30 days of play time "free" included with the game ....so i told the rep on the phone that as long as i rcvd the game within 30 days i would be good since i got 30 days of playing time.Little did i know codes wouldn't be in boxes,30 days included was depended on me entering a cd key that wasn't printed on the paper sealed in a box.so at the end of the day u have a broken statue with a piece of paper with a 2 blank cd keys and 30 days of free play time that cant be played cause u cant enter the code.i could blame game stop or i could blame zeni but i blame myself for calling and ordering a 100 game based on the cool book and "broken"statue.

(Partial) Update: I just got off the phone with a Zeni CS rep (only had to hold 30 minutes this morning, after holding and giving up after 4 hours last night) who sent me an email with a request for my purchase/shipping receipt from Gamestop....after which he will forward my request for a time extension until receiving my box copy to someone with authority to grant those types of things.

Finally, some signs of good CS from Zeni!
This is all part of the game.

No. You must be lying. jamesharv2005ub17_ESO said so.
