Long Term Elder Scrolls Fan [Morrowind/Oblivion Onwards]
I liked Elder Scrolls since Oblivion. When Skyrim came out I died. When the online aspect was announced I was excited! I was playing world of Warcraft up until my computer crapped out. (Thank you Windows ten).
I then got a ps4 and started playing dc online until this came out. I waited a bit until this was on sale and a few patches were out. Loved it so far.

I've played hundreds of hours of Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, and wanted another Elder Scrolls fix. Took me a few months to really get into this game, and that was after I found a guild. The social aspect of this game especially really keeps me invested.

I started playing Oblivion before Skyrim, technically, but Skyrim came out shortly after I started Oblivion. Still enjoyed the heck out of both.
Oh, and also have been playing MMOs for what is now more than half of my life, but I picked ESO out of all my current options largely because I love the TES lore and ESO playstyle.

I had played Tera and GW2, and LOTRO.
Tera was really nice/cool, but seemed like hardly anyone was around on the PvE server.
So far am enjoying EOS. I much prefer the slower character progression (Neverwinter has more "fun" combat sorta, but when you can get to max level in like 10-14 days of casual play, and then it's nothing but grind every 3 months, it becomes very very boring).
Although GW2 had some nice puzzles/exploring stuff.
Thank you all for sharing! It's super interesting to see the wide assortment of reasons why players decided to give ESO a try and we love reading them. Whether you've been a fan of The Elder Scrolls for years or just starting to enjoy it now, we're glad you've decided to experience ESO for yourselves, regardless of the reason, and hope you're enjoying it in equally individual ways.

btw, should you ever stop supporting ESO, please consider sooner rather than later a means of converting to an offline version. A leveled version, not a scaled one.
Say NO to Crown Crates. Crown Crates are Loot Boxes. Loot Boxes are gambling. Zenimax makes enough money off us.
ESO+ is part of the "Games as a service" trend. A trend that needs to die. Subscribe only when you need Crowns for DLC.
Say no to "radiant" junk quests replacing proper side content and the dumbing down of our favorite franchises.
PCMR EU.
some guy i've played archeage with convinced me and some other folks of our old guild to start playing ESO after we all quit archeage. guy quit after a week, i'm still here :P had a few breaks from the game, but keep coming back ^^
Unsure what to Pick. I've only ever played Skyrim on the Xbox, But I've also played other MMO's. I thought it'd be the best of both world, and I've quite enjoyed my on and off time with it.

I started with Morrowind and played last Skyrim, when i was so far in Skyrim that i played with over 200 Mods, something broke and the Guards/NPCs began flying randomly around i remembered that i had bought ESO Gold for 20 Euro on a sale in my local Shop. I installed it around 13 Months ago and woke up in the Wailing Prison. My very first MMO ever. 6 months or so, i played it like a Single Player Game with some other Folks around, playing on the NA Server, when i play, as a German, over Day, it often feels like a Single Player Game, lol. Anyway, after 6 Months or so and getting better, i entered my first Guild and regretted it not once. This Guild, i was the 3th or 4th Member after founding and even if Im now in 5 Guilds, my very first Guild iIm still a Member off, the others ´have changed. Im 35, i have multiple mental problems(Borderline, ADHD and manic-depressed) to name just a few, i also have often panic leaving the house and without ESO i would be isolated. Yes, it has Problems, but, the Amount of things you can do, the diverse Landscapes, to sooth, whatever mood you are in. Fishing, questing, PVP, PVE, farming, exploring, be a Hero, be a ***, do whatever you like. I love it and hope that we have many Years before us. And, Im poor, still have ESO PLus, but beeing poor, I know, that when TES 6 comes out, i will not have the Rig to play it, not at the beginning anyway, so i will stay in ESO for a long time yet. My main is on cp687, my crafter can call himselfe Master Crafter in maybe 2 months Time and i just did, the other Week my very first Vet Trial, vetAA, now i know why we kill the Overchargers first in normal AA lol. I have still a way to go with my now 7 Toons, 5 on my cp lvl, lol. Its just the best that is out there me things

Master Crafter including Jewelry, i craft for Mats and Donation, always happy to help, if Im not in the Middle of PVP, i play since around 14 Months

I liked the lore generated from TES II: Daggerfall. Some of the books in ESO first appeared in the bookstores in TES II, and players like me actually read them. I read the books again in TES III: Morrowind, in the book stores in Balmora, Suran, and Vivec. In TES V: Skyrim, I got the mod that let you put the books in a library in your house, and I spent hours arranging them so they looked nice and were in a rational reading order.
"No, Lydia, you can't be the butler here."
The books are in ESO, too, with a lot of additional books. But after I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online a while, I start noticing that every single culture: Nord, Orc, Redguard... has been bent in the direction of left-wing political correctness. Bummer.
For example, there's over-correction for patriarchy. The game is afflicted with a general case of "Towering Females, Cowering Males." Every time you turn around, some NPC is telling you, "Oh, you'll have to speak with our Great Leader. She's over there." Pie in the face go splat! Everywhere you look, some male NPC is hiding behind a woodpile, while a female NPC is standing on top of another one fighting heroically against imps or some other fearsome creature. You keep running into wimpy men trying to escape from the clutches of their overprotective warrior-wives. Bleah.
There are other leftist PC twerks, too, but since this connects into real-world politics that are becoming something of a deadly real-world game, I'll omit the discussion. They are rather—ah, no I can't use that word anymore—er, strange. If you have played through the alliance territories' quest lines, you'll have run into those twerks. If you're a leftist, you probably like them. If you're anybody else, you probably don't.
Still, I stay for the lore. It's (barely) close enough to what Tamriel should be that I'm still here.

I started MMOs with WoW. Prior to that I was a MUD player (Dragonrealms anyone?? Anyone?)
I loved WoW. I had gotten in on Alpha access (I have a friend connected) and played almost daily (weekly certainly) since then until the day I got this game.
I'd tried others (FF, Rift, SWTOR, SW, BDO, GW2) but nothing could hold my attention. Until this.
PC/NA - Daytime player - Obnoxiously Casual Player - PVE/RP
Played them all and loved them, even in their buggy glory. I still remember getting lost in some of those fiendish dungeons with the 3D maps in Daggerfall looking for some trinket buried deep within.

i didn't play them all in order, but i've completed all the standalone games except daggerfall. that damned pseudo-3D map killed me, I never could get the hang of it. After at least a half dozen attempts I gave up. The first one I played was Oblivion, then after that, I went back & picked up Morrowind. I then picked up Arena and Daggerfall when they were released it for their anniversaries, finished Arena after a few tries, and gave up on Daggerfall., And then I finally got Skyrim about a year after it came out..
I was always curious about MMO's but never found one that interested me like TES. I did try D&D Online for a couple months but it didn't do anything for me. Finally, when ESO went B2P, I picked it up for a good price through GreenManGaming. Then I ended up subbing anyway when they released the crafting bag.
