No, instanced nodes would kill the market. This is not a single player game.

You are forgetting that there are *always* going to be people who do not want to spend their limited game time grinding, and will buy things that other people spent hours gathering. It's a fair trade, their gold for someone else's time doing something that they consider incredibly boring. Some of us are stubborn and will spend hours grinding not to sell but just for the mats we will use ourselves, because we refuse to give our money to someone who may be the reason that we are having trouble finding mats in the first place. And some of us think that being stubborn is a huge waste of time and gets in the way of getting to what we really want to be doing, which is not grinding for mats. It would balance out.

Maybe they could add it as a "feature" of a future chapter, like Craglorn has nirn and Summerset has some of its own nodes unavailable in the base game, this chapter has group gathering with gathering quests and a "gatherers motif" only available as a rare drop from the nodes in the new chapter.

Lets all be honest, besides this issue there are a lot of things that could be changed about the game to make the game more MMO-like.

Look at some of the DLC quest lines for example. It wouldn't hurt for there to be an instance that required you to get a buddy every few quests like a two man or three man+.

We need things to encourage group play like universal nodes.

Vote against the bots. Vote for instanced nodes.

The problem is, this idea would actually benefit the bots. More than the legitimate players, in fact.

The party cap is 24. That would mean, instead of one bot harvesting a node, you would see all 24 bots (or more) strip mining entire zones for their resources. In the range of what would benefit you, it would crash the Temper market. Unfortunately, that would come at the cost of increasing the bot population beyond their current limits and encouraging the gold sellers to become bolder, again.

Beyond that, there is already content that encourages group play. There have been 4 DLCs that included group dungeons. These are repeatable zones that require you to group up for more difficult content. Also, all three of the large zones added since release have included public dungeons. Technically these don't require an entire team to clear, but depending on your skill as a player, additional help may be necessary.

I understand your intent, but the secondary consequences of this change would work directly against what you want.

    So, here's a thought:

Change the way hirelings work. Instead of them depositing materials into your mail, have the game query your account at 12pm and 12am. Online or not. Drop the crafting mats for all of your hirelings, across all of your characters, into your craft bag (even if you're not an ESO+ member). (Possibly with a single invoice sent to your mailbox for each hireling type.) Add a hireling for alchemy (they can be stingy as hell, if desired), and one for jewelry. This would lower material costs, and give you easier access to more, without directly incentivizing goldellers to disrupt your experience. Now, it would foster goldsellers. But, it would also streamline that system enormously, and make the multiple hireling dance a thing of the past.

    Well put, Minyassa.

    Vote for instanced nodes!

Tbh, nothing should be shared or even phased. ESO in general presents the least believable world of all MMOs I've seen.
