PC sucks trust me. It's not legit gameplay, you can never how other player is playing, because there's so many ways to cheat using macros/cheatengine. while at consoles is more fair game because you cant run any third party programs. PC in large battles fps goes down to 20, while at consoles I bet you get more stead fps? Addons - yeah they're kinda great , but not in my point of view, it takes less skill to play, you just run bunch of addons and reacting to whatever it says.
If I havent started playing eso on PC from beta I would probably have moved to consoles, less cheaters, steady fps and better graphics. The only thing we share in common is unplayabble gameplay that zos gives 0 crap about it (probably broken engine that they cant do nothing about it).
Better graphics on console?, better fps on console? oh dear, your rig must be a potatoe ye?
Buying a PC costs up to 1500$. Consoles cost max 500$.
So it's technically cheaper to play ESO on Consoles. But when you login to Console servers, it's always empty or not full.
I think more PC players should try playing ESO on Consoles.
I was a PC Beta Tester and I enjoy playing on Console, it's a bit different and not as Good as PC. But it is Good enough.

Console players, how the *** do you manage to farm skyshards/lorebooks? GOOGLE??

I pull stuff like that up on my phone, or on my potato laptop that shuddered to 15 FPS at medium settings after One Tamriel’s release wreaked havoc with my PC experience.
It’s really not that hard.

Funny, at 31, I’m one of the youngest people in my primary PVP guild. The GM, who is absolutely lovely and a hell of a healer, is a grandma. There are also several retirees in the guild and plenty of folks pushing retirement age. I also had an amusing zone chat in Summerset just the other day in which MANY of us lamented the fact that the college students of today are too young to remember the frustration of renting videos that weren’t rewound, of blowing dust out of console cartridges, of where they were when 9/11 happened... Don’t forget: the original PlayStation came out in 1995, and lots of us owned that system at launch.
Anyway, OP, PS4 NA is plenty populated... Please don’t ask more people to play on console, as the weekend queues to get into fully pop-locked Vivec are bad enough as it is.

The PS4 console is just pure convenience. Power up, start game, grab controller and go, everything including voice is integrated. The only issue I ever have is waiting for an update to finish downloading.
So many memories of fiddling with configs on PC made even worse because I'm a Linux user and had to play so many games over Wine.
Having said that PC playing matured ages ago and there are not really many issues apart from shonky release day code and with Proton I've suddenly found myself with an extended back catalog which just..... works.
I'd actually not consider trying ESO under Proton just because of the add-on and potential cheatcode stuff.
because we're mostly adults
Well, I do have to disagree with you. I'm 57, and a former IT professional. My aforementioned best friend is 59, and I talked him into getting a computer, oh a decade ago or so. While I will agree a kid could never afford a rig like mine ($5k+) unless his folks make a ton (or he has a million followers on YouTube) like the OP said, you can get a good gaming rig for grand or so. Since lots of folks could likely afford this, and the kids would almost certainly co-opt the box for games, to say only adults would play on a computer is perhaps a tad short sighted, methinks.
