Thanks. I couldn't quite express how distasteful the interactions are. You did if for me. Kudos to you.
I do PvP quests as well and haven't missed a day of PvPing for a long time. I'll go with my experience. The people I PvP with aren't interested in trolling people doing the quests. They're more worried about getting AP and wining the campaign. And I feel the majority of regular PvPers are this way as well. Never once have I joined a group and their goal was to kill questers.
I can only conclude that when PvEers do get ganked doing quests, those situations are few and far between. Unless you're questing in an area that's hot with fighting.
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/227993/how-are-we-supposed-to-do-the-quest-achievements-in-cyrodil
If you get killed, just respawn and go at it again, you will get the quest completed, not a big deal whatsoever.
Quest ganking goes on in spurts, sometimes it's really bad for several weeks, and sometimes it's sparse. When you are trying to do the quests in Cyrodiil and have to deal with quest gankers, respawning and going at it again changes nothing. Quest ganking can be pretty ferocious. Gankers will hide and wait for an unsuspecting pve'er to start talking to an npc quest giver ... as soon as that happens you get ganked. So, after 3 or 4 attempts of (unsuccessfully) trying to get (or turn-in) your quest, you give up for the day and try the next day, but same thing happens, and it happens the day after that, and the week after that. Maybe, if you wait 6 weeks or so you might be able to get (or turn-in) your pve quests without getting ganked during a 'ganking lull' ... but those 'lulls' are only temporary.
Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen or that it's not a very real problem and it IS a big deal, it's a very big deal.

Bit rough where the salt fishing spot is though. Zos could and should do something about that.

Lol, no.
A mob doesn't teabag your body. A mob doesn't taunt you with emotes. A mob doesn't send you hate tells. When a mob is done with you they just go back to their idle position. When a person does it, they make it personal.

But again you are taking the game too seriously. There really is no difference between a player killing you and a monster/enemy npc killing you. You still get camped, you still loose progress. It really doesn't matter.
the three faction war is part of the pve experience, going to the front lines of it would make sense for it to be much harder, and more then likely will die.

Lake Rumare is rather sad in ESO. Its all foul water thanks to Molag Bal and you'll have your toes ripped off by slaughterfish if you try to swim in it.
But the most disappointing location for me was Hackdirt. That amazing quest in Oblivion? Yeah, in ESO you just have to clean out some bandits. BORING!
Even the Imperial City is all wrecked and ruined by the Daedra and only vaguely like the city I spent hours running around in.
The best Oblivion nostalgia, IMO, is the Dark Brotherhood DLC. I loved returning to Anvil (even though they turned my beloved Benirus Manor into a bank. A bank!) But walking up the hill to Kvatch took my breath away.

Considering each faction has its own quest line where you help the leader in the war effort, or did you not do those quests?
ebonheart pack players doing the bleekrock quests get straight up attacked but 1 of the factions, and have to evac the island.
While AD works with the queen not only to prove her legitimacy but save her from an assassination plot by a usurper who wants to set up a high elf only AD, and go to war for high elf supremacy. All the while dealing with maormar who were hired but one of the factions.
Again you come off very rude for little to no reason, please stop being hostile when I'm just explaining my pov.

Okay, technically there is an alliance war outside of PVP.
Its just that One Tamriel erased most of it.
Pre-One Tamriel, alliance mattered because it dictated who you could and couldn't group with. This was an extremely welcome change.
Moreover, it also railroaded you through Cadwell's Silver and Gold, which made it clear that the only reason you got to do the other alliance quests was due to Meridia making you appear to be a member of that other alliance. And even that wasnt originally part of the game. This was a really good change, but it also made it a lot easier to miss parts of the lore that explain things like "Hi, I'm a Praetorian in the Army of the Ebonheart Pact, I'm here to help Queen Ayrenn claim her throne. What?"
Now, yeah, unless you really pay attention to Meridia's gift, alliance doesn't matter in PVE, at least to your player character. It matters a lot to the NPCs, especially the Pact's quest line. But they won't care whether you are EP or AD or DC.
Overall, I think One Tamriel was a good chance, but I sort of regret how some of the lore that helped make the whole game make sense got lost in the process.

Good luck with figuring out the lag! That must be super frustrating.
Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood weren't amazing, quest-wise, if you didn't like them in Skyrim. But Hews Bane and the Gold Coast are beautiful zones to explore and play around in. And if you like the justice system at all, those two DLC together are amazing.

I want this, but the PvP hardcore fanatics would whine because Cyrodiil is “PvP only” or couldn’t attack anyone because we upset the PvP masterrace lmao
Wasn’t there an option that got removed in IC to let you choose between PvP and PvE but it got removed?

Ditto RIFT though I never did pvp there at all.
So nope, ain't hap'nin. Just - yuck. Oh. And as for ZOS? They can suck rocks too because I don't CARE about what they envision - I only care about paying them to play the game MY WAY. Selfish? Yeah. *shrug*
you take things to seriously. being killed by a player is no different then getting killed by a mob.
That's your opinion. I'm entitled to mine. I guess if you can't see the difference....
Yes you are entitled to have an opinion, just as much as i can comment on your opinion, and say you take something too seriously. Your post comes off as rude.
"I don't believe in killing other players' characters, and it shouldn't be classed as "fun"." Is a very rude reply to have.
Believe that if you want. I don't DO war period in games. We have WAY too much war IRL - I'm not messing with it in a game I play to GET AWAY from RL.
Now, explain to me how there's any faction war OUTSIDE of pvp? There isn't. Sure there are places you can run into op-fac troops - but you don't have to go there.... and I don't. I have toons in each faction, and I'm not interested in pretending they're mutually at war. The "three faction war" is NOT part of my pve experience. YMMV of course, and you're welcome to it.
Of course I don't do those quests. Why would I? Apparently your version of rude is anything contrary to your own opinion. I'm done with this.

Yeah yeah - I'm only one player. Works for me.
I actually played on a pvp server in WoW, in a friend's guild - mostly to join the guild raids. The raids weren't fun either - and getting ganked out in the world sucked boulders through straws. By the time I could holler for help from whatever guildies were online, I was dead. My lag sucks, so dead is dead usually in a couple of seconds. Not to mention, of course, that if you're an "ambassador" for pvp, you're not doing a particularly good job. At least, not with me. All you're doing is reinforcing the belief I've already got that pvp folks are annoying and elitist. Oh, and how is saying I find killing other players' characters isn't fun "rude"? Jeezus - it's an opinion. It's my opinion. I didn't find it fun, and I won't ever do it again.
Overall, I think One Tamriel was a good chance, but I sort of regret how some of the lore that helped make the whole game make sense got lost in the process.

smdh… cant believe this hasn't happened yet.
Hell, add content, call it a chapter, include IC and I'd pay for it.
