Nameplates are VITAL for the gameplay, add them back.

As said above, the nameplates are VITAL for the game, I don't understand why would you ignore such a majority of the player base?

I don't accept the excuse of immersion, its just stupid, I believe that MANY MORE will simply quit eventually without such feature.

Its like ZeniMax on purpose want the game to fall down, the game has HUGE potential, it is obviouslly 10 times better than WoW but those small things which prevent you from having social life in the game are going to be its downfall.

It is NOT fun to play alone.

We feel like running around empty shells, I can't even recall who is next to me, I haven't made a single friend around as I can't communicate with ANYONE AROUND ME and therefore I haven't made a single new friend so far who I didn't knew before the game launched.

More further, the idea of that I have to run after someone just to ask for help in order to whisper them, people IGNORE /say/yell, check statistics and I believe 98% of the players don't even use them as their 100% useless if you don't know who around of all the empty shells said them.

For example:
I had a problem with some Quest, I wanted to ask for help and I found my self running after at least 6 people in order to be close enough to them to even ask them to help me out but I failed and had to wait for another guy to do the quest as well in order to achieve it and even then without saying a single word to each other, not just it DOES NOT reflect any real life element, its make the game look lonely and robotic.

Do not ignore us and add the feature back as soon as possible, every day cause damage to the majority of the players.

    I fully agree.

I think they should add the option into the Settings, but have them 'off' as default.

The majority? i very much doubt that. However, options are always a good thing, cannot see it hurting the game having the option to enable them. That said, i'll keep them off, they are certainly not vital to me.

Agree. If immersion is a problem, then they could disable it by default and let it be toggled in Interface options.

I don't see how they're vital 100% of the time, however I would imagine that with telegraphing during PVE or PVP events a group leader would want them on to see which players are where easily. I'd thus agree to add the option back in.

Well, I think that some of us want to be able to see who a player is without being forced to put the middle of the screen on said person and read the target.

Personally, it's nothing other than I like to see players names, so I can remember people I like and be able to actually meet new friends in the game. Now all I see is some people running by, even if they help out or something, and then disappear. No time for me to remember any names involved.

If you only play with a set group of friends or just play solo I can understand why you don't see the need.

I fully agree with this, that its very important! This is a great game and way better than other mmo's on the market. But plz listen to the players and atleast make it as an option selection.

It is basic for every MMO, there must be the option to have them, I don't expect everyone to agree but still the majority do care.

Me and 20 of my wow friends played the beta, all of us thought the game is awesome, however for that SOUL reason, 12 of them didn't buy the game, they couldn't stand it in the beta that they are not able to interact with other people.

Just realize how many players are missing for such a simple reason and yet its just those who I know personally ...

I like the suggestion, I personally like to see as much information as I can. Personally it doesn't affect my immersion either but having an option would be great. It's probably only a matter of time till there's a Mod for it too.

Thats the thing, they disabled even the possibility of a mod to do that.

100% No sense, I do understand that all those who played countless hours in the normal Elder Scrolls don't like nameplates but this is no offline mode and I can't see how those who played other MMO's for years could disagree with me.

This is an online game and not solo game with the possibility of playing with others, therefore Social life are nedded and not having Nameplates, reduce it big time.

Of course you will see the Character Name, why would you want to see "@Name" ? O.o

Early in the beta, Nameplates where avaiable which means the tech does exist, they simply disabled it for no reason.

I really do not understand the issue.

You did not explain fully this statement:
"As said above, the nameplates are VITAL for the game, I don't understand why would you ignore such a majority of the player base?"

The closest I saw you come was:
"It is NOT fun to play alone.

We feel like running around empty shells, I can't even recall who is next to me, I haven't made a single friend around as I can't communicate with ANYONE AROUND ME and therefore I haven't made a single new friend so far who I didn't knew before the game launched."

Yet when you are grouped you see an icon over the other players name and see them on the 'M' map.

So I will just say for every one side of an opinion there is another. I enjoy not seeing everyone's name just floating there until I put my cursor over there. It helps avoid those that insist on naming themselves everything asinine under the sun. There is no gameplay issue I can think of that having names not displayed will hinder or help, and to ME it actually HELPS with my enjoyment and yes immersion in the game.

    By the way,
"I don't accept the excuse of immersion, its just stupid, I believe that MANY MORE will simply quit eventually without such feature."

It is a big deal to many people, mainly adults whom wish a reprieve from their daily life of work, kids, and bills. Anything that helps whisk them away from such things is a plus in 'MANY MORE' peoples books. Don't knock it if you don't understand.

I sent in a feedback report in every beta phase asking them to put it in as an option the player could decide to see or not see. If people want immersion let them have it if not let them have that. Alas they still not have done it, we can hope. Oh and if they are monitoring the post, and decide to add nameplates, please let guild players names be in a different color, much easier to see if large groups.

No one will get hurt if they will add back the feature, those who want it will be able to enable it and those who don't will be able to disable it and will be set disable by defualt.

I simply CAN'T see a single reason why would you limit those who like it and how will it hurt to those who don't?

And those who don't want to see this option, as it will be disabled by defualt, their point is simply invalid as it won't hurt them in any way, some people need it and the system is already built, why not let them use it?

No they aren't. Attack mechanics, movement mechanics and all the such are vital. This is just a utility, one that you don't need.

You are playing a game from a series that is based on immersion. Why are you playing a game that centers around immersion if you think it's stupid? Many people won't quit just because there are no name plates. They will adapt. A few people to lazy or uninterested in the actual game will, but not many.

Wrong again. Of course the don't want their game to fall down. I have made many friends, talked to many people and traded many items and much gold with out name plates, so can you. You are just to lazy to try.

Don't state an opinion as fact. I quite enjoy playing it single player some times.

All you have to do is look at them. Once again, it just appears you are to lazy to put the effort in. Your inability to remember the chap next to you is your fault, not Zenimax's. Try whispering some one, or zone chat, communicate there.

You realize that role players all use /say and /yell and they PROBABLY make up 10-20% of the player base, and they aren't the only people who use it.

Use zone chat for help, like me and any others, or better yet! Look at the player you are chasing and get his name so you can whisper to him. I don't remember a real life element where i have a massive name plate floating above me either.

They aren't ignoring you, they just aren't agreeing with you. Stop being a child, you don't need to have your personal opinion on the matter acknowledged by Zenimax and nor does anyone else. "Damage" LOL! You're saying it as if it's going to ruin the game. It's not.

Your argument is laughable, full of holes, false assumptions, made up statistics and personal opinions stated as fact.

FinchMP, why all that pointless hate?

I only shared my opinion and trying to make the game better for people like me and look how you mock me with that low language.

Who are you to tell what I need and what I don't need? that's my experience if you like it or not, no need that pointless hate.

Don't behave that way, it is really sad.

I absolutely agree. I find it confusing not to have nameplates. I can't even tell NPC from real player. I dont think it is wise to go forward doing it this way. I will be just as immersed with nameplates.

Maybe an add-on will solve it asap.
This is my signature. There are many like it - but this one is mine!

    So just a suggestion...

Maybe if you have trouble finding help for a quest or a friend to chat with. Why not join a guild, hell why not join 4 guilds. Change the color of the guild text to different colors. Put them all in one Chat box and wham. You have a chat box full of conversation, helpful and friendly players in a community you have chosen for yourself.

With a little effort there is absolutely no need to go running around and "chasing" people for help. There are so many tools in game that are there to help you already. It's only up to you to make the effort to look for them.

Putting in the option for nameplates doesn't hurt. If it's just a matter of preference, I do not see why it would be such a problem to utilize this utility.

Thing is, ZeniMax already made Nameplates, not like they have to develop it from the scretch ...

To those who played the really early Betas, there was an option for Nameplates like any other game, then at some point they grayed the option out and and then deleted them + disable the option for any mod to use that feature as well.

All they have to do is simply add the feature back or simply enable mods to code them, as of today, they locked it in a way it is not even possible to make an addon for it.

    Why?

Ultimately this game is still an MMO and by having things that helps facilitate communication with others is usually the best rule of thumb. If you want to play a game where you don't know who is around you, then why even pay the fee to play an mmo. You could just play a game with AI if you don't plan on interacting.

Not to mention zone chat is completely and utterly spammed by tons of people. As of right now I can't even tell people apart that are wearing heavy armor since a lot of people look similar unless they have a tail poking out. So while immersion is nice and some people value that over everything else, gotta have options for the rest of the players.
