- Update 23Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus

but this is almost everywhere in software industry, you should rather praise them for fixing urgent issues/exploit immediately!

Its definitely a tradition, and in pretty much every game out there: new content comes out, unexpected bugs crop up. The game company tries to fix them, but they are on a time table; if they delay launch of promised new content they're incompetent boobs who dont know how to run a game...corporate moneymen see the huge wave of negative press and suddenly people are looking for jobs. Or....they push the content out as best they can, bugs show up and they scramble to fix them post launch....they are still accused of being incompetent boobs, but people with cognitive awareness know these things happen...so no bad press and people keep their jobs.
Hmmm. Wonder which YOU'D pick?
But remember, ZOS are also incompetent boobs who at the same time are mastermind corporate suits who devise sneaky ways to steal all your money. Its definitely a tradition, and in pretty much every game out there: new content comes out, unexpected bugs crop up. Fun fact. These days we've got both at the same time. ZOS was incompetent boobs because of delaying EU server start for 8+ hours long, and ZOS are incompetent boobs because of all these bugs and issues now.

The only thing thats a constant are the mass waves of entitled, impatient kids screaming that they cant get what they want, right now, no matter what.

Preach, Sister (or Brother)!
@altemriel, you can't even manage your atrocious signature, and you expect ZOS to launch a huge update without any bugs? Really?...
The arguably worst bug this update is the storage crate issue. Disregarding the PTS bug reports about the crates eating inventory and moving it live anyway is shameful.
You notice how quickly they act when the players gain from their issues (homes sold for 1 crown in error, hugely unintended XP gains get patched out within minutes of being reported), but when the players stand to lose things it gets a shrug and "oh yeah, that's a known issue. We'll fix it in a future release".

First or second launch of the game?MinarasLaure wrote: »Its definitely a tradition, and in pretty much every game out there: new content comes out, unexpected bugs crop up. Never had these kind of problems with FFXIV.
And I just named one.
First or second launch of the game?
My experience with Dragon Bones so far:
- few hours of waiting for EU server to be up again
- buddy deletes all his healer gear by throwing it into one of the new chests
- all Nightbalde players on my TS are getting suicidal because assassins will isn't working properly any more
- everyone is infuriated about the off balance changes
- weapon swap is not properly working and skills don't come out until you set graphics to low
- you for what ever reason can't hide the guild tabard with the new outfit system
- quest in scalecaller peak is bugged and only works after a second completion
One must wonder what the multiple weeks of PTS are even good for. I can accept that from some indie title developed by a hand full students in their basement, but not from a full price game developed by a triple A studio and people that do this as a well paid full time job. The fact that many games have similar problems is not a excuse, it just goes to show how benevolent gamers as costumers are.
Do something like that in any other industry and you will be bankrupt and showered in legal actions in no time.
First or second launch of the game?
Which only illustrate how incompetent and unscrupulous ZoS is. 14 had the worst launch of any title I can think of - even more so then ESO. What did they do? Get a new guy in there to bring life to it and give the game proper direction. Then they brought the game down for several months and worked their asses off to build it back up from scratch apologizing for how crappy their previous game was.
After a few years they upgraded their servers, release content every 3 months (WHICH NEVER FOOKS ANYTHING UP) and have had 2 expansions - again, never breaking a single thing. The game hardly ever comes down and when it does its always back up very fast - when something is broken for a class, its fixed within days at the most. I played for years and years which is while I have come back to this game. I am simply burnt out - but already in a handfull of months I am getting fed up with the bugs and total apathy towards the community.
ZoS could learn a hell of a lot on managment and integrity from how bad 14 started out and how much effort they put into making it run like a well oiled machine. They went from absolute disaster to one of the best MMOs on the market with a lot of hard work based around making the game optomized what people wanted/asked for. ZoS biggest concerns seem to be based around finding a new way to nickle and dime people to death.
