    Other:

The Fallout series sort of brough me here. Been gaming long enough on PC to remember Arena in the stores but this type of games didn't interest me at the time. It took the entire Fallout series and because of Fallout 3 I decided to test Skyrim shortly after release (yes I'm a Skyrim-kiddy or actually Skyrim-man  ).

Fell in love with the game and when they announced ESO I signed up for the beta. During the beta I didn't really like the game but in January 2016 I decided to give it a go.

    Been here ever since.

played morrowind on the original xbox.
    played oblivion on the 360.
and then i came to my senses and abandoned that inferior brand and embraced the playstation 3, where i played skyrim.
when ESO released it was a no brainer to try it out (on ps4 of course) and see what all this MMORPG style of games is like.

Long-term MMO player. I played ESO on PC during beta; wasn’t overly impressed with all the bugs, and wasn’t used to the atypical MMO UI, so I promptly went back to LOTRO when beta was over. I kept hearing good buzz about ESO, though, as the game matured, so it was always in the back of my mind.

In 2015 or so, I finally got around to playing Skyrim and Oblivion and loved them (which got me thinking about ESO again). In early 2016, LOTRO was increasingly feeling like an endless, pointless, cash-grabbing grind...so after eight years in that game, I decided to return to ESO. And I loved it!

When One Tamriel dropped a few months into my return, my old gaming laptop just couldn’t handle the game anymore, so I switched to PS4. After a year and a half on PS4, I’m FINALLY at CP cap and still in love with the game. :) Easily the best MMO I’ve ever played.

Hmm I think it starts with Skyrim.
I played 32 bit version alot and when Special edition was released I played that too. After that I begin to play Oblivien and then two of my friends told me to try ESO and I tried it.

When I just bought it was a mess for me I was playing a MMO so I played ESO for like 2 weeks and the game was not that good like that game I played before.

In January 2017 one of my friends told me to try ESO again and start up with him. We did and I played. In that week when I startet me and my friend joined a guild "The Danish Guild" And that hooked me to the game. Now I have played the game for over a year and it is the best MMO I ever played. I cant live without my Argonians
Like Argonians for being Lizards so Awesome to acturly play as favorite fantacy race in a MMO

I have a friend who is a long time Elder Scrolls fan. His gushing about it made me want to try it in hopes of playing together. I didn't know we wouldn't because we were on different platforms.

I bought a couple more copies for other people but no one else has taken a difference. Sometimes I feel judged by gamer friends for liking it when I only have the one friend from real life who plays it.

    New To MMO's
I remember reading reviews when this game first launched: "If you think this is a Skyrim MMO, this isn't a game for you."

After reading the article, I became curious. I've never played an MMO before, but I was open to the excitement of a new way to play games.

Alas, it was on PC only (at the time).

Then the news came it was being ported.

Been playing ever since, though not consistently. The game's early days weren't enjoyable to me, but today, this is the ESO I've been waiting for.

I'm actually having fun playing the game as much of the "chore" has been thankfully removed.

Yesterday, I parsed 24k damage. Yeah, crap score for many of you, I'm sure. To me, this is proof those not in the 1% can start to see benefits in actually enjoying a character build.

    Next goal: 30k. :)

+ my first MMO. I've only heard of WoW before but never tried so I wanted to see what's the fuss about that genre. Really enjoyed the first year and the new "players everywhere" experience, and happily paid a subscription for great entertainment. Downhill, however, since the B2P change.

I bought ESO on the Xbox when it launched. I bought Morrowind with a gift card I had. Until a couple weeks ago I had a total of 7 hours in eso.

I was mainly gaming on PC but was getting burnt out. I picked up an xbox x a couple weeks ago and one of the x enhanced games was eso. So I installed eso, started a Warden, found a new guild and started listening to the Loreseekers podcast. I have played every day since, I've played almost every mmo console and PC since Lotro 11 years and I have to say I haven't had this much fun in an mmo since mines or moria.

I remember my first ever Mmo. It was Rift.

I really liked it, it was very similar to "WOW" for what I knew at the time about that game. But then, in some way or another... I forgot about it and stop playing it. I then when from this game to another game I am about to mention, an incredible story driven Mmo, if I can add still to this day. That Mmo is The Secret World, now know as Secret World Legends. There I stick with that game very much since ESO came out.

That Mmo really hurt me, not in a sentimental way, but rather as a disappointment experience in which was very uncomfortable but I stood long enough around back in those days, because even though many things transpire to be bad for many people that might seem bad at that time. That game is and have an incredible story telling experience. Even though, if you ask to another Secret World Legend agent like me (I am retire from that work) people that still around and came back, will still state that is all about the story.

And too keep adding, till this day that game allow me to meet two friends. That in this day I still have contact with. Sadly enough they do not play this game, they like many other got really burned out with Mmos.

Then I stop playing that game, moths after my friends never came back to play. Months and years pass. Then this game happen. ESO. And oh boy, is one of this games that made every child dreams come to life. It is a game that became my ultimate and everlasting Mmo for me. This game for me is the complete package. Regarding Mmo fantasy genre.

Started with the xbox release of Morrowind. I think I may have lost a few years of my life to that game....

I tried playing arena, I really did, but never managed to get it set up properly on any system. :(

I've never compared ESO to any TES main series title. MMORPG is conceptually so much different than RPGs, I don't see how anyone could compare them. I compare ESO to other MMORPGs I've played, mainly EO and EVE and TERA. It stands up pretty well compared to them.

As for the main series I feel like with every title there's some good and some bad, sometimes more, sometimes less. Morrowind is still my favourite, mainly because I didn't care much about the combat (Morrowind's greatest flaw for a lot of people). Oblivion I felt was the worse by far - zeropunctuation described it best: 'trudging through an english country side covered with layers of *bloom*'. Skyrim was great, but there was way too much hand-holding (and its shortcoming: a lack of direction without the said hand-holding ).

Had to walk away from WoW many years ago, it was taking up too much of my life. I really missed the MMORPG element so I kept an eye out for an MMO on consoles. There weren't many to choose from at the time so ESO really scratched the itch. It's great to be able to game with my IRL friends and make new friends in game. I never thought I would find a game as good as WoW but, in many ways, ESO is better.

Short Term Elder Scrolls Fan [Skyrim] and I had player other MMORPGs before (namely, Lineage2 and WoW, with a small inursion in some F2P ones), and even more MMOs.

I was looking for a MMORPG to play now that I have time for it.
And I was in the middle of my SkyrimSE playthrough.

I love ES lore, and at the end it as either GW2 or ESO.

ESO was more aesthetically appealing, had the lore component and, to top that, it was reccommended by a friend of mine.

And I could find it for very, very cheap.

Skyrim got me hooked onto the Elder Scrolls series, so I naturally was mega-hyped when ESO was announced. Been here since launch, with only a few breaks to play single-player games like ME:Andromeda and the Witcher 3 (and the occasional re-run of Skyrim).
