Long term TES fan although Skyrim was the first one I beat (the others I just got lost running around and enjoying the open world).

I had actually sworn off new MMO games due to SWTOR being a flop for me, I planned to just play EVE Online and not pick up new ones. I signed up to the beta to at least try and... fell in love.
From the moment I started running through Coldharbor and onto Bleakrock I was sold as this being a game I would love for a very long time.

Played Morrowind, around the time of Oblivion's release (loaned by a friend)
Played Oblivion maybe a couple years beyond release?
    Played Skyrim on release.
Only came to ESO last spring, after feeling bored & seeing a sale.
(played a number of other MMOs in the vanilla-WoW-and-later era)

I started my journey with Daggerfall more years ago than I care to remember. Whilst I dig ESO, but it's ultimately just filler while I wait for ES6. It could be a very long wait based on what I've read.

    Morrowind - Oblivion - Skyrim - Eso.

I Love all the TES games, but my absolute favourite is Morrowind , after comes oblivion, then Eso, idk why but there is just something "deep" and mystical with morrowind that i feel the other TES games is lacking, especially Skyrim. :-)

I remember I rented Morrowind back in the early 2000s from a Blockbuster video. I think by then it was slightly old and the out of date graphics turned me off, so I didn't get far. A few years later I picked up Oblivion on a lark and was blown away, as I had never played a game like that before. Well, I guess I did but didn't know it, as I didn't give Morrowind much of a chance.

Many hours were spent in Cyrodiil on multiple characters, builds and questlines, and then I moved onto Skyrim, although it didn't capture me like Oblivion did. I still played it quite a bit of Skyrim in any case, and when I first heard about ESO in 2012 or so, I knew it was something I was going to try out. I never managed to get into the closed beta, but I was there from the open beta weekends onwards, and the rest is history; been playing ESO heavily with intermittent breaks since 2014.

Didn't at Skyrim untill two? years after it came out and was addicted. After a few hundred hours in there Xbox gold was selling Oblivion for $2 and I put a few hundred hours in there. Soon after getting into Skyrim I learned some of the lore and was hooked, so naturally when I saw a free play weekend a year and a half ago I decided to check this game out.

^That, "Played a few MMOs", and stumbled across it.

I played Oblivion but honestly the jarring face-cam turned me off it for a while, but the side stories in Skyrim (tbh screw the main) were engaging and I found it fairly well written if not...well engineered. The lore was entertaining enough to get me to actually go searching around the internet while I was playing the game to learn more.

I played a bit of WoW and GW2, but the bland quests and lack of voice acting (which straight up killed FFXIV for me) lead me to give up on them after a few months.

ESO was on sale at Target while I was grocery shopping and I figured why not try it out for $20. Initially when I encountered it I wasn't going to buy it because the trailer seemed to imply nothing but PvP, and that isn't really my thing. (Still isn't, Cyrodiil PvP is the most dull thing I've ever seen)

Skipped Battlespire and Redguard. Funny but I remember Arena the best out of the pre-Skyrim games. I wish they could add in a dream mechanic in some future chapter, even if just for that storyline.

Loved Morrowind, along with KOTOR 1, it's one of the 2 best games I've ever played. Nothing has ever matched that feeling of "This is my world to go play in, I can do anything". The ability to go anywhere but at the same time not because you're not powerful enough was eaten away over the course of Oblivion and Skyrim so I've become less and less of a fan.

I also played many MMOs prior to ESO so it's a bit of both options for me. Anarchy Online, Mankind, Earth and Beyond and SWTOR were all major highlights in my gaming history.

So a marriage of the two elements, MMO & ES, is awesome. It's not as great in practice as I'd like, especially as a I just find overland too easy to enjoy properly.

So nice to see so many other TES fans. I've been a TES fan since Morrowind, and bought ESO because of Summerset, and because I didn't want to wait years for TES6. It's been a lot of fun so far, even though I find the MMO aspects baffling.

    Where is the “other” option?!?

I picked it up because there was no Fallout 4 yet, so this was the next best thing.

I’d only ever played a tiny amount of Oblivion and never even finished Skyrim (just because I get stuck doing side quests all the time).

This was also my first ever MMO and to be completely honest, the only reason I stuck with it, after the release of Fallout 4, is because I get to run around as a freaking tiger!

Ages ago I was an Everquest player. Since then I have played a lot of games with Star Wars the Old Republic being my last MMO type game. That one did not satisfy due to the shoddy design. Every space ship port was the same and they had half a dozen buildings that were recycled.

I played Naval Action a lot, but that game has fallen apart, so I went in search of a MMO.

Tried Black Desert Online. I loved the look, but I didn't like the combat and it does not have traditional DnD roles (tank, healer, magic and physical damage) that require teamwork. But parts of the game were spectacular. The horse mechanics in particular were a lot of fun. Crafting and upgrading... meh.

Tried Everquest 2, but it's dead.

I watched one of those top 5 MMO for 2017 videos and saw Elder Scrolls and it looked good to me.

I am having a blast. It is fitting my play time and style very well. Well done.

I have some quibbles, but all in all, well done.

To be honest, this was sort of a last-ditch attempt after playing and getting tired of many different MMOs in the past. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much it has apparently improved since launch (well - aside from EU server stability, apparently!), and I've been here since, enjoying itself.

Played Oblivion first. I'd never seen a game with sword/shield first combined with first person before, so I bought it on the xbox live store and fell in love.

Then I went back and played Morrowind and disliked it at first since I couldn't understand why every hit was missing.Once I figured out that I needed a high weapon skill I fell in love with that game too.

A few years later I began playing MMO's in the form of World of Warcraft, which I still play to this day.

Then Skyrim came out several years later. I didn't like it, I felt it was too watered down and it barely felt like an Elder Scrolls game to me anymore, plus the lore just wasn't as interesting imo. Fortunately the modding community saved that game and made it one of the most fun games that I've ever played.

I was worried about Elder Scrolls Online at first. The first screenshots they released made it look like they were changing to a rather strange art style with blue plastic-bits on shields and whatnot. Over time things started to look better though, I used to watch Elder Scrolls Online Weekly over on ShoddyCast and my desire to play the game became almost unbearable as I saw more and more of it.

Fortunately I got in the beta in January 2014 and fell in love with ESO just like I fell in love with Morrowind and Oblivion. The only time I considered quitting was shortly after I hit level 50 due to the whole business with Veteran Ranks and Cadwell's Silver/Gold. The difficulty spike felt a little ridiculous, especially around VR3 and I unsubscribed for a few months. Craglorn was incredibly underwhelming too since I couldn't do any of the content due to it being tuned for multiple players.

Then they announced that they were going to get rid of Veteran ranks and I hopped right back into the game and have remained subbed since. I was so relieved when they finally started doing proper, single player content like Orsinium, the Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood. Then One Tamriel came out and the game seems to have been on the right track ever since.
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

If you select one of the first 3 options, you must have played it from it's release year, not someone who played Morrowind after Skyrim etc.

Morrowind on the OG Xbox was my first taste of Elder Scrolls. I have been hooked ever since.

Elder Scrolls Offline, which was the first thing I googled when I found out about this game

there's a mod I'd love to but will never see.
Say NO to Crown Crates. Crown Crates are Loot Boxes. Loot Boxes are gambling. Zenimax makes enough money off us.
ESO+ is part of the "Games as a service" trend. A trend that needs to die. Subscribe only when you need Crowns for DLC.
Say no to "radiant" junk quests replacing proper side content and the dumbing down of our favorite franchises.

I've played Oblivion and Skyrim. I never heard of ESO until my mate showed me the game a little after its official launch. After showing me this class (now known as the Dragon Knight class) enveloped in this spiraling fire I just had to get it. I first played on his account for a while then later made my own but man those days were fun, less lag, classes with strong identities/lacking similarities, etc.
