weird...I *just* had this discussion with guild members a coupla days ago - I had this sudden urge to dye my nix-ox hound to some other color (we started by talking about dyeing the dippy sparkle pony pink, of course), and dyeing mounts became an option
obviously, some people will probably push for dyeing their mounts into the most absurd colors just to get attention and "stand out", as if that were a thing...but yes, in general, I'd like to think that being able to dye my guars, or horses, or giant skittery tick/spider/bug things into a wider range of appropriate colors...would be a nice, minor addition to the game.
I don't think they will implement this cause when they recolor a mount it goes to crown store
Of course I would love to be able not only dye mounts, but add some mixed patterns (white lioness with black spots), extra things (for example add few more lava spots to Nightmare Senche's body) and change textures (I want my Black Lion be truly dark even under bright light). This would be amazing!
But even the option to simply dye armor of mounts would be very nice
Immersion

Couldn't the thinking be applied to outfits and costumes? Does dyeing outfits and costumes stop people wanting more motifs and costumes?
It would simply be another layer of customization. Perhaps ZoS could sell mount dye packs, useable on specific mount types? Or mount skins that change the look, without needing a direct dye function.
Pretty much anything can be monetized, though I do think there are enough sources of income for ZoS as it is, but I'm sure they'd find a way to put something in the crown store.

i have the feeling, you didnt really get, what i said. sometimes its good, if ure able to read between the lines.

Buuuut I would love to see it for dying the accessories on a mount--saddle, bridle, etc. Since i color coordinate everything else it kind of sucks the effect is ruined on my favorite mounts by a clashing saddle!
Dyeing the fur/scales/carapaces of mounts would be nonsense.
Dyeing bridles/armor is necessary feature.
