Especially since the horses look so derpy. On the contrary nothing but plain undyed armor and basic horses sounds oppressively drab. I like that there are a variety of mounts and costumes to choose from and that people can put together outfits now. Yes, some people go too far and make garish outfits, but then again in real life you have people who wear garish clothing. Where things get a bit too flashy for my own personal taste are the skins. Lava people, zombie people, so on, but even so if that makes people happy, who am I to argue? Most people like to look and feel special. I like to dress my characters in bright jewel tones because I love the colors and ride senches because I hate the way horses look and I love cats. To me these options give the character more personality.

Yes, there were horses, but guars and all others are also cool in-game mounts that do exist in the lore. ZOS doesn't make cartoony shiny stuff, but all that looks quite fine.
Not sure how mounts made from melted cheese fit in lore

You're the one making glaring grammatical errors.
I on the other hand wrote 1 sentence that could potentially be misconstrued, but only if taken out of context.
Nobody else telling me I haven't played the game in years. Maybe the fault lies with you? Is that so hard to admit?
:,)
LOL, did not take anything out of context.
We can argue about the effectiveness of your communication skills all day long but I find it odd you are attempting to defend a statement that you have not played since launch as one meant to convey that you just returned to the game after being away for 4 years.
If that is so important you to then lets rock this discussion.
NVM, this is just sad. If you want that to mean you just return to the game then fine. We can view it as something you intended us to understand it was an intended meaning.

Okay guys, can we just agree now that we know what we all mean and get on to discussing the topic at hand rather than semantics? This is actually an interesting topic in my opinion, and I'd rather not see this thread closed.

I spent 5 hours Saturday trying to get my Earthgore Helm. Everyone was looking pretty but nobody knew how to fight.

Yes, you're right about that. And I don't have a huge problem with players creating their personal outfits. It's just that I would enjoy some more immersive and less glaringly hideous attire.

I'm assuming you're referring to the flame atronach mounts. How are they not lore friendly? Flame atronachs are canon, and ESO expanded on them in a reasonable way.
If they looked like fire atronachs perhaps... But they are melted cheese mounts. Perhaps in Shivering isles you could see them, but...

Unfortunately not, I have upgraded from a GTX 670 or a GTX 1070 Ti Advanced STRIX but my monitor is still 1080 HD...sorry..
Maybe when I build my new PC end of year/next year..plan on going 4-8k..maybe..

A shame - although couldn't you still render the game out to 4k and it basically just offers better anti-aliasing? Ah well, still, nice screenshots.
Even if your character is still a bit obnoxious. XD

What do you guys think of a toggle option that disables flashy things - aka replace all special mounts with horses, make pets disappear and maybe even the floating balls of certain sets. The more customizable the options, the better.

yeah but what you consider hideous is not the authority on the subject. Thankfully thats not for any of us to decide. And customization, while being a big money maker for a game, is also a HUGE selling point to players to even PLAY a game. Toning down customization would only hurt the game.
and besides, it hurts no one. Damages nothing. Takes away from nothing. This just sounds like a case of "Well, I don't like it, so it should change for my enjoyment" and thankfully that is not how life or video games work.
So go forth everyone and make any armor, outfit, costumes you like. And if people don't like it, then they don't need to look in your direction. =p
And about having an open mind. Wanting things the way you want them, which is what you're asking for here, let's be honest. Is not having an open mind. Having an open mind would be you accepting that people have different opinions on "what looks good" and what is "immersive" and that they can all coexist. But that's not what you're putting out there so *shrugs*
