You can delete 2 more at the moment. I presume there is a cap on deletes of 3 to save server issues.

You will regain one more delete each day, so tomorrow will have 3 again.

its to prevent some1 from getting into your account and deleting all your charcters, its also to prevent people from farming the daily quests. theirs a cool down on the limit, (i dont remember what it is, i think its 24hours)

It also stoped the gold seller spam in zone chat. So yeah I don't think they will ever get rid of it. Maybe one day they will add more delete slots but I imagine not that many for purchase from crown store.

I actually asked support about it awhile ago cause I wanted them to delete a character for me and they could not

Their response is that it is to action against bots so that they can't delete and recreate the characters so their reports wont go to waste

Ugh here I am, unable to play the game I'm paying for because I can't create my char. Last night I had to delete it 3 times because it just doesn't look the same in the character creator, and only have 1 slot (that I actually had to BUY). I'm a sub with 8 characters 780CP, been here since beta, I think I deserve to create my character all the times I want.

If you need to fight bots do it another way please or have some tolerance system for trusted players.

If you wait out the cool down, I think only 24 hours for one deletion, you'll be able to delete the character you don't want. And you can still play the game, if not necessarily the new character you are trying to make.

I love this game and sorry for throwing negativity but it has been more than 24 hs now seems my first delete and still can't delete! I bought a character slot specially for this...it's absurd.

If you're on PC, you can create your character on the test server, then use free appearance change tokens to get the look perfect (they're free only on the test server), then write down all that character's specs (such as "eye separation 4 clicks from the left" or whatever). Some people just take screenshots of the sliders. Then re-create your perfect character on the live server.

Thank you, I tried using the EU server, but crown cosmetics don't transfer there, and I wanted to use some new hairstyles. I'll try PTS next time.

It's 24 hours from your last delete, before you get a delete back.

So if you delete a character, wait 23 hours, and then delete another character, you won't get a delete back in an hour, you'll have to wait 24 hours from the last delete to get one back.

I know because I make a lot of alts and delete and remake them sometimes.

indeed a tolerance system would be nice. I often recreate my char several times cause i aint happy after creation and now i can't cause i have no spare slots and have deleted 3 chars ...
The truth of the matter is that everyone gets punished for the misbehavior of bots

Or at least make it so that the deletions don't count as 1 of the 3 available as long as a new character hasn't delivered a quest

Yes, remember that one, it was the coldharbor quest there you meet the groundskeeper, you notice that quest give no gold or xp reward either who was probably an temporary fix until they added delete limit and never changed back
Think it also was a bit weird that it gave plenty of gold to low level characters for some reason.

It's kind of hilarious watching people complain about anti-botting measures that have proven to be highly effective and also thinking that there's a HUGE number of bots in the game now, when those people clearly weren't around to see what it was like before those anti-botting measures were introduced.

Here's what it was like before the anti-botting measures:

1. You hardly ever got to see anything in zone chat that wasn't gold selling spam because those came so fast and furious that you missed anything that legitimate players were actually saying. Most gold selling spam messages were also formatted in a way that a single message was more lines than you'd see in the chat box unless you had enlarged it - this was intentional so that people couldn't easily click on the spammer's name to report them.
2. Every single delve boss in the game (with the exception of the Cyrodiil delves and the Coldharbour delves) was camped by a dozen or more templars in soul shriven robes. The biting jabs would light up in unison as the boss was spawning, and it would melt instantly, meaning that legitimate players only had a small chance of getting a hit in and getting credit for the kill/delve clear. In some cases I had to hang out through 10+ respawns of a boss just to get a hit in before it died.
3. Multiple locations in the game with simple "talk to this person and get gold" quests had an endless stream of characters in soul shriven robes running to them and then disappearing. I don't remember all of the locations where this happened, but Riften was one of them for sure.
4. During the instantly respawning jute bug that affected Stonefalls (I was never clear on why it was only in Stonefalls, but at the time zones were leveled and instanced by alliance so jute was the only cloth that could spawn there as it was specifically the EP version of Stonefalls), every single jute node in the entire zone had about a half dozen bots camping it. Some of us used to have fun dragging netches onto them and killing them with the poison AOE. GMs also used to occasionally announce that they were in the zone to nuke the bots, and real players would gather around to watch the fun as a GM came up to a node, checked to see who were real players and who were bots, and then destroyed the bots.

In other words, the anti-botting measures that were put in place (including the cooldown on character deletions, as that was one of the most effective ones) should absolutely never be removed, unless you want ESO to be completely overrun with bots. It would even be way worse than before, because back then the base game was more expensive than it is now, and it had a mandatory subscription. With no more mandatory subscription, and being able to find the base game much more cheaply now, there's a lower barrier to entry for botters.

There is literally no legitimate reason for the character deletion cooldown to be removed. Can't get a character looking right after 3 attempts? That's not a legitimate reason to want the character deletion cooldown to be removed: rather that's a legitimate reason to want the lighting etc in the character creation to be the same as in-game and/or to want to be allowed to do a free appearance change within a certain time period of character creation.
