CP cap and character power

So, since CPs became the new "ranking system", every patch the cap has been raised. We started from 501 and are now 750, and in one year time, we will be able to have 840 cps to allocate wherever we want.
Despite I realize this is not and will never be a problem in PVE, in PVP the situation is slowly but constantly getting out of hand. Right now it is possible to unlock 2 of the two 120 passives without many sacrifices, which is already crazily strong, and the more time passes, the stronger (all) our characters get. Am I the only one who sees big issues upcoming in the future passives because of this? Should ZoS start considering a lower CP cap in pvp/rework the number of points needed to get a specific CP passive bonus?

All part of the power fantasy. You want your character to become progressively stronger and more powerful.

If not, why have progression in the first place?

That's one reason I play the no cp campaign. We're all just "level 50" there.
And in PVP you have the choice to join a cp or no cp campaign.

Tbh I hope they add fifth stats to everything

    EX:

Bonus duration to minor buffs up to x%, y% more major buff duration

x% more resource from potions, with hp, mana, stam seperated

x% more from food, , with hp, mana, stam seperated

x% more stam or mana returned from abilities and buffs (Like energy orb etc)

x% less speed loss from movement debuffs

    and so on

They just need to do away with the entire current system and create a new way to progress your character. It won't be much fun When people can be super tanks and damage gods. Nobody will kill anyone else.

This power is not that great when you realize they keep nerfing other stuff, like healing, crit and actual tooltip damage to compensate.

My guess is, when two strong passives start to become viable at the same time, they will just either nerf the passive or move it around.

I Like the idea of getting that powerful. First, it gives me something to work towards, and second, it feels like a great payoff for all the time I put into my character. Let's face it, after all the stuff you do in-game you're character has got to be; lore-wise, among the strongest mortals; unless you're a vamp, living. When a game can make you feel that as well, it's truly an awesome thing.

No cp in PvP makes some sense, it does not give players who has played an year an serious bonus.
I also think CP is stronger in PvP than PvE as in PvE, as pve builds are more min / max and this get less out of cp
also pve is all about progression you do harder and harder content and the new content tend to be harder and harder at least on HM.

However I play non cp pvp because overall skill level is closer to my own :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I hate it when they try to fixed PvP and ruin PvE happened too many times, just play the non cp stuff if you feel they will ruin the game.

one of the biggest problems was the cp sustain nerf, I hating having to rely on heavy attacks and always be out of recources, made me quit ESO for like a year. This was mostly because of unlimited rseources in PvP

Imo cp should just give you raw stats. Cp increase max mana, stam and health already but they should also give increased regen.

Get rid of all that tenacity, befoul nonsense that can be so broken in pvp.

(If cp dont give a dmg and sustain bonus, combat will feel too sluggish, like it does in no cp campaigns).

People are too invested in the time they spent to get cp and cp pvp is a huge gap and broken and the game is balanced around it and even affects pve... I hate skyrim and fallout 4 because of no level cap, there is no sacrifices to be made and can easily make a jack of all trades character. Eso is similar in that the cap is too high and let's you make these godly builds with less consequences.

I'd cap cp at around 280 but keep cps above it to be cosmetic and just be a show of time played . I'd then add milestone rewards like costumes to keep the incentive of leveling

I don't play the game to be constantly nerfed and only get weaker after each update :|

They already took away too many nice things. CPs - even in gutted state without cost reduction and with some useless stars - is one of very few nice things which are still in game.

eventually it will get the way it was before battle spirit, you know, everyone running around one shotting each other(IMO it was a bit funner back then), its actually pretty close to that already, maybe when it gets like that, they will tweak battle spirit to take 75% of damage/healing.

To make pvp in an mmo remotely "fair", u need a naked fistfighting campaign.

CP has been reworked alot of times now, and will continue to be reworked in the future. The system will undergo a mojor change, when the first ppl hit 3k, i'd assume sth in the lines of maximum increased to 10k, double the amount of points needed for unlocks and boosts. Or morphs of the consteallation.

If u feel cp is to stronk for pvp, play no cp campaign.

They need to remove cp in pvp but they need to reward max cp characters. Maybe something like former emp buff. Increased stats that aren't completely game breaking. You get the full amount at cp cap and you get a percentage if you are below.

The main issue is, as the raw numbers of CP system go up, they need to nerf base skills and classes to compensate. And that leads to a lot of homogenisation.

Just look at healing... Every single patch individual skills and passives get nerfed because healing gets too strong.

Progression is what makes people get this nice little warm glow "ding - your character got better" feeling; and diminished results plus catch-up mechanic means the gap is manageable. And for those who really feel it unfair, there are no-CP campaigns.

I really see no issue with characters getting better through more time invested at all... that's how it is supposed to work, and its waaaay more fun earning more CP then you can spend rather then playing half a year at some "level cap" knowing all the expees you could have earned will be wasted...

CP on pvp is just a lagfest, i maybe in minority here but i want cp to begone on the pvp side, that will make all tanks builds unkillable though, i hope we have a middle ground about this

on PvE cp is fine i dont see the problem there.

If I was a new player think it would be ace if I took out a player in pvp that was miles ahead of me in terms of cp....

Also kind of would be fun to come across a max cp player and run for the hills!!! -insert coconut clopping noise-

Isn't that the fun of pvp....plus the new player can get to high cp one day, just keep playing :)

The catch-up mechanic should work better. The problem is that people cannot even come close to the CP cap before its raised by another 30 again.

Up to 75% of the CP cap should be pretty fast, after that CP gain could be like it is currently.
