What do you do when the DPS sucks in group dungeons?

    Depends.
If I'm playing my healer or tank toon I just leave, cuz I can easily find new group.
If I'm playing my DD toon and I'm the one who is sucking (all my DD's are near 20k dps. I'm lazy to learn rotations), I stay in dungeon until I'll be kicked.

    well lets turn this around:

I just was in a group in a dungeon, where healer was pulling 10k dps as well as healing, the downside to this was the other two dps'er didn't get any buffs from the healer at all, no combat prayer, no power of light, no aggressive warhorn, no shards.

Which meant the dps'er lose both 10k dps each or even more due to that, so now I ask did dps suck here?

I dont think so at all.

I have seen tanks only taunt with inner fire, so no major fracture on bosses, thats like 10-15% dps lose.

DPS should be self-sufficient in dungeons.

I just tell them to revive me at FG II/ Cradle
Mazzatun/CoA - never encountered bad DPS "yet"
    ICP - I :D
Darkshade II - never had a DPS problem

Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much and I expect failure sometimes (and enjoy it more than success). At least when I'm the tank

If is a non-dlc vet dungeon I teach them the best I can, usually we get over it usually takes sometime though but deep in my heart I know we can do it. If situation is really bad I just switch from tank to dps and do both jobs.

If is a dlc vet dungeon and the dps takes too long on the first trash pull then I leave the group because that is not going nowhere. I'll spend 4 hours teaching any guild mate but not pugs.

I refuse to kick anyone from the group unless that person is being a *** or afk for more than 10 mins.

Find that no communication and an unavailability to manage mechanics is more of an problem than low dps.
Also lots tend to leave after a few wipes.

Some exceptions: Blackheart haven, dps was a bit low but we managed , wiped a few time on the 3rd last boss, then the last boss, dps was too low to take down the adds as they spawned and tank did not have chains.
Both DD left and I and tank did HM with new DD, this was our first clear so the did it again so they could get two keys :)

Weirdest Normal BC2, dps was very low but it was an random normal and no issues.
Up until Keeper Imril, I was on warden healer and pretty low level but was the only one doing AoE.
No it did not work more and more adds spawned.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I am probably the most casual, optimistic and patient player in this entire game - and kinda enjoy taking any opportunity to teach someone a few new tricks

I'm in no hurry to just up and leave a group because someone isn't the best at their role. I will mainly only leave if people are being massive rearends, and/or being toxic in chat. I can deal with newbies (hell we all were once), noobs and sub-par players as long as they are nice.

In some cases, you may even find yourself with a new friend once it's over

I've been in this situation a lot of times. Despite I am a "puny" magsorc, my Combat Metrics consistently shows I do 80% of the group damage.

Usually it's not a problem, because my DPS is enough to kill everything in solo.

But, if I had to choose and (as per the original post) tank and healer are awesome, then I'd give a couple of attempts and suggestions to the other guy. If he still fails, I'd vote-kick him. Kick because if he cannot do a vet 4 men, even after being told how to do it, it means he should go back to normals and improve.

Nowadays, I only run pledges to get keys and transmute crystals, so it depends on the dungeon. If it's an easy one, I normally queue as fake heals since unless the tank is incompetent and people don't know the mechanics (e.g. one shot in Spindleclutch 1) my own DPS should be enough to complete them fairly quickly. As for the more difficult ones, I generally avoid running them with people I don't know or do them with the group I just breezed through a dungeon with if they're interested. One time, at about 4 am UK time, I ended up in a group that would have done a 3 DD no death run of ICP hm had one guy's food not dropped off as he was falling down after entering a portal =D

However, if sometimes I'm mad enough to queue for a difficult dungeon via GF, I generally ask in group chat after going in if people think they can do it. I don't care if they don't know HM mechanics, since I can explain those and I don't mind spending some time waiting for them to get used to them. However, if I see as we're going through the dungeon that we might be short on DPS since the other DD is just not good enough, I politely tell them that I don't think our group DPS is sufficient for HM, point out how much I'm chipping in and remind them I came in specifically to do HM. What happens later depends on the other DD. I bumped into a few people who asked me for some on the fly advice (e.g. tweak their rotation to squeeze out a bit more DPS, check if it's a gear problem, etc.). If there's something we could try, I don't mind giving it a shot. If it turns out we have no options (e.g. the person is running a full on pvp spec, doesn't know how to weave, their skills don't make sense as a rotation and they're the only ones they have unlocked), I tell them as things stand they will drag any group down as far as this particular content is concerned, hoping they will offer to leave themselves. However, on most occasions the other DD seems to be convinced their performance is not an issue, which I would assume is only possible if they aren't running combat metrics, in which case I wish everyone good luck and leave myself.

even if the dd's are doing 10k - 15k dps, that can be off set by the healer and tank, any tank should be able to pull in 5-10k dps without much issue that is even on a trial boss, the healer should also be able to do the same and even with 2 healing staffs, i can do that easyly on my tank and get more on my healer

It depends on the reason for why the dps is low, eg if the dps is running 1h and sheild it’s a bit of a hint that they running pvp setup, in these cases it’s a kick without hesitation, or healer running transmutation in dungeon, it’s simply a case of not understanding what is required from them, so it’s time to vote kick. If it’s a clear simply not understanding a mechanic or they are lower cp then giving advice and helping is not an issue. But turning up in pvp gear and setup? No thanks vote “kick”

I would leave if i‘m doing that bad (I‘m a dps) earlier i was trying to use group finder for vet blackheart haven so i could farm jewelry/gs..didn’t work out, i found 1 group in 2 hours..

A little off topic but after that i did blessed crucible to get troll king and had to tank cuz some dps clicked tank even though he was a magic dps..my stamblade has no tank builds and i was quite annoyed with all the rolling i had to do..

So while i play nice i also get screwed sometimes even though i have long waits

Always go for the lowest CP first because we don't have DPS meters to determine who's the weaker DPS. If there's a tie then wherever who the least BiS build gets kicked. On a side note, any DPS that uses Bone Shield should be kicked on sight. As well as those with names that contain YOLO, Swag, or anything drug related.

Years ago I started playing this game when it first came out, and only solo quested. Recently came back with morrowind and started a new character a month or so ago, since I was totally lost with my old character.

I am now a magicka nightblade, around 400cp but as a new character. Right now I am improving, but I still hardly have a clue what I'm doing. So far I've only ran normal dungeons as that is where to learn I suppose. I got my dps up quite a bit already, but right now I'm lost on how to sustain my magicka. I run out of magicka after every two groups or on tougher monsters like bosses. When I have magicka though, my dps seems to be quite good.
I've found most players really patient, and try to help. Haven't been kicked once, which surprises me hehe.

Also, when I notice players aren't really doing well, I just keep trying and not kick. What's a few gold in repairs anyways.

I do agree that you should not be doing veteran dungeons or other high content when still learning the game. That is when I would consider kicking if giving advice does not work.

PS: Would appreciate tips on magicka sustain and best skills to use(haven't looked into rotations yet). Right now I have 28k magicka, 2k magicka regen in combat, and a little over 1550 spell power. But honestly have no clue if that is any good.

    It really depends.
If it's not too hard vet or a normal I just go on most of the time, especially if I'm DD or healer since I can make up for them. If I'm a tank it depends how much time I have till I have to relog.
I try not to leave especially if other players are low level and I'm on normal - I have low level alts and I know there is just nothing they can do right now to have higher dps.

Most of the time the problems is not low damage, it'sdps who simply have no clue about the mechanics and I get that because if nobody told you you won't know that you need them at all. I'm not all-rounded master, I'm more of a middle ground, not too weak, not too great - I personally don't queue for vet dlc dungeons and happened across them only couple of times when I was queuing on random and generally told people upfront that I came from random but I can give it a try since I know the mechanics - but where I can give some advice I will try.
Same goes for common courtsy of DD that many people who just casually started playing also don't know - like stay in the heals, ressurect people, press stuff if fight requires or something like this. I don't kick people unless they get really defensive, instult others or try to blame the healer or tank for their problems (especially first case since some dps just happily stand in red circles and are suprised that they die).

Sometimes there is no hope though. I mean those guys who I can clearly see idly standing next to a boss while my humble healer ass and my tank friend are doing almost all the damage combined.

To give you a rough idea my magicka Nb sits at 40k+ max magicka and well over 3k spell damage. What sets are you wearing etc? What server do you play on? It sounds like you might need to get a little guidance on your build.
