Its funny because of the expendability of DPS since there are tons of DPS players. If this was a tank or healer I think one would try harder to 'teach' them the mechanics before kicking them out. IMO

Same man, i play tank, I don’t kick healer right away either. Incase of garb dd i will just stop taunting and start arguing with capable ppl that x player is deadweight.

Years ago I started playing this game when it first came out, and only solo quested. Recently came back with morrowind and started a new character a month or so ago, since I was totally lost with my old character.

I am now a magicka nightblade, around 400cp but as a new character. Right now I am improving, but I still hardly have a clue what I'm doing. So far I've only ran normal dungeons as that is where to learn I suppose. I got my dps up quite a bit already, but right now I'm lost on how to sustain my magicka. I run out of magicka after every two groups or on tougher monsters like bosses. When I have magicka though, my dps seems to be quite good.
I've found most players really patient, and try to help. Haven't been kicked once, which surprises me hehe.

Also, when I notice players aren't really doing well, I just keep trying and not kick. What's a few gold in repairs anyways.

I do agree that you should not be doing veteran dungeons or other high content when still learning the game. That is when I would consider kicking if giving advice does not work.

PS: Would appreciate tips on magicka sustain and best skills to use(haven't looked into rotations yet). Right now I have 28k magicka, 2k magicka regen in combat, and a little over 1550 spell power. But honestly have no clue if that is any good.

To give you a rough idea my magicka Nb sits at 40k+ max magicka and well over 3k spell damage. What sets are you wearing etc? What server do you play on? It sounds like you might need to get a little guidance on your build.

Apparently not just a little hehe. Currently I am wearing full war maiden set, and two other sets with on the 3rd equip a spell damage bonus. I'm EU server. Already looked up some things, like most recommended set being Julianos. Will check if my old char can craft it once the servers come online. I did not put all my stat points in magicka though, as when I did that I died way too much(16k hp now).
    Thanks!

    You try to teach/help them.

if they are receptive you stay hours because that kind of achievement feels great!

if they are not receptive i type, "i'll give yall 3 wipes and i gotta run. sorry :-("

Yh Julianos is a solid start, war maiden is a bit magic damage specific. Willpower julianos and torugs could be good until you sort your monster sets out. Run max magic and max health food, or witch mothers potent brew to help your sustain, and I would recommend spell damage glyphs on all your jewellry, and run double Destro, preferably flame staves. Skills passives should also help guide your build

Will check out the other two sets as well. I am a dual wielding swords char though. Have never used food or drinks, but will check it out. Just like the willpower glyphs. Right now I use magicka regen on my jewellery. Thanks for the help! Edit: I use magic damage with lots of crit.

Usually that dps is me. So I politely see myself out before I get kicked

Lol just like my main. I have healer and tank and i am better at these roles but i suck at doing dps. Sound strange right? But it is true and my main will never see trials or veteran dungeons i guess lol.

    Leave the group yourself
Leave. I just don't have time to try and see a failing group through content that is clearly above their weight class. To those of you who stay and make it a learning moment, good for you - you have more patience (and maybe even free time) than I do.

I used to be that DPS person. Now instead I’m a very good tank. So I have a lot of sympathy for those people. I was just in one group with a DPS with CP 450 and they couldn’t do anything. I stayed and tanked for them until they gave up and quit, and then waited for a substitute who could do damage.

From reading the thread, and since the suggested sets and spell power glyphs on jewellery I have already improved quite alot. Crafted myself 5 pieces of julianos, two pieces of torug's. Which has upped my spell power to over 2400, up to 2650 when sneaking/invisible. I did craft it all with vigorating, due to magicka regen hehe.

Thanks for all the help guys!
