So it's technically cheaper to play ESO on Consoles. But when you login to Console servers, it's always empty or not full.

I think more PC players should try playing ESO on Consoles.

I was a PC Beta Tester and I enjoy playing on Console, it's a bit different and not as Good as PC. But it is Good enough.

    Simple Answer: Addons!

This game interface is crap without addons and consoles don't have them!

PS - Stop trying to make PC people suffer because you're to cheap to buy one.

you pretty much got the answers, but to summarize

the game was PC only for at least a year, so pc players had a headstart, that includes CP grind, crafting research, motifs, recipes, etc.
you can get PC, capable of playing ESO, for a lot less then $1500
    PC has addons.
console has added fee in a form of premium membership JUST to let you play online games. it might be $60 a year, but its still extra $60 a year.
on PC you can either play with keyboard and mouse (which is brilliant for being able to change your keybinds for something you find more suitable for yourself) or controller, you have a choice. on console, its controller only. yes, technically you can get a gadget that makes it possible to use keyboard and mouse on a console, but those things, good ones anyways cost as much as the console itself - doubling the price, and even with good ones, you cannot 100% guarantee that there will be no issues

P.S. I have a PS4 as well as PC. I will NOT start playing ESO on it from scratch for all of the above reasons.

    PC is more expensive?

Yes, but you get what you want.

Also, PC is not just for gaming. You can do a lot more things there.
And the amount of available games is just incomparable between PC and any console.

    no they are not.

console vs PC is 100% personal preference. it just when it comes to ESO and MMO's in general, people tend to prefer PC. for many reasons.

'not as good' is a bit of a statement. Personally i prefer it. PC has too many grey areas for me.

Do you have platform numbers from ZOS or is this a guesstimate? Not having a pop just curious on stats. If you take views of patch notes as a lead, 50k PC, 22k Xbox 13k PS4. HOWEVER as you can tell if you frequent the forum daily the vast majority of folk here are on PC. I'm one of a few i know in Xbox EU that come here, most console players aren't aware it exists (which is an issue in itself as i say later)

Personally i think its simpler, you assume its the experience comparison but i doubt that. I think first of all games been out alot longer on PC and secondly its MORE a PC style of game. Most console players i know shift between games fast and are more into instant gratification games - FPS etc.

This is a vast game, and a new genre to Console in this format. It's that simple i would say.

Additionally you need an online resource to get anywhere with this game. Most console games aren't like that and i bet many copies are sat i used as folks didn't even get out of Davons Watch without thinking WTF am i doing.

While addons are an attraction for many players, not all PC players use them.

As for relative numbers, the only official information given that I can recall were to the effect that the numbers were roughly equal across the three platforms, but that was some time ago.

Just out of curiosity, do you have an addon for Skyshards and Lorebooks on console?

It might be a total pain in the *** to grind them without an addon

And another question for those who migrated to console (I got a ps4), how is animation cancelling and performance in general with that pad and graphically?

I've always considered to move to console and give it a go since my PCs are quite old already but the pad and the lack of addons hold me back.

Sorry, I don't like the idea of spending 100s on a machine that only can be used for gaming AND having to pay a monthly fee to do that. I'll keep my machines that only game part of the time they are on and have plenty of "free" games to choose from. Then there is the fact I can use my PCs as a cluster, server, etc. when they are replaced by better ones. Consoles? Nope, not unless I expend the effort to do so.

Oddly enough, before I built my current PC, my husband and I were exploring getting a current generation console that we both could share. I'd play ME:A and he'd finally get a chance to play Witcher 3.

Neither of us could get the hang of any controller we tried. We used demo machines on both platforms wherever we could find them but we were both hopeless. Right then I knew what it felt like to be my grandma trying to figure out those newfangled ATMs in the 1980s. :D

So lets be clear, PC's are capable of running superior hardware than Consoles.
the problem is , that a top spec graphics card can cost as much as a console.

So the console is the cheapest way of doing things.

the biggest advantage that the console over the PC has is that "it will just work" - and it will continue to "just work" until the day the game is fundamentally changed - whereas the slightest update in any of the Operating System/ Operating System updates, software, drivers (graphics or otherwise) , third party apps or indeed unrelated apps, could basically break your game.

the biggest advantage that the PC has over the console is the ability to modify the game and to interact with using apps (see guild store stuff and combat add ons)

to that end, the PC version is easier to play than the console, possibly a little better looking, but much more prone to falling over.

Therefore whilst PC players are correct in that the overall experience may be better - it could be argued that they are not as skilled as console players whom are handicapped by not having available tools.

    fair summisation i feel.

How often does a driver or OS update ruin a game? Hardly ever. I'm playing games I've enjoyed since the early 2000s on Windows 10. I only have one game that refuses to work properly: Mass Effect 2. Usually, if something happens, an updated driver is posted in a few days, or someone has posted a workaround online in less than 24 hours. In the ancient days before the internet, that might have been a real issue. These days, it isn't.

And skill? What skill? Googling things? Looking for lorebooks without an addon isn't exactly challenging either. It's annoying, but it's not hard.

PC sucks trust me. It's not legit gameplay, you can never how other player is playing, because there's so many ways to cheat using macros/cheatengine. while at consoles is more fair game because you cant run any third party programs. PC in large battles fps goes down to 20, while at consoles I bet you get more stead fps? Addons - yeah they're kinda great , but not in my point of view, it takes less skill to play, you just run bunch of addons and reacting to whatever it says.
If I havent started playing eso on PC from beta I would probably have moved to consoles, less cheaters, steady fps and better graphics. The only thing we share in common is unplayabble gameplay that zos gives 0 crap about it (probably broken engine that they cant do nothing about it).
