because it's boring. At least when you catch something irl, you have the satisfaction that you are gonna eat it later, in game, it's just a waste of time in my opinion, and it doesn't make a lot of money

It's boring, and I actually have to look for places to fish after every few casts. If it was possible to just fish anywhere where there is water, I would do it more, even if the chance of getting something useful was lowered.

it is so easy meanwhile, you do not even have to guess the water type anymore.

Fishing is dreadfully boring, takes way too long to earn anything and rewards are just so not worth it.

Only exception to this is the Artaeum gold recipe but I nearly died of boredom before I eventually bagged it.

Some players do of course enjoy it but seems like the fishing mechanic is merely a placebo that was implemented just so the game could state it has fishing in it.

There are so many ways fishing could be made more rewarding and actually fun:

Rare fish should be worth much much more - in the time it takes to catch a few I can easily earn 10k+ farming any dungeon or grind spot yet they are only worth a few hundred gold.

More rare recipes and other commodities could be added to drops. Make a few unique. Make a few extremely valuable.

Make it slightly competitive - for example maximum 4, 6 or 8 players per fishing hole.
