NB Cloak: 4 Second Cooldown

    Yes
Well in regards to streak and cloak a cool down or cost increase after consecutively using them is an unattractive solution as there is no middle ground. Their effectiveness should be reduced if used back to back, so with streak it would be distance and with cloak it should be 6 seconds and reduced cloak time the more you spam it to a low of 2 seconds. People should be able to spam an ability but not to its full function each time instead of at the cost of sustain or cooldowns, also allows for more aggressiveness in play style. Spamming already has a sustain penalty on its own. That being said, should they also be able to crit and get extra distance an duration or something neat?

    You want streak effectiveness reduced?
You know streak distance was nerfed to the ground + each time you use it gets 50% cost increase making your 6th streak cost like 15k mag? While all capclosers in game cost 2k mag/stam.

How much does your 6th cloak cost?
How much your 6th teleport cost?

While you maintain the right to teleport+cloak and escape i have to streak 6 times dark exchange pot rolldodge LoS and then streak away to escape the gapclosers that cost 2kmag/stam and i have to spend 6k mag to double streak and get out of range, if im lucky.

What else this game will do for nightblades, a new 100% pvp kill skill just by pressing 1 button just to make your life even easier?

Cloak needs some kind of adjustment but a GCD is not the answer. A GCD wont make a difference bcz after a nightblades cloaks they can use other forms of defense, like shuffle or dodge rolling twice and thats 4 seconds.

It doesn't need an adjustment when it has soooo many counters. It gets broken by anything and everything. If you turn on Combat Numbers (built into the game settings, mind you) you can even follow the "Miss" text to figure out where they are. Slot AoE, use Magelight, Expert Hunter, Detect Pots, Reaper's Mark, Hurricane, Tornado, Jabs, Soul Assault, Jesus Beam, Sub Assault, Permafrost, Talons, Fossilize, Mines, Blockade, Eye of the Storm

Cloak negates none of those, and many of them break Cloak instantly. Use them

First, let me say I disagree with the OP suggestion.

However, you must know how futile most of the suggestions you just listed are?

As a Templar, currently, I could literally Use Magelight, a detect pot, drop Eye of Storm (or Elemental Storm), Blockade and proceed to spam Jabs all around me and the NB, will simply laugh his ass off because he is 15m to the left, right, behind or any incremental combination of those directions around me.

The truth is the only time stealth really fails is if you have a larger number of people spread out with all of them actively searching for the NB. The single player has no real chance of detecting any NB worth his salt.

And even with a large group of people searching, the right kind of terrain can still make it (nearly) impossible to track the NB. Just ask The Gobbler who has been hanging out in AD Castles annoying people for the past several weeks, lol.

No. But there should be something for the alternating it between attack weaves. Maybe make a choice. If it’s a defensive ability, maybe for 4 seconds after use, damage done is halved. Opposite of its crit buff now.

We had a damge reduction morph used in PvP which was killed to replace it with the self heal (which really belonged in the healing tree - siphoning)

It's about time Cloak gets the Streak treatment.

At least streak only serves as a gap opener, not also as a powerful mitigation tool like Cloak does.

Streak does lightning damage and stuns as well. You conveniently left that part out.
Streak also reliably procs crystal frags.

Those who call for changes to Cloak aren't even willing to come up with serious ideas that make sense for both sides.

4 seconds of not being able to cast it again? The skill only lasts 2.5 seconds.

    Think of it this way.

8 seconds of not being able to cast Hardened Ward again after casting. So for 2 seconds you get no shield...what happens if the shield gets depleted though?

Even someone like me who despises Sorcs wouldn't suggest such an evil and idiotic idea like that.

Umm I must disagree. I kill NBs easier than any class, because most of them relay to heavily on cloak. You can't fight nightblade starting with detection pot, mage light and everything you've got vs cloak because NB will simply prepare to counter your counter. What you want to do is to bring NB down to 30-40% hp without showing you have any counters, and when he's close to execute range then throw it all, he won't be prepared to get out of execute range and find a way to deal with no cloak because it worked till now and suddenly it's not. Trust me, this tactic works wonders vs most NBs, only the best NBs know how to defend them selves without single cloak use.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

I think the problem is that a magblade with max magicka can spam cloak for a long time AND do tons of damage from max magicka.

What if cloak costs stamina to cast AND drains magicka while moving.

That way neither magblade or stamblade can use it indefinitely and it will actually require different use between magblade and stamblade to conserve each playstyle's primary resource.

The really dangerous magblades run shade over cloak. I was in Cyrodiil this weekend and these two magblades were holding my and a handful of blues around this farm. They just kept shading to escape and it was honestly impressive. I knew I was outplayed and decided to cut my losses and bail before I ended up dead lol.

Back on topic I think cloak is fine. If a night blade cloaks it means correct pressure is being applied.

I do think a good addition would be detection poisons or a detection enchant. Sacrifice extra damage to counter one specific class skill.
    PvP needs more love.

Well I have a Magicka Nightblade with max magicka and i CANNOT do that, so i don't understand who can. Cloak cost was increased, then with changes to sustain, it becomes more expensive. You have to decide, do I cloak or do I damage, you can't do both and survive, you'll run out of magicka quickly.

Although I do not play a nightblade based on my experience fighting against/alongside them I feel that a cooldown on cloak of any sort would completely ruin the playstyle of those who make use of it. Anyone including myself can go invisible with an invisibility potion, but one of the things that makes a nightblade special is the ability to become invisible without a potion or a cooldown.

Of course, I do get annoyed when a nightblade engages me and spams cloak to get away, but if they are not adept at evasive action my Grothdarr, immovable detection potion, or blockade of storms is usually enough to counter them especially if I keep refreshing boundless storm for major expedition. Any type of cooldown especially a 4 second one would just be too much.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).
