Can we please get rid of or increase the Transmute Crystals Cap from 200?

    I am all for an increase in all storage caps.

    As far as Rewards of the Worthy go, what is the max in-game mails allowed? Just leave them in the mail.

    I support removing the cap. It does nothing but create an inconvenience.

    I also support removing the cool down on rewards for the worthy.

    I also support a buff for geodes gained through pledges.

    The problem is that ZoS will likely read this thread and fix the problem by giving crystals directly instead of geodes that you can store in your inventory, and remove the chance of getting a trait stone from deconning.

    I know that this is an old thread but the annoyance with the Transmute Crystals Cap has not been addressed and this thread got a lot of agreement from others so I wanted to bump this topic from the prior PTS back to the top to hopefully get another look.

    Right now I have 25 slots just on my main character holding Transmutation Geodes I can't open because of being at the 200 cap and not needing to Transmute anything at this exact moment. Please give us a larger cap or remove the cap altogether for ESO+ Subscribers.

    I don't know that they can make them stack because each one has a different amount of Crystals in them.

    It's self regulating the way it is. You get to choose between whether the stones or the space is worth more to you.

    It's enough to transmute 4 items, and not like stones are hard to come by. So use them, store them, delete them, or whatever you need to do.

    If you're capped, it means you don't have anything you want to transmute right now, so I fail to see the issue.

    (100 sucks a bit, but that's intended to be incentive to have ESO+)

    Ahh ... another fallacy that's lazily put out in the forums for consumption.

    Here's how much inventory space players actually have without the crafting bag:

    - 15 characters with in-game gold or crown purchased bag upgrades (up to 140 each character) = 2,100 slots
    - Mount bag space upgrades (15 mounts x 60) = 900 slots
    - Personal bank space (with upgrades & ESO+) = 480 slots
    - Home storage bins = 360 slots

    Total: 3,840
    It's 8 characters. Besides, using multiple characters as substitute for limited inventory space is the dumbest counter-argument. Whenever someone says "inventory's fine, use mules", they're proving the inventory is not fine.

    You're also skipping over the amount of time and gold required to reach the "inventory endgame".

    When a player enters the game, with their singular character, they don't have 180k gold for full backpack upgrades and 770k gold for bank upgrades. They can get the first few upgrades reasonably cheap, so let's say +40 backpack +40 bank for ~40k gold total. Mount upgrade gets them 1 slot per day. Home storage is 30-slot coffer obtained through levelling, the rest is afaik from master writs and those are not even doable by a novice player. So we're at about 260 slots after a month.

    Getting more inventory slots takes considerable investment (time and/or gold). And here's the thing -- the game throws hundreds of different non-equipment items at you before you reach level 50. Sure, when you're a veteran playing inventory endgame, you know what to keep and what to throw away, you don't need to stash equipment for trait research and also have more space to work with. But it's so glaringly obvious that the system is designed to make players regret not paying for ESO+ and all kinds of upgrades in crowns.

    If the things I want would drop (aka *** RNG), I'd be happy to transmute things. I feel like the game designers of ESO give us stuff just so we can use it to its minimum.

    IF they didn't want us to stockpile they wouldn't allow us to hold onto geodes. As it stands I have over 75 geodes of the 50 stone kind taking up inventory space. Originally they said they didn't want transmutation to be the primary route for people gaining the right traited gear. The only thing the current stone cap is doing is limiting my inventory space, which probably wasn't their intent.

    and/or can we fix the *** cooldown system so we get more than 1-4 crystals every geode (unless its been like 10 years since we opened the last one)

    I guess if you're sitting on transmute crystals that you never plan on using it makes sense, but for me, I'd rather bank the geodes and have the transmute crystals when I need them.

    The time it takes to earn transmute stones is irrelevant if you don’t plan on using them.

    I have yet to see a solid argument in this thread on why the cap should be raised or lifted.

    I only see two forms of whining:

    a. “I don’t have enough inventory slots to bank geodes after the cap.”

    b. “I don’t know when I’m going to use transmute stones on a gear set ... but I refuse to use or discard extra stones over the amount needed for said gear set.”

    Whining huh? I layed out a perfectly valid reason why the cap should go away. Jewelry Crafting. The only way to get overland gear in the new trait is to transmute. What possible reason could it be necessary to make this needlessly tedius to junp around between characters or take up inventory. Jewelry crafting makes Transmute Stone 100% necessary as a crafting material. Every 100% mandatory crafting material outside of transmute stones has no cap on it.

    All your counter arguments are nonsense because all you are doing is trolling. A change to the cap has zero negatove effects on you or anyone else.

    Tale has always been a troll in the forums.

    Anyways, regarding the topic on hand, yes, I completely agree that ZOS's decision to have a cap on transmute stones was erroneous and only was made more tedious with the introduction of jewelry crafting.

    The cap should either be significantly raised, or flat out removed altogether.

    Setting the cap at 200 doesn't mean we're deleting and not keeping all the other Transmute Crystals we constantly get when we've already got 200. It just means they are taking up our precious inventory space for no good reason. I have 10+ slots on each Character holding uncracked Transmute Geodes. Can we get rid of this artificial cap at 200 altogether or at least increase it to 500?

    I agree. I have a friend who has multiple character's inventory full of unopened Transmute Geodes, to the extent the person can't do much else with their characters i.e. quest, dungeon delve, etc. without always requesting a vendor to sell junk items after each encounter. Removing the 200 cap would go along way here.

    Just checked. Sitting on 300+ geodes. The system is not "encouraging me to run different content" - just creates unnecessary inventory management headaches :-(

    Or just make crystals tradable. If not to players, at least for something useful, maybe things like hakeijos, or maybe make it a currency for those who mostly PVP (since that seems to be where most of their supply comes from) and have no interest in things like trials, arenas, etc. to buy imperfect versions of those weapons for some ridiculous amounts (1000+ crystals).

    If you would trade them in for Hakeijos, you might as well turn them into nirncrux already.

    Yeah it sucks to waste 50 on an item/weapon just so you can still accumulate them. I agree an increase would help because 200 is low IMO.I cant imagine how the non-ESO+ folks feel.

    Exactly. Its an artificial cap that we don't need for balance because no one is deleting their excess Crystals, we're just sitting on them in our inventory until we need them and it makes it more difficult to move items between characters since the Geodes cannot be Banked.

    I don't understand why they aren't bankable. We already stockpile them by keeping them in geode form. Just make them a bankable currency and be done with it.

    if Zenimax isn't willing to remove the cap, which I think is utterly pointless, then at least allow the geodes to stack in my inventory. Making them bankable would be nice too. The best by far would be for transmute crystals to be an unlimited currency. Because no matter what Zenimax does, I'm not going to be discarding my geodes just because I've reached the artificial currency cap. Thus I have inventory management issues, occasionally feel pressured to transmute something and I'm often disincentivied from doing certain content that would give me more crystals/geodes. I'm sure that was not their intent with the cap!

    I don't think they can be made stackable because every Geode comes with a varying amount of Crystals. They just need to majorly increase the cap or remove it.

    I think geodes can't stack because they are containers. As far as I can tell, containers don't stack in this game, probably because their function is to hold other items in them.

    I don't mind having a cap on the live server, but since it's the PTS forum, PLEASE REMOVE THE CAP ON PTS.

    I need to grab crystals from that infinite geode like 10 times per character to test different sets in different traits :'(

    Remove the geodes and pay the crystals directly. Make them character bound and not bankable. Reduce cap to 50/100 (double for eso plus). Remove chance to get trait stone from deconned transmuted gear. Nerf sorc.
