Why are there more players on the PC Servers than Console servers?

Buying a PC costs up to 1500$. Consoles cost max 500$.

So it's technically cheaper to play ESO on Consoles. But when you login to Console servers, it's always empty or not full.

I think more PC players should try playing ESO on Consoles.

I was a PC Beta Tester and I enjoy playing on Console, it's a bit different and not as Good as PC. But it is Good enough.

If you have a PC that is capable of running ESO why would you buy a console to play it? You pretty much also pointed out the other point why players won't change from PC to console...

Never owned a console in my life. From some of the videos I've watched, the animation and action seem pretty good on the consoles, but me personally, I love my PC. And yes, it cost quite a bit more than a console, but on the other side of that coin, I do a lot more than just play games and thus it was a more effective investment for me.

My best friend, on the other hand, plays his games almost exclusively on a console, and just uses his computer to browse the web. Different strokes etc.

TL;DR - do the best you can with what you have, and if you're enjoying your experience, you did good!
Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and good with catsup.
You're all just a bunch of pixels. Turn off the power and you cease to exist.

    Thanks m8!

Yeah I do the same as your friend. I have ESO opened on my PS4. And YouTube on my Laptop. Still Comfortable.

I was scared of playing ESO on PS4 first, as I never had played an MMO on Console before. But it was worth it in the end.

I also have never owned a console and I will never give up my PC for a console

I need to own a PC anyway so I spend a little more and can use it to play games.
Besides we would have to fight over the TV if I had a console.

I also remember the red ring of death syndrome that XBox was plagued with and would prefer something I can work on and fix that doesnt become a $400-$500 doorstop regularly

From what I've been told, the PS4 is the single largest platform. Maybe it's an XBox issue, or maybe @runagate has a point. Not sure.

I haven't owned a console since PS2, Xbox, and GameCube. A lot of people by multiple consoles. For those of us who like pc gaming more, you can spend similar money and just upgrade parts every few years instead of a new console or three. You do also get a better machine and gameplay for it.

Could I afford a PC capable of running ESO now? Sure, but a) I couldn't justify it and b) I wouldn't want to start over. Also c) 55" 4k TV.

Well, I do have to disagree with you. I'm 57, and a former IT professional. My aforementioned best friend is 59, and I talked him into getting a computer, oh a decade ago or so. While I will agree a kid could never afford a rig like mine ($5k+) unless his folks make a ton (or he has a million followers on YouTube) like the OP said, you can get a good gaming rig for grand or so. Since lots of folks could likely afford this, and the kids would almost certainly co-opt the box for games, to say only adults would play on a computer is perhaps a tad short sighted, methinks.

I never got that large screen argument. I could play on my 4k TV right now. And my resolution would actually be 4k. I would just be a matter of laying a cable from my PC to my living room. That's really no argument.

Why handicap yourself with a console when you have better controls, better performance on PC?
And whaterver extra you have to spend when buying a PC you save on games as they are cheaper that console games.

Because you can do so many more things with a PC than you can with a console. Most people have a computer connected to the internet anyway, so why add an extra charge for a console on top of that when you can just play on the PC you already have, if you get one good enough to game on.

Because you can use add-ons with a PC.

And I heard somewhere that the graphics are better on PC as well. (I might be wrong about this, though.)

Feel free to argue with me, that's fine.

Counts for a lot of games. Try finding a game for battlefront 2015 on ps4, good luck.

Reason people play on PC is
    - easy customizable / upgradable
    - old games can still be played when upgraded or when new bought (I still play doom from '93 on high end PC. Sometimes a source port is needed)
    - mods for games
    - a lot more people online in online games. Reason is also because old games can still be played so there is always someone. Battlefront 2015 you need to get lucky to find someone online on ps4, while I can easily still find full servers of people playing battlefield 1942 from 16 years ago.
    - mouse and keyboard as I am useless with a controller 😥

    Cons are sadly
    - cheaters online sometimes ruin entire games
    - mods people use for online games to get advantage (ESO for example like combat cloud warning for incoming projectiles)

And no, playing on a cough with a big screen is no advantage because I can de that also with my PC.
