Why so rainy in Reaper's March? Are there stats on zones and weather patterns?

I was getting ready to buy a Khajiit home. To figure out which one I really wanted I started messing around with them all in PTS. The most off-putting thing I've discovered is that Reapers March is friggin' WET! I like ESO's dynamic weather in general (tho even greater extremes would be awesome), but the insane frequency and duration of rain in Reapers March appears entirely out of step with the landscape, and an unlikely place for Khajiit to settle.

It got me wondering if anybody has gathered (and published) stats on the various zones and their weather patterns.

I believe weather is client side, so you could probably turn it off in user settings somewhere.

    May be incorrect.

If you want to avoid rain the best suggestion would be a home in one of the Redguard areas: Alik'r or Southern Bangkorai.

Despite being semi-arid, Hew's Bane will get rain instead of sandstorms ... if you were thinking ahead to the new Redguard home in Abah's Landing.

I believe that was true at one time, but somewhere along the way they fixed that so everyone in a given spot experiences the same thing. Either way, a casual glance at the Reaper's March landscape says "this is a dry place". Camp in it for several days straight and you get a whole different POV.

I find it odd that that there's thunder and lightning literally every time it rains, in any zone where rain does occur. Tamriel weather sure is weird.

I HATE RAIN but only because the lightning is NON STOP like a strobe light and it makes me nauseous.

So..I hang out in akari desert..snow areas and cold harbor. It never rains in those places.

Dont be fooled by the other desert..it rains there a lot to.

Rainy zones usually rain more than not..I can attest to this because I am forced to pay attention. It's not just reapers March it's everywhere it just seemingly never stops

I wish I could turn lightning off so I could enjoy the game more. But as it is..I cant..so if I'm questing or doing things and it starts raining..I have to warp 10 outta there

When i started playing, it wasn't like this. And I swear they just keep making the rain rainier. It makes me wish we could toggle it. And rain in Reaper's always irked me. It shouldn't rain that much in a savanna like region. I live in a drier climate, it rains here, but just barely.

From my experience, weather is global across all zones. If it rains in glenumbra, and you port to auridon, it will rain there too. Some zones have snow or sand instead of rain, but once the weather is "bad" in one zone, it is bad in all of them.

Yes this is accurate. You cannot escape unless you go to non raining zone.

Wrothgar..but only snowy areas. The rest it will rain

    Akari desert nowhere rains

    Cold harbor never rains

I don't think clock work city ever rains

Windhelm area never rains bevause snowy

    The rest...all rains excessively
