Should Polls Automatically Have an "Other" Option?

I can't be the only one who gets annoyed when polls are so simplistic they don't cover your response. Not precisely what you were thinking, but not a single option that generally covers how you would react.

It's also incredibly presumptions for poll makers to assume they'd know how every individual forum goer would react by not including a generic "other" option.

    Nope, because sometimes you want a simple A or B answer and those who don't feel comfortable voting with that can just comment without voting.

    If you're not after a simple A or B answer then you can include an other for those who wish to choose that option.

    Also in before lock of another poll about polls poll.

    The purpose of a poll is to measure a populations opinions, if people don't vote because they are not represented by the set answers, then you are failing to gather any meaningful data. Everyone needs to be represented even if that answer is "none of the above" then you will know that the set answers are not representative of the community.

    If people can't vote because there is no "other" option then it is granting unfair preference to the set answers that people can vote on.

    Further, how frequently can anything in ESO be accurately answered by a simple "A" or "B"? Once in a blue moon from what I've seen.

    Yes.
    It would cut down on biased polls.

    Although, I noticed that in this poll about poll options, there was no choice for "other".

    People are certainly good at creating polls that have only a few, biased options. An 'other' option should be there at least for those.

    On a slightly more serious note, at least the poll options usually make it apparent whether it's worth your time engaging in discussion with the poll creator.
