Heavy armor should provide huge resistance against bleeds. It should definitely have movement penalties with the weird pvp systems in place now. Too easy to put out big damage while still being extremely tanky. Add in a few earthgore healers and you know the story.... Light armor should get a huge boost to certain types of elemental and magic damage to bring it more in line with being squishy. Medium should get more ranged damage. It's a very abstract and unrealistic system going on now.
A PvE tank will barely notice a 5-10% speed penalty for heavy, and a PvP heavy armor wearer will notice it MUCH more....so in terms of balancing, a 1-2% per piece of heavy worn speed penalty and stealth reduction DOES make logical sense.
No, it would not.Would it make sense to apply a movement penalty...
As all is sprinting trough dungeons anyway yes they will notice.A PvE tank will barely notice a 5-10% speed penalty for heavy, and a PvP heavy armor wearer will notice it MUCH more....so in terms of balancing, a 1-2% per piece of heavy worn speed penalty and stealth reduction DOES make logical sense.

Yes great idea and it makes sense that heavy armour would be... well... heavy

Yeah, that. And for those interested in fun and facts about plate armor, there is more:paulsimonps wrote: »

they need to reduce the damage in heavy not the speed
This would work too. Good suggestion. ....still, the 1-2% speed reduction per piece makes more sense to me.....all this "discussion" about heavy armor not being a hindrance "when it existed in real life" is not factually accurate. ....as if the video's of guys running and chopping wood in modern metal alloys could happen 500 years ago.....plate armor, like gunfighters in the wild west, are more myth than fact. They didn't really exist for all intents and purposes.

Yeah man, all of those historians and archeologist are all wrong, cavedog has already busted these "myths"
Also again, WHAT DAMAGE! Set bonuses is the only inherent damage heavy armor has. Suggest changes to the individual sets, not a armor type change. Wrath is not there anymore, no heavy armor passive gives damage.
