Salty People - how are we supposed/allowed to kill you?

If people are killed, it means either that they're not as good as the opponent, or that their strategy was wrong. Even if they did not see it coming. No reason to get angry and salty. Simply try again if you think you can win or improve.

I've been messaged and t-bagged so many times that i even created an addon mute them, and to spot them more easily, and kill them again. And again. And again...

ESO PVP isn't balanced. I think it would be nice if people could avoid using cheese.

I will rage whisper the following:
    -cloak ninjas
    -cheesy emps
-people using coldfire on me when I'm alone
-people who t-bag me after they've killed me with 3-to-1 (or more) odds

The cloak ninjas I especially don't understand. It's usually good players who've decided that their enjoyment of the game is more important that everyone else's enjoyment.

Conversely I will also whisper people to tell them "well played" or "fun fight" if I come across them and we have a good fight, no matter if I win or lose.

ESO PVP is just a game. I wish people could be more sportsmanlike about it.

Some people are just delusional. For instance, last night my buddy and I are AD and we're running around Imperial City on Vivec PC and we're running through the districts for some small scale PvP and Tel Var. I port into the next district and my buddy (through Discord) tells me that he was jumped in the previous district by two DC. Luckily he is a DK so he's able to survive a bit. I get back to the district he is in with the 2 DC that are attacking him and there is one other PUG AD that jumped in. So when I get there it is now 3v2 in our favor. There's lots of NPC's attacking at this point too. The two DC turn tail and try and escape, they don't stick together so I break off and chase a Stamden (I'm a StamSorc). We're both using speed pots but since I'm a StamSorc I'm able to conserve stamina by using streak. The Stamden finally stops to fight and I kill him. That's that. Or so I thought.

I get a whisper from the Stamden "Pathetic, like you did something AD zergling. 1v1 me." I'm thinking dude you jumped my buddy when it was a 1v2 and then it becomes a 3v2 and you turn tail and run. I chase you and it's a 1v1 and I killed you. Even if they didn't try and run and straight up fought, a 3v2 is hardly a zerg. Like wtf man?

But its funny the guy probably think of himself as some 1vx guy. But they always cry when they get "zerged" however they pride themselves on being about to win those situations. The hypocrisy is amazing.

Over the past weekend, I've been in a group with around 6-10 (mostly) nightblades. A real well knitted group, while yellow and blue seems to have had "PVE zerg holiday event" or whatever. We avoided the well known tower farmers and eye-of-flamers as we saw them. Making a million AP in a couple of evenings of "mini zerging" really isn't a problem, and we didn't even see any rage whispers! LOL You can't really play objective that way now, but killing a crap zerg from behind etc. works very well. Then wait for massive defense ticks before moving on.

Point is, the zerg rules now. And it's just stupid to complain about "zergers", seems 90% of all players are in like maximum 2 locations at the same time.

And what gives you the position to say somebody shouldn`t pvp or doesn`t understand pvp when they play the game in a different way then you do? Why would that even bother you?

Some people prefer atleast somewhat competitive fights (1vX, smallscale, 1v1, GvG) and like to be respectful to each other instead of zerging+teabagging everbody.

did you read where he rage whispers people who kill him in ways he doesnt like? thats not healthy for them, its not nice to the people he whispers, and can lead to either one or both getting in trouble. If you cant handle being killed in any of the methods available in cyrodiil, you should not go in there in the first place.

id be surprised if you could gap close into a keep and kill someone with it, which is what we were discussing. i dont even know what macroslice is. trollking is armour related, so is earthgore, so those are fair. if i recall correctly, earthgore wont even make your list of attempted trolling very shortly. And yes, you're trolling now. You know exactly what i meant with my post.

IDK, about the guy you keep complaining about, but I'm planning on using everything allowed in the game and not known to be a glitch/bug/exploit to kill my enemies. Siege? Burn, baby burn! Resource/Keep guards? Eat those negates, suckers! Procs sets you think are cheesy enough that even Sheogorath couldn't handle the madness? Well, okay, I think 14 Earthgore in a group of 20 is a little overkill, but its allowed in-game, so why shouldn't people use it? If its in the game and its fun to use and its not an exploit/bug/glitch/cheat, you can expect players to use it and to kill you.

And if anyone wants to complain about getting warden birdspammed in the back, well, you know that running away only makes you die tired. Fly, my pretties, fly!

Really? You're going to lump together gear sets and legal abilities with stuff that ZoS has explicitly forbid?

You claim to be a sportsman, but all that really means is "play the way I think is sporting." What the heck is a "cloak ninja" anyway? Does that mean a NB using it's signature skill instead of getting melted because the class has no heal or inherent tankiness? That's going to get a rage whsiper from you? If I'm emperor, should I message you to get some sort of approval of what's "cheesy" and not cheesy?

Sheez. Just rez. It's not like there is a penalty for dying or you're going to miss out on a big time professional contract just for dying.

Fair enough. But I think there's a lot of area where ZOS hasn't got around to fixing stuff yet or hasn't made an official statement because of their rather hands off approach. And I think it's up to the players to moderate themselves instead of exploiting that stuff, so we get an overall better experience in Cyrodiil. Yes, I know I'm in the minority here. Yes, I understand that a lot of people here think Cyrodiil is war but it's not. It's a game.

AND I know I'll get replies like "If you know it's just a game why would you get salty about it?" Well, these people I whisper in Cyrodiil have one of a few responses. Either they ignore me, that's fine. Or they say "I think what I'm doing is ok", which is also fine. Or they reply with something along the lines of "Ah delicious salty tears, I'll keep focusing you because I like making people upset, l2p git gud" - and that's not fine. These are the people I usually have a problem with because they are intentionally doing that crap to get a rise out of people.

I don't know. Maybe you all are right and I just should stop ESO pvp. I'll consider it.

    Just to clarify.
    CE is a bannable offense.
ZOS has specifically said that gap-closing into keeps with chains or however is not intended behavior and that they'll ban for intentionally doing it. (We just had a recent thread about this...)
Macroslicing is also not permitted in the game.

Troll King is a set available to everyone in the base game.
Earthgore is a set you get from PVE content in the game. I guess you could call it pay-to-win, but that's the only way you can argue that people shouldn't be alowed to use it.
Earthgore + Destro Ultimates is a perfectly allowable tactic in the game using a set plus and ultimate available to everyone.
In the absence of faction locking, cross-faction play and spying is allowed. Besides you can't really stop me from looking over my roommate's shoulder when he's playing on AD and I'm playing EP or him looking over mine. Not that we really shared info, but you get the point. There's no actual enforcement of faction loyalty unless you are outright feeding AP to each other.

There's a serious difference between "PVP behavior & gear that I find unsporting" and "PVP programs and behavior that ZOS says is exploiting."

It is just a game, there's no need to send a rage tells to people who aren't doing anything illegal.

Moderating is fine, but there are going to be different opinions what is OP, what is an exploit, etc., and that's just going to lead to arguments and making the PvP community even more salty. If someone gets a tell saying they are a noob who crutches on proc sets, then I can;t say I would blame them for replying with "delicious salty tears."

Just think it's so much easier just not to get worked over how other people play the game. Even with things people consider "exploits" a lot of time isn't really that big of a deal. Back when DKs could leap into Castles, all those people would scream and complain. Who cares? Just kill the single DK who now has no ultimate. It never was a big deal; if anything it added a little fun. Odds are if someone a good player there are going to beat someone who just tries and chase the flavor of the month anyway.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. That's probably why half the posts in PVP Combat & Skills forum are just that.

I guess the main reason it frustrates me is that I feel like I get locked into a certain way of playing to counter particular builds. Especially if I get locked into something that's already too prevalent, like NB or heavy armour.

But thanks for talking about this rationally. Of course you are right, it's not fair of me to whisper enemy players because I don't like how they play. I'll keep my ESO to just the weekly guild group, suck it up and play a NB, and go play other PVP games that don't make me salty rest of the time.

I think people make assumptions and judgments based on the psychology behind different character choices and playstyles. I know I do. (Not necessarily for alts, but definitely for mains.) Like, I have to ask myself what kind of person plays that class? I associate Templars with people who like providing support, pulling their own weight while also aiding others. I associate Sorcs with people who want the power to cause harm and do damage. I associate Nightblades and their playstyle (hiding, sneak attacking with cheap shots, running away) with cowardice, lack of pride, no honor, weakness, and other negative stereotypes. Having a bad reputation is part of being a scoundrel/assassin/thief, and that's a burden you accept when you choose a playstyle themed around beating other players using dirty cheap tricks. Not trying to be rude, just explaining what I think causes the attitudes you've witnessed.
