No loot from lower level mobs

So i'm level 21 running around in Stonefalls killing mobs and i'm getting absolutely no loot.
What's the deal with this?
Why would you impose such a ridiculous restriction? Making adventuring or trying to farm gear for alts or to sell for some gold or crafting absolutely painful and impossible.
Please enlighten me as to why this decision was made and put in place in game.

I'm not 100% sure but I did notice when I was grinding that mobs stopped dropping loot. I thought it was because they were too many (maybe 2?) levels below my character level. That would definitely suck if that is how it works.

if you are more than 6 levels difference you wont get any loot. Not sure why it is done this way. I made a post about this during PTS ans not much was done about it.
I find that annoying you can get loot, which affects quests, as you out level and become pointless to do.

They probably dont want high levels farming lower level areas and disrupting their play.

EQ2 gives body loot but no chests from grey(trivial) mobs. Same reason.

I can sort of understand trying to dissuade gold farmers or whatever but it's rather off putting that as a player who enjoys farming that i'm unable to do something I enjoy in my spare time.

If you hit level 4 while still in Coldharbour, you will stop getting XP and loot from things you kill, with the exception of the 'boss' in the last room.

I had the idea of staying around there until I got all the equipment I wanted. I figured I would stop getting XP at some point, but did not expect the loot to stop, too.

it's seriously putting me off going back to lower level zones to complete them and even farm for my lowbie alts -_-
I've never seen this much loot 'enforcement' before. I'm sure there's better way to deter gold farming bots and such. Pretty ridiculous.

That's the first place I noticed it too. Pretty weird. Was farming for a little starting gold/gear too. :(

You can still farm the treasure-chests in there for some starting gear.

Does this effect disguises dropping? I was hoping to collect these and don't want to miss the chance at not being able to loot them.

Yikes, that'd stink! I really hope not. Maybe you can still loot them from the bags that tend to be in the area with them?

just to add World Bosses do not drop anything.
I'm level 32, just killed a level 26 world boss (Lizard in Shadwofen) and it dropped nothing in 5 consecutive kills.
    Seriously ZOS, fix this.

Level 14. I did new anchors and new world bosses and a fighter's guild champ in the third area of DC. Daggerfall, I think. No loot, no XP. The annoying thing is that it was the first time I did them. It's like the game is punishing us for being too successful (in leveling.)

There was a level 24 fighting it too.

I'm level 32 and currently not even half way through through Shadowfen. Spent heaps of time in previous zones exploring, completing anchors, world bosses etc and it's making me rethink staying too long in one place to do what I enjoy doing all because we're punished if we move too slow or out level a zone by a few levels... any sense of reward only comes from the low level quest rewards -_-

IF and that's a big IF, they're trying to capture a TES feel, why on earth enforce this loot restriction if in TES games almost everything drops some kind of loot, be it vendor trash or whatever?!

This is an absolutely horrible decision by ZOS! I thought they wanted players to take their time to explore as much as possible, so it stands to reason that doing so would eventually mean players out-levelling areas. I think most players would expect XP gains to slowly diminish until there's no XP from killing low level mobs but to also punish them by stopping loot drops as well is just counter-productive to wanting players to explore!

I'm starting to see more and more negative aspects to this game that is making me reconsider whether I actually want to play! :(

It's almost forcing absolute linear progression and exploration coupled with the lack of loot as opposed to the 'sandbox' or 'play your own way' that ZOS has been pushing in some of their developer videos -_-

Yeah I noticed it the other day, and thought it was completely ridiculous.

I thought I was playing an elder scrolls game, but that kind of ruined it right there. Searching for rare items, exploring dungeons for special items etc.. was something I liked a lot from elder scrolls, but when I found out about the loot restrictions kind of took away the feeling I was playing elder scrolls. Just seems like any other MMO to me now with just some elder scrolls lore thrown in...

with this system in place you are almost forced to move on to higher level zones even if you have not finished the current zones content especially if you are doing the pvp area and pve area.
At least you can still harvest and loot chests to improve your crafting skills. But not being able to loot and break down items really slows things down.

Please please please fix this, it is a huge setback.

Normal open-world elites dont seem to drop better stuff than non-elites. Spent some time earlier farming elite and non-elite mobs in same area, both dropped blues every now and then.

Had those named set-piece stuffs drop from normal "trash" mobs too, tho only green-quality ones so far.
